Lazy Vertin proposal

OK I really dont want to mess about with my cool tube and i dont like bare bulbin it. So my idea was to keep my regular horizontal grow keeping the same floor space. Then I would use shelving on the two sides and take the reflecter off. or if growing sativas it would give them enough space. This seems like the next step to get closer to vert without actually changing too much of my setup.

Ain't that a bare bulb right there? Just tilt it 90 degrees and you're golden. Any other way you're letting good light go to waste.

don't be lazy in this instance. The little bit of extra time/effort/money it will take to really set it up as a vertical setup will be worth it.

To ancient i would still keep the glass on the tube and just take outer reflecter off. I like this idea because i dont have to change my setup, buy new fans etc. I use the same footprint as usual plus all the wasted light on the sides and top. I like cooltubes and they work for me. Going barebulb just creates too much heat in my space.t

Thanks for getting back to me. I just dont want to mess about with something thats dialed in. I just figured i could use the wasted light with out changing too much.

You wont need to buy new fans as you already have a cooltube All you'd need to do is turn cooltube through 90 degrees and you're set.

By the way reflectors are what cause a good deal of the (trapped) heat so you may find things are slightly cooler without one. No way i'd be able to have 1200w in a 4x4 tent with reflectors but Ican with stacked bare vert bulbs (with the right strain anyway). If you do go vert run it with cooltube fan off for a while to see if temps are different.
