I'm surprised that such a thread exists here and even more that it was started by an administrator... if it weren't for OldPink I'd consider it a provocation by the blue people.
Have you thought what an agent browsing this site needs to do to find the real persons behind the avatars here? Maybe just go and check the 60 or so people that have voted for whatever $20 crap on Facebook? How many of them used a fake new account and accessed Facebook via Tor? Do you know how easy it is to find the person behind a Facebook profile?
Linking from this site to Facebook is the lamest thing done by an administrator of a "sensitive" site I've ever seen. I don't mean to offend anybody, I'm just so surprised by what I see.

We can't see who voted, but Facebook Inc. can and they are willing to cooperate...You cannot see who voted--
you are assuming the people on here have the same username and avatar on FB
and that someone would go to that length to try to figure out who voted on a crappy comp on FB
with the comp being run by a UK company that has a very minor page on FB
easier to check FB for the thousands of usernames used on IC which can be seen by any registered member
rather than a handful that may have voted
as out of the 69 votes most have come from FB friends not from IC
if anyone is at risk its me as its my account its running under
but as my Identity isn't a secret, well no problem
Oh and FB has loads of canna related pages and growers posting openly
I think they would be more interested in them rather than people that help me out by voting
if people were worried about security I doubt they would use FB
or at least not have any reference to a user name they use on a canna site
I still think that the way this thread was put was dangerous because there are a lot of people here who are not much into computer security and need to be warned about the risks that are involved in what is asked from them.

because someone likes a facebook page and voted on a poll is hardly grounds to get a search warrant
its something millions of people do every day, and I'm sure FB do not divulge info to LEO without warrants
or very good reason to do so, if they did I doubt they would have survived this long
ones that don't want to associate there accounts would not partake no matter who asks
same with other internet gateways, we allow embedding youtube video's
people link there own video's, me included thats a lot more proof than voting on a FB poll
so should we ban that in case someone doesn't understand what you do on the net
can be traced, our TOU tells members to be careful what to post and using offsite links

Admin may elect (at their discretion) to delete any links to off server websites as a security precaution to safeguard the security of all members.
as I don't see FB as a major security risk same way there are gamer links posted for clan's
even IC clans in some games or online fantasy league teams I fail to see an issue
as I said we do warn members about there security, if in doubt don't do it
some canna sites even have direct links to FB, it was even discussed for IC
to allow like links to threads but thats way beyond asking people to vote on FB
but if members wanted this function it would be considered
