wow, sounds like you have had some bad luck. heres my advice.

1. you have no obligation to your family, only to yourself. Go wherever you are happy.

2. you need to make new friends. I am sorry for the death of your friends /loved ones, but time heals everything, and you must move on. No regrets. be glad you are alive.

3. you are not alone in your financial struggles. jobs are hard to find these days. have you considered becoming a school teacher? truck driver? Alaskan crab fisherman? there are professions that will always have openings if you are willing to travel. I grow weed for a living, that is always an option.

4. seek inspiration from your negative experiences, realize what you are thankful for. The less you have, the more potential exists.

good advice, do what you gotta do to get by... it may b distasteful and or illegal. but there is a life out there

But I've not got enough space to make money.
And that kills me.
I built my cabinet flush with a closet in my studio apt.
My kitchen is full of mothers and starter plants.
I have 2 400's in the 18" wide X 5 feet long and 6 feet tall cabinet.
Got 2 panasonic whisper fans that are totally silent.
I got 10 Jedi plants and 1 delicious kryptonite.
In fact-I am cutting them down this week.

OP, do you do any Microstock stuff with your photography? Its small income, but its another stream of it. You say you are a photog and all. My buddy makes anywhere from 800- 1500 a month from doing just that on several other Microstock sites, its sort of a hustle, but can be done from anywhere.

Also, why not shoot more Tranny porn ( you lived in the best spot, go back), that and Midgets is still doing well for my friends Porn sites.

Actually, I have been out recently and have been climbing the walls.
So I made some edibles to help.
Today I just started cutting down my jedi girls.
I include some Jedi in every run-she is that great.

I have to check it out. I tried one called Seed but they never took any of work. I have so much commercial stuff that is perfect for them.

I actually had a friggin interview yesterday at a porn palace.
Fingers crossed!
I fought hard for the job.

I only paid 1/3 of my rent this month because I've been complaining about a window that fell out. (I only had that much money anyway)
They told me they will nail the window closed to fix it. Most of the windows in my apt are nailed closed-can you believe that?
I told them that I want my windows fixed right.
I've been expecting an eviction notice or letter or something but they haven't responded in 2 weeks now.
Weird.

I mean you are painting a desperate picture and wondering what to do to get some money so why not slow down for a minute on personal use and take advantage of what you've got? I know dope gets you through times of no money better than blah blah blah but if you want to get through this without becoming homeless it's worth considering. It's possible it could be the difference between a crappy rest of your life or a great one. Good luck on the porn palace job!

Guys-
In 2 days it will have been 2 weeks since my interview.
Guess I ain't getting it even though I bet I'm the only applicant with 5 years past experience in the field.
The first thing he said to me was: "You ain't no spring chicken!"
I'm 45-seems that you can only be hired if you are in your 20s.
I told him I could compete with any skateboarder plus I have the benefit of knowing myself already.
Doesn't seem to matter.
I am just so friggin pissed!
And at a total loss.
I had a good interview too.

I apply for these type of positions that I qualify for but I also apply for janitor jobs.
I get neither-nothing.
I have never been kicked out of an apt. in my life.

I sit in these stupid classes that I have to take while on welfare with much younger people, some who can hardly read and I can't even believe that I am there too.
I'm there due to the strangest mix of events.

I have the heaviest of spirits these days.

App to Home Depot, gives u option of sending that application to all surrounding ones. Work garden center. I use to, actually had a good time.

They have all sort of odd hour gigs there too mang.
Keep pushing that submit button to these companies, dont give up.

Finally got the answer to my interview and they went with someone: "who more closely matched" blah blah blah. . .
So much was at stake for me.
I worked at 2 different adult companies-I'm sure my experience trumps any other applicant.
The interviewer told me at the end of my interview that he wasn't sure about me at first but I convinced him that I was right for the job.
I didn't get hire because of my age and because I've been unemployed already.
Both completely stupid reasons.

My last 2 interviews both started with comments about my age.
I think I look good by the way!
I'm just fine. lol
I'm healthy and weight appropriate-on the thin side.

The first interview actually asked me how old I was and this last interview started with:
"You ain't no spring chicken". "There are all 20 yr old shake boarders here"
I feel like I'm 23 (I'm really 44) but I never heard anyone say anything about my age-ever!
I have all my hair and none of it is grey.
It was insulting actually.
I can do anything.

I keep applying and trying at all sorts of places and would think its just a matter of time.
But Feb. will be the second month I can't pay the rent.
I live in fear that they will bust in and pull me out of here at any time of any day.
What a friggin way to live

Do/can they do that?!

You know its illegal for them to ask or say anything about your age... You could nail them for that, but that doesn't really help at the moment I guess. And they USUALLY can't kick you out without first giving you a warning that its coming, but the longer you go without being even on the bills, the sooner taht day will come. Hang in there man, I hope everything works out for you.

A few things I noticed...

1. Your friends were in their 30s who died... from what? Drugs? Not normal to die in one's 30s. Yes, you need to come to terms with that...

2. Your brother probably kicked you out cause either he pegged you as a freeloader or there was something he was hiding from you in that apt, like a grow or some kinda porn on his computer or???

3. You've returned to the US in the middle of another Great depression, and you can't understand why you can't find work? Join the club. Real unemployment in the US is around 20%. If you aren't currently working, you aren't likely to get hired somewhere. It's a buyer's market and bizes aren't hiring much full time anymore. Only part time so they don't have to pay benefits. And yes, you're competing with ppl half your age who will work for peanuts and have degrees.

4. Things won't improve in the US until US workers are willing to work for the same wages as Chinese. And that won't happen until the Chinese are paid a lot more, cause US wages are stagnant or dropping.

So good luck in your search for a job. They are getting scarce all over the world. But as some have said, if you can move, you can find a job. In fact in SF there are more jobs available than anywhere else in the country right now. Go down to Silicon Valley and apply there. There are thousands of new jobs opening up. Consider yourself lucky to be in the area!

Got my "Pay in 3 days or Quit" letter last Saturday.
Its a friggin pre-eviction notice!
Bad, bad news.

My garden will be finished at the end of march I really need to be here.
Only 10 plants but super nice run going.
I need the girls to finish-they are doing so good.

Ship-
My 3 Cali friends all died from AIDS-one right after the other.
Then as soon as I got back here (only 2 months)my best friend in Thailand died of it too!
I was pretty fucking floored by that one!
They were all good, good guys too.
Fantastic souls.
I miss my SF bros cause they were my family here and I haven't had time enough yet to build up another one.
And I'm still getting over my Thai bro-it really was like a brother.
My 'real' brother was hiding a painting of mine that I had in storage at my mom's house.
The painting is fantastic-was done by a friend-and I had to work for it.
A giant skull . . .
I waited for him to return it but he never did.
He never said a word as he watched me searching for it.
I finally called him on it and he finally said he will return it.

I never had any problem at all getting a job at any time-ever. In fact I was hired out of a few hundred people for my last job.
So I am really surprised at how bad it truly is.
I have no concept that no one would hire me.
I've never even imagined that I would not get hired after an interview cause it's always been like that.

It is really fucked up.
