Sherrif takes my grow garbage...

i'm not in any trouble.
here's the scoop.

not wanting to put grow garbage in my dumpster and despising peeps who throw theirs on the side of the road, i tried to think of some way to rid myself of the crap that might incriminate me.

while out doing errands, i notice the sheriff dept. monitoring inmates cleaning the trash from the roadsides locally. the scofflaws that are cleaning the trash up leave it in bags on the side of the road waiting for someone to pick up and dispose of it.

going back and picking up several full bags, i return home to empty the litter into my dumpster and replace with my grow garbage....then return the bags to the side of the road.

no one will open them to inspect what is inside, no one will give them a second thought, the department disposes of my grow garbage unknowingly.

hope this helps some of you rid yourself of some of the anxiety
associated with growing.

peace

i do love cali! but unfortunately i'm not there. damn i could use some sun and sand about now!
if it weren't so much a poke at LEO i wouldn't have thought it up. i enjoyed sharing it too.

i adopted part of I-5. the deal is that i have to clean it two times a year. they give me a couple boxes of trash bags to use but i dont necessarily have to use them. they are white with black tie bands built in the bag. i leave the bags on the side of the road to be picked up. if you were to stop, you would have to stop. on a busy road, and put a bag there. that doesn't seem too cool to me. i live in a very rural area, i just put all my leaves in a bag and go down a lonesome road at night and put them out the window onto the street. i just go a distance so if anyone notices them they wont be looking in my area. i don't think stopping on a hiway and shoving a bag out the window is really a good idea. if i wanted to i could save all my cuttings up and put them out twice a year when i pick up. but i dont. i am actually tired of this gig after three or four years and think i'll give it up. it is a waste of time other than i have a clean hiway.

fyi the bags are usually picked up within two days and usually the next one. i would assume that the local jail has the same time frame. they could blow into traffic or some dummass could run over them. i drop the handles down over a hiway marker so that they can't blow away. i would highly advise anyone NOT to run over one of these as bottles are a hi percentage of the trash that is in one.

good points! so the area i'm talking about is not a hiway, local roads, sparsely populated, and a short walk from my grow...easy peasey.
i'm not concerned about what happens after i rid myself of the bags...let some fool run over it! if it would have happened anyway with a bag not full of my garbage then wtf?
now i'm thinking of volunteering (adopting) a stretch just sos the sherrif dept. delivers the bags to me!!!
gotta have some fun in life.

and sos you knows...i don't care what a pack costs in cali!:tiphat:

I compost mine........never leaves the yard. All paper products that I do not want people seeing goes in the worm bins.

I don´t use bottled products except fish emulsions so those go unnoticed.

Simple and easy. And later the compost goes back into the garden.

Why would anyone throw their trash on the side of the road rather then their county dump? Not even mentioning the pollution or rudeness of it, it seems entirely more risky. If anyone sees you dumping and gets your tag. It could tear open or a nosey person opens it and finds what's inside, probably won't ever link to you but why risk it? Even the OPs idea doesn't seem as safe as the town dump. Here we throw directly into the compactors, maybe some of you guys have dumps that do things differently and make it more dangerous?

Very intelligent until somebody observes you messing around with the trash on the side of the road (for various reasons, including littering, etc) and someone catches a plate. Then, you either end up with a littering charge, (up to $2000 around here I believe) or someone knocking on your door wondering why you're disposing grow related items on the side of the road. (In the rare occurance they check the trash you're disposing of).

It sounds intelligent, and could be a pretty solid way of getting rid of something, but, random shit DOES happen, and I believe the DUMP is your best bet.

Also, the cat litter on TOP of your grow garbage might be a safe bet before leaving it anywhere as well. Just a thought, got kinda lost with what you were saying.

Anyways--- I'm paranoid as is so I would be looking over my shoulder like crazy if trying to dump some grow garbage on the side of the road! regardless of who picks it up or put it there to begin with!

Just my .02!!

Be safe everyone!

first, no one, and I mean NO ONE, sees me farting around on the side of the road. the country lane is just not that busy. it is a short walk down the hill (i'm on a dead end), there are no lights and very little traffic.

My garbage has been sorted and sifted of any indication of identity (seperate from house trash).

I get the notion that some think putting pet waste on top of your trash would deter investigators...

incidentally, it is not littering, nor rude, to take a bag full of litter from the side of the road, exchange the contents, and replace the bag!

As far as the noid, that is what prompted me to give this thought in the first place.

here's your change back! $0.01.

oldhaole, can you arrange pick up?

Back at my last place people would dig through the dumpster for cans , this made me nervous . I had to complain to the manager .I also started leaving my recyclables alongside the dumpster to discourage diggers. This sounds harsh , but ther are all kinds of peoples personal , & confidential material in there.

Police should be required to get a warent , before they can pic through trash.
