NL#5 x Haze as far as most community found keepers from a single seed line...SSH was second...

Hilarious, the first strain the hit my mind was NL 5 X haze....also the first posted...I guess it is the one....but the others might be
Jack Herer, Sensi Star, Silver Haze (not super), ISS, ....many hazes mostly from the shanti, nevil, sensi camps... indicas don't hold too much on many of the og crosses of today...my opinion whose experience doesn't go back that far....
Phillthy....I must say that the Fourway from Philly circa summer 2002 was some of the best herb that I have even smoked...I bought two Os for head at $50 all the way up. However, it came vaccum sealed which was a little strange...I thought it was either a city thing or that it could have actually been that AAA Canadian that I have heard about but never seen....it cured better than most weed that I have even had....definitely was hydro but done really well. Do you think it was the same fourway that you have in mind? It literally holds a place in my top 5 but it was so long ago.

kali mist, nl5 x haze (sensi seeds version), juicy fruit (sensi), jamaican pearl (outdoors, sensi), and ICE (nirvana). and import morocco... seems like the blonde polm is pretty much gone (its all about pakistan lines being processed),...
seems like the above have dramatically changed (to the worse)...

pre-98 SSH and Kali Mist and Blueberry are interesting, are the modern seeds far inferior or just a little (as I have modern seeds of these 3)?

I did not mean to suggest just prior to 2000, it could be from the 60's or 70's for that matter. Also people seem to list things they liked at that time, but I am even more interested in which are still able to compete with today's strains and be viable today. Some of what I see suggests former glory, some present, it's all good but please specify which if you could! thanks for all the feedback! peace

I've never understood this enigma.
Can someone explain why 10-20 year old strains would be superior to strains of today? I mean, wouldn't most agree when I say that ''most'' things only get better with time? I mean think back to the days of the Atari 2600 (That was a ''Flux-Capacitor'' for you youngn's that don't remember it.) Compare today's PS3 to the 2600 and it's night and day. Same with major appliances, they only get more efficient and more user friendly...Electronics? We won't even get into electronics.
So why is it that ''The Best'' strains are always Pre-this and pre-that? Wouldn't it seem they'd only get better with time? Don't get me wrong. I'm a huge fan of old strains. In my mind, there's two types of weed...Haze and Non-Haze. I really don't expect too much improvement over the original Haze, although I may be surprised. I relate this too most people's interpretation of ''The Good Old Days.'' I lost my virginity listening to Zeppelins' ''Cashmere.'' Therefore, Cashmere will forever be ''The Best'' song ever made.

yeah I am wondering that too man! Why is a pre-98 Bubba superior to a post one?
The more generations you get removed from the parents the less hybrid vigor you see. 10-20 years ago there where more f1 hybrids availalble to the buyer, today those are all poly hybrids and who knows what generation of seed stock.

on the seeds been better ................. allot of its just rose tinted glass's , the same thing happens with people die they studdenly become saints , its the same when strains die or change they suddenly become more than the sum of there parts !!
you ask someone what the best weed was they smoked its usualy when they were younger and in a good time and place , id bet my bottom doller if you could get them that excat same weed and have them smoke it in the hear and now it wouldnt have the same effect !
