You can cure that with a couple o' dabs of dark paint or nail polish, 1 square inch of electrical tape, a wad of gum, a good flu booger, etc........

there goes the heater..... its a bummer!

Ceramic heaters work the best and can be found at any Wal-Mart in various sizes. They do not have any coils that heat up which in turn illuminate light, rather a stone element that heats up. I'm still unsure as to how your radiant heater is emitting a glow as there is typically an oil inside that heats up???

Looks like a Lakewood or a DeLonghi.

Should be one to four screws, control panel pops off, cover the back of the l.e.d.'s too.

What part glows? I use a pelonis that looks just like that, and my power light is the only thing that lights up.
Theres no way a ceramic heater will work as good as the oil filleld radiators. Too much heat comes from the ceramic ones, and they are always cycling on and off and hard to keep a steady temp with them.

I have always used ceramic heaters. As far as being too hot, I think the oil heaters get hotter, closer, as there's no fan to blow the heat from the heat source. Just keep the heater on top of the hood and set the programmable thermostat. It helps to use an atmosphere controller to plug into verses just the unit's thermostat alone, however, that will work fine too. I agree that they do sometimes cycle quite a bit, but I haven't had any problems maintaining room temp with them ever.

Be EXTRA carefull whenever using a heater near / in the grow room.
I've seen the shitty cheap ones melt electrical outlets twice and you must take vigorous precautions and do some testing before leaving them unsupervised.

Oil heaters passively heat and are less of a fire hazard.
Ceramic heaters heat up a porcelaine element and are mildly hazardous.
Coil heaters pretty much go by the principle of being a jumbo hair dryer, the things are fucking hazardous if you have a cheap one, read reviews and get to know the product for your own well being!

Stay safe!

I run a CHHC-1 in my flower room, which has a red led display. Hasn't caused me any problems. Not saying I'm right, but just sayin................
