Ghetto Rubbermaid CFL grow. New username, same ghettoness.

Hello everybody,

I started a thread recently for my CFL microgrow. I realized I should probably pick a username that is different from what I typically use, so I deleted my previous account. I put in a request to delete the thread/remove my username from it, but no dice so far. I don't think I really handled the transition correctly, but here I am!

I updated my album with afew new pictures. They can be viewed here: http://imgur.com/a/YZdEs#0

All pictures have a description of what was going on at the time. There are two new pictures of the clones I cut from my big Sativa yesterday. One of my indica clones rooted, and the others look like absolute crap. I don't think any of them are going to make it at this point. Do you think it could be the 24/7 lighting? Should I use a weak solution of Maxibloom in the water that I use to clone?

Also, I'm very curious to hear what people think about the wacky Chemdawg plant in the bubbling reservoir that is showing girl flowers after 3 weeks of vegetative light. pH has been fine, and I have been refreshing the nutes regularly.

I have some errands to run today, but hopefully I will be cleaning and re-painting the veg box. Nothing will be going into flowering until after Christmas, as I won't be around for a few days. I have a buddy who will watch the plants while I'm gone.

Thanks everybody! The 24 hours that I was without an account was BORING! :moon:

The new clones are looking good, and the indica clones are showing a little bit of fresh green. I'm like, 99% sure they are absolutely toast but we'll have to wait and see. I cut the root ball on the big indica, cut all the stem/worthless growth and threw it in the bubble tub deal. Hope something happens!

I'll post pics on Friday before leaving for a trip. I also need to look into getting an aquarium heater for the nute tub, as well as a better way of monitoring pH. It's a tad high.

I'm back!

PICTURE LINK BELOWWWW! Picture #22 and beyond. I am really terrible at putting pictures up in a way that is easily accessible. Sorry about that.

My buddy did a good job watching my plants as they reached for the lights again and again. The two chemdawg plants are absolutely out of control. My cuttings are dead for the most part. Some of them started to root, but absolutely died.

I did successfully root a very small cutting in water, which was a neat experience. I put one of my dying cuttings into some water with root powder in hopes of helping it recover. My goal is to take some more cuttings (topping the sativas in the process, veg for another week and then flower my two big fatties. Hilarity is sure to ensue. 4 weeks into flower, I will need to move 4 more plants into the flower box. Harvest every month!

Also, I got some random bagseeds that my friend collected over the years. No idea if they'll pop, but he kept them in a dark prescription pill bottle. No idea what to expect, but I love growing from seeds. Put 5 in water afew hours ago. Hoping something will pop!

Nice to be back! Hope to post some cool shit in the next few weeks. Not only will these boxes be going, but my buddy and I are hopefully going to build a larger box for 1-2 bigger plants to veg and flower in. Hoping to get some blue dream, as its my favorite strain and deserves a place in my house.

*UPDATE*
All 5 seeds popped. Going into the ground (or perlite)!

Sorry for the constant posting. I just want this to be detailed!

Top down view of my new and improved bubbling ridiculous plant reservoir deal. There are 5 cups punched into the black plastic that have the bottoms cut out. When I need to put a plant in, I basically slide a cup within a cup and everything stays in place. I covered the extra access to the reservoir since there are only two plants. Eventually, this reservoir will be the base of the flower tub.

A side view before some of the branches got bent down. Admittedly, it is a bit of a snug fit. They should stay clear of the lights though.

My future flower tub. It is definitely going to be on its side like this for maximum vertical space. The lid will serve as a door, and it will be reinforced with weather stripping. More progress shots coming soon. The goal is to have the two sativas in here by New Years. My friend and I are still planning a larger tub for 2 taller plants, but this is going to be awesome for right now!

Merry Christmas everybody!

2 Chemdawg on day 2 of flowering. 90 watts at 2500K if I recall. Cabinet is not finished. The door is tarped over with a fan blowing across the leaves and out through a vent on top. I have a fan that will be installed in the door and several more cuts to make to the tub for passive airflow. There will be a carbon scrubber with an exhaust fan on top.

The next generation. I have two chemdawg cuttings and a mystery bagseed bean in the veg box. Going to sprout some more seeds now that I have vermiculite. I'm making friends with a local grower who will hopefully help me iron out my bad practices. Everything is going well though! If all else fails, I will just get afew clones from a shop for round 2. I'm pretty confident in my ability to sprout from seeds. I am the worst cloner known to man. :(

4 24 watt CFLs at 5k.

One cutting looking healthy!

Day 3 of flowering. Not going to do this every day, but figured it would be fun to compare with yesterday.

420 post pics every day.

Day 5 Flowering. If anybody has any suggestions on how to prevent these plants from completely destroying the earth, let me know. I definitely did not LST or SOG in veg, and the plants are angrily reaching towards the lights. I have been keeping them low without too much bending.

for a guy trying to keep a secret identity online you sure are going the right way of making yourself easy to find. i would stop posting my pictures of weed on a public image hosting site like imgur and start using the icmag albums. click user menu-> my albums.

secondly nice looking plants.

3.) if i were you growing in such a small space i would top/fim the growing tips. you will keep short but it will bush out. i assume it will just be the 2 plants? should be enough space for the 2 small bushes. stop pruning when they look about half the usable space or when the stretch slows down or stops. whatever comes first.

good luck.

Thanks for your concern. I was not aware that there were private albums through the forums. I'm not super worried about where the images are hosted, as the album is private and only viewable to people to have the link. There is no identification in the album that could be used to ID me as far as I know.

Also, these plants just popped into flower. If I top them now, wouldn't that add a good deal of time to the flowering? I was thinking I could just slowly train them downward and anchor them to the side of the nute tub. I'm just concerned about delaying the time to harvest (though I'm definitely willing to do it for the plants).

just your ip address.

its the beginning of flower and the plants are gonna stretch about 2-3x as big as they are now. if you top them now then the next nodes down are going to be the new tops. you don't have to prune it all back at once if you don't want to, but i don't see any reason why it wont all grow back within a week anyway if you did top it all at once. unless you roots are somehow damaged.

Thanks for the information. I'll do some reading and see what I can do when the lights turn on in the flower box.

*EDIT*
stihgnobevoli, thanks for stopping by my thread. Your own threads are very informative!

This is a miracle. I am horrible at getting seeds to sprout. A new world record. I hope it doesn't die.

*EDIT*
This is one of three that are currently all in the same state of cross looking plant eyeball thing peeking out of the medium.

*Double Edit*

I can't just post one pic. Day 7 of flowering.

Also, plant vagina.

Next step is to read up on how to trim these for maximum bud. Suggestions? I have a list of sites ready to read, but won't get to them until the weekend.

Day 8. Had to rotate the plant on the right today, which is why it looks a bit lower than it did yesterday.
