Your most surprisingly good strains....

My most unexpected surprises were :

Nirvana Northern Lights circa '04. Really good smoke, heavy yielders.

Chocolate Rain ( Chocolope x Cocoa Kush) Amazing flavor, resin yields. Elite in every way.

Favorite clones:

Chemdog D: it has it all. Flavor, smell, yield

DJ Short Blueberry Sativa: it has it all, flavor , smell yield

LA Pure Kush: shitty yielder, great smoke

Basically, any seed I pop has to be good as the three clones I listed. So far the only one I've ever found has been Chocolate Rain. I've grown mostly clones, but the ones I didn't keep or lost were : Northern Lights x Big Bud ( lost), Lionheart, Sour Diesel IBL, Williams Wonder IX, Gonzo no.1, Deep Chunk x Cheese, Killing fields ( lost), G13 x Butterscotch Hawaiian, Sweet tooth 1.1 ( lost), GDP ( lost), Chemdog 4 ( lost), Original Diesel.

I like running plants at least 3 x before I toss them. It's very hard to find a keeper. I've grown lots of pretty looking plants that did not have the flavor, the stone or the yield. I don't plan on buying seeds, but most you need a few packs to find a keeper. That chocolate rain gave me a keeper with 2 seeds as a test.

im curious to know more about the yield of Chocolate Rain? how would you compare it to strains like killing fields and chemdog d? i need a strain thats considered a massive yielder but at the same time has the potency you know.

:ying:Most surprising for me was Nirvanas Blue Mystic, highly underated strain from a mediocre seed bank. Yielded great, nice taste, low smell, and devastating buzz.

Me too,I found a pheno that was just like this, and I would say the same words on blue mystic, actually I've found several real nice pheno's from nirvana.Looked just like the pic.
Also had a nlpi that was real small, this stuff would stick to the wall, and I'm not kidding,no flavor though, one hit wonder!!The thing about nirvana is they have most of the same stock,so your getting older strain base material. You have to hunt a little though?

I think it is worth it if you got the space and time.I stopped running nirvana a few years ago because of the ratio of good to bad plants.I mean half or more was nirvana strains, then I told myself never again!

I myself would not grow more then one or two plants max because of this, from seed, and only if you clone the keepers.

There really is to much searching to do with these genes,I think, but I have and I'm sure a lot of people have got lucky and found something in the first 10 pack.I think to much hit or miss.

Good luck with it!

Your most surprisingly good strains....

Popped one bean from a $20 pack of sour turbo (Rez's Double Sour Diesel v2 x Sour Diesel v2.5).
Everyone wants this bud. I had to leave it at a non-smoking friend's place due to all the people that come over & ask for it. There's no place to hide the stench of that half pound of dank at my place.

Nirvana's Aurora indica is surprisingly fun and cheap. Low expectations and general neglect and still a nice result. Good one to start with I think.

Hey Aksala your Pineapple Express sounds and looks a lot like the SDxOG kush pheno I ran from jlp. Similar up high followed by a body massage. And lemon iced tea is a perfect way to describe the smell. Congrats it looks like a keeper!!

I made f1's from an open pollination of one male and 3 females from a 2009 pack. The parents were great, but
I've tested and grown ten or so of those f1 seeds and its some of the most motivational smoke I've ever tried. I sit down to smoke a bowl and five minutes later half the dishes are done. my patients love it. I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon.

FMS bubblegummer the price and finished product blew me away. I found the bubblegum pheno in 1 out of 10 females. Unmistakeable smell when you brush up against it in flower.

GHS Big Bang. Bought it because I was looking for something cheap and relaxing to use in festivals when I can't fall asleep. Instead it became my favorite strain. Crap bag appeal but nice flavor and the most beautiful dreamy deep hypnotic high ever.
Cut it very early with 90% clear trichomes and vaporize it only. That's the secret to it, otherwise it will just give a body high.
If anyone knows of any other strain with similar qualities please let me know. =D

I found a purple afghan from a pack of nirvana didn't know how to clone back then and lost it but super fire before og, bubba and all the cali kushes showed their faces but for a clone that really shocked me I had a shrom that was like lemon zest long high ,super dank and stayed in the air for hours scared many people away.

i was like the other guy did not know how to clone back then and lost her.
