sorry but i don't really see the fact that the "poor judge" was being blackmailed as any reason to take his side. i wonder how much fun it is to divorce a sadist who just happens to sit on the bench ..... could it be that without that tape the family never could have gotten away from him? i would bet almost anything he got to see that tape back in 2007 so he would be forced to play fair in the divorce. i don't believe that type of control freak would make someone leaving him easy. the whole story has not been put on the table yet, and chances are we won't like any of the players when it does ....... but what he did in that video was wrong! ...... and how he is treated by his family is something he earned

Please don't get me wrong -- I don't feel like the way he was hitting her is ever necessary or acceptable, but I also think that before this guy is crucified there might be a bit of research to be done regarding the credibility of the girl who posted this.

My mom used to whip the shit out of my brother and I.
I was just thinking that this beating is a bit tame compared to some of the beatings my mom would dole out to us.
I need to call my brother and ask him if he's seen this tape, and how he thinks it compares to moms beatings.

We were pretty wild kids, and I don't really feel I was truly "abused" but it was a bit excessive.

You might not feel abused and thats great, but in my humble opinion, a child brought up with beatings like that is not going to know any different and think it is just kind of "a bit excessive" but not too bad. Kids will forgive a parent anything up to a certain age, they just want to be loved and wanted. There is no excuse in the world for beating a kid like that.

But I honor them in remembrance by thanking them for shaping me to be who I am today

I use my conscious to guide me to believe they should be today for indeed they live on in me

I cannot not condemn where I came from since it is indeed a part of my heritage, the parents who raised me in this manner and contributed to my DNA, but I can change the course of our collective lifetimes in how I choose to live today.

I haven't forgotten the past, yet it no longer hurts, it is simply a measure of a cause and effect I can see and choose not to replicate and to know this, and to have the freedom to change this in my lifetime, I am eternally grateful

"It wasn't her fault, don't blame her..." that is way to true !!!!!! the ass beatings which evolved into ass kickings that i got from both my parent do make this one look like a walk in the park. but the last one of those i got was about 4 decades ago (pre video recorder). i don't think i could sit through a video of some of the shit that was done to me and my brother (not that we did not earn any of the ass kicking we got) ....

...but the one thing that really fucks with me, is that is his daughter for christ sake! when paps had a good head of steam on he could be brutal with me and my brother, but my sister got her last spanking when she was around 9, and as far as i know he never laid a hand on mom. i admit that may be part of why this bothers me so much ....... it sounds fucked up because it is (trust me my head can be a very complicated mine field) but in there at least even a borderline crazy male leaves his hands the fuck off the girls.

this is one of those things that can be seen about a million different ways ........ individual perspective would be about 90% of the numbers being punched into the calculation.

i don't see the judge swinging a large % of viewers to his camp ..... this was not a spanking

Then STFU about how it's not that bad. If you got worse from your parents then YOU'RE A VICTIM, TOO. Too bad you didn't have it on tape. You may have survived it, learned from it, grown from it... but that would happen to most of us if we got hit by a bus and survived. We learn from painful experiences. That doesn't make it OK.

(That he's a judge who presided over other cases of child abuse/neglect/etc. makes it that much worse.)

SO I texted my brother, and asked what he thought of it, he said the kid deserved it, so i guess moms beatings did warp him a little bit.
We've talked many times about how they would have locked my mom up if she was beating kids today the way we got it.

A mild example.
She would have my brother and I line up side by side facing the back of the couch with our arms on it. She would tell you how many smacks you were going to get with the yardstick for your punishment, usually about a dozen, and she would say if you just stood there and took it, she would only hit you on the butt, but if you thrashed around or ran, she would just swing away and let the shots fall where they may, legs, back, face, everywhere.
I could stand there, but my little brother always snapped and ran halfway through and got chased and hit all over.
That was mom back in the day.
Plus she would experiment with different things to smack you with, like giant spatulas, and even a butter churn paddle once.

I guess it was abusive, but I still don't feel like I was abused

The fact that all my friends were getting it at home too I think made it seem more normal.

Plus they let the teachers beat us at catholic school too, man we were getting beat everywhere back in those days.
