Hey bodymind I hope ya began flowering those beauties, they look healthy. Another thing is Tikal being listed at 18-20 percent THC in the description, opposed to the 16 or lower in others. So does this mean it's the most potent strain in ACE's collection?
EDIT: This is the label over at Attitude Seedbank:

Ace Seeds Tikal is a new sativa hybrid with Central American genetics, originating from the jungles of Guatemala. She is said to be easy to cultivate and doesn't require any special marijuana farming skills. Her cannabis seeds are suitable for indoor and outdoor growing, they perform well in soil, pots and hydroponics setups. Strong Central American genes make Tikal seeds cope very well with mild stress situations. An incredible trichomes production, a flower density and a devastating power, which knocks down the hardest and most nervous smokers, turns this marijuana strain into a cannabinoids bomb full of sweet flowers of strawberry aroma.
Tikal marijuana variety has a strong sativa structure, her tall thin plants with well developed branches shoot straight up like candles. Leaf to bud ratio is pretty good, though some pruning might be required. Her flowering period is within the minimum lever set for sativas; it takes this cannabis just 10 weeks to start producing medium sized nodes full of generous trichomes; THC content is said to be as high as 18-20%.

The guatemalans I have are showing variations on a theme, like a true landrace should: Some are longer flowering and have large internodes, some are surprisingly short and compact with large fluffy flower clusters, all share common scents - with the exception of one so far, which is very tropical fruity bubble gum/citrus scented reminding me of the old hawaiian sativa line that i've worked with a bit. The rest of the plants have a sour floral scent that is strangely, but not so strangely, related to the sour scent that comes off my rose flo line.

I'm not sure about the potency of the line, though i am hoping for a light and clear plant from the guatemalan. dubi says that the tikal hybrid is more potent and complex in character, but I don't know what the thc percentages measure out to be. I am often skeptical of the accuracy and pertinence of those claims anyway.

Thanks for all the info about your guatemala sativas bodymind :)

Things are becoming more and more interesting .... sounds look you have enough genetic diversity and plants to choose from the female side but i'd try to use different males till you are very familiarized with the line and the concrete dads you are working with.

if you use just one male for the reproduction and that male is mediocre then you can easily 'ruin' or degrade the quality of the line, even having a variety of good females to choose from.

MMmmmmm This is not the official ACE Seeds Tikal description, it's quite similar to the official and better written but we have never add thc rates to our official strain descriptions.

i think, that this "sentence" which i have quoted, originaly came from description of ace-malawi.

So,The thc content should be also "copied" .

Don't understand,why someone do this:laughing:

I just did an early test smoke on a couple of the selected guatemalan plants. The high definitely did not lack potency or length of high. I was impressed. I smoked in the middle of the day and the high was relatively clear and had a distinctly "floaty" feeling that I have experienced with large fluffy green flo and other oaxacan-leaning strains over the years. the flavor wasn't really developed but was rich nonetheless...

Im glad you liked it bodymind,

I feel the same, guatemala high is clean and positive with that happy flouting kind of feeling, quite similar to some of the mexican sativas i smoked in my early days :)
Best wishes for the reproduction and hybrid breeding.
