Ushio is a solid choice for hps. Mh is not really necessary, you might be better off with t5 to veg, would be cheaper on your budget too. I will be switching to t5 myself once I move my 600 ballast to my flower room.
You shouldn't have to pay more than 100 per bulb, 15 for a socket, and 200 for a ballast.

I ran the Warrior Dash on Sunday with my better half, even not training, and a pack a day smoker, I pulled it! We wore our costumes through 3.5 miles of obstacles, and I am broken today!... My fiance was Red Riding Hood, and I was the Big Bad Wolf in Granny pajamas! Too much fun!
Anyways, after tucking the little lady in bed after Downtown BC Halloween, I did some much needed trimming of my veg room. I started trimming back the ECSD moms, as well as the Goosh and Chocolope in veg. Time to get rid of those fucked up reverted basil leaves...
The USD are all doing well. 4 of 5 have solid roots, while the 5th is swelling and should have roots in a day or so.

Does the USD stretch like the ECSD? I want to get the most out of my 8'ceilings...

I'll demonstrate real soon how she stretches... You should have no troubles hitting the ceiling. I haven't flowered out my ECSD, but in veg they're similar.

Gonna be busy all night extracting... But a couple of things have been bouncing around in my head.
I built my original grow in an outdoor shed with no insulation, which I regret, and have had some pretty serious humidity issues as a result.
When my 600 MH is on, my humidity drops to 35-40, which is fine for flower, but I feel I need to bring it up to 60-70 since I will only be cloning and vegging in there. I keep the room on 18/6 in order to bring up the RH, but then within an hour of lights on, it drops back down to 40. For the 6 hours of lights out my RH is mid 60s, I just need to find a way to keep it up. I was thinking of a small humidifier that I could hang somewhere out of the way. The room is ~4x6.
The other option is to take out the 600w MH, which I planned to do anyhow in order to use the ballast in the flower room, and replace it with more T5s. If I do that I have a fear that my temps will be too low with winter coming, but I guess a small heater on a controller should fix that.
How critical is it to veg with higher RH?

Thanks for the feedback bro! I think I will do fine also, but I need stretchy plants, and most of my strains are going to be Sativa dominant. I guess most of the stretch will be happening in the first few weeks of flower, so I may be fine also, but I love to min/max...

I have also been considering dropping the Goosh in favor of Blue Dragon, which I ran last run and absolutely love, plus it's a Sour Diesel cross... My buddy has a couple of Blue Dragon Moms and I could grab that cut whenever I need.
Anyone have any experience with stretching Goosh to fit an 8' ceiling? I have not been able to find good info on that strain, but it is supposed to be Affgoo(sp) and OG Kush.

The original ECSD is a clone only strain. I was lucky enough to have been gifted the cut. I believe there is a sour diesel ibl seed available. I am not sure what ibl stands for, but I think I have seen reviews that reported good results.

Arm....check out Bobbles misters he uses to raise RH while in the veg room, I struggle with the same issue....I can keep the RH at acceptable level I want in the flower room no problem but in my veg tent I believe ( just my and bobble and DHFs opinion) is too keep them at a higher RH Than the flower room, I also keep my Flower room @ 65-70% RH while they stretch in the flower room, then when budding is strongly in place cut it back to as close to 50% as I can.....Actually I can only get it to about 53% with my little dehuey....and it sucks a shit ton of power....I soon need a Drizaire got close two times but they got sold before I could get the cash together. back to CL to look for another lol!

I guess I should say that my RH is 45% but most people say higher is better. My plants still grow but how much I lose because of my low RH I don't know.

Where`s Bobbles when I need him.....anyways....the reason higher RH works for explosive veg foliage and root growth all the way through end of stretch can be best explained by googling "VPD"/Vapor Pressure Deficit/sp ?........

I was lucky where I lived cuz crazy ass RH was free , but Krusty preached 70% all the way through end of cycle cuz he was in Canada but everyone else was gettin PM and molds/budrot so he then said as low as yas can drop RH till harvey cuz big plants drink/eat so much juice in fast hydro setup on a daily basis that RH stays high......so.....

IOW....after stretch as low as possible to prevent airborne pathogens from takin over yer shit till chop.....Major air exchange always kept my ass safe .........
