An englishman visiting America alone

San Francisco is a great town to visit. Great nightlife, good city transportation, lots of sight seeing if you have never been before and the chicks can be very hot. Plus you can pop over to Oakland or Berkley for a bit.

x2 on New Orleans. It's a rough place, but it's always fun. Hot women, great food, and the party never stops.

Just STFA (stay the fuck away) I'm tired of all you brits stealing our women with your cute accents and gentlemanly behavior.

Seriously, dude, the women will maul you over here. You'll be exotic and mysterious. You'll have to fight them off with sticks.

Would people in the us find it strange to encounter a random foreigner out on the piss alone or would it be fine to just mingle on in?

Not strange at all. My business partner is a brit, a former "random foreigner out on the piss alone" Best joint rolling lesson I ever got was from a drunk, stranger brit in a bar.

Don't let anyone tell you NYC is unfriendly. Ain't true! I went to the Apple to seek my fortune in my teens. Two locals almost came to blows when they thought the other was steering me in the wrong direction. New Yorkers are helpful and friendly but, even more, they're busy. Never stop a New Yorker on the street with, "Excuse me, I'm visiting from the land of England, having a wonderful time, I was wondering..." New Yorkers haven't time for that. Just catch one's eye and say "Grand Central?" They'll get you right there every time. They wont stop. They'll keep walking but they'll tell you, "3 blocks over, 6 blocks down."

i love so cal

but man, the midwest had some of the friendliest non fake folks ever! they'd have no problem putting pints away either, i'd highly recommend minneapolis, mn but it's starting to get super cold there right now soo...

i think you'd have fun in santa barbara on state street if you happen to so cal area, also we have lots of very nice herb in so cal, it's pretty tough to find in the midwest

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Disney World!

I'd throw my vote in with either Vegas or Nawlens bro. Both places you can drink on the street, just don't show your junk to anyone. You'll get arrested. Vegas is expensive, New Orleans is pretty decent... just watch out for the shitty areas. Best of luck!

you're quite wrong about NYC mada, you'd have a blast and the people there are the friendliest as they've literally gathered there from around the world. you'd be treated like a king @ Peculier Pub in Greenwich Village on Bleeker St:
* “Peculier” is not spelled wrong!

* The Pub is named after “Old Peculier,” an English beer brewed by Theakson’s brewery, named in honour of the Peculier of Masham.

they used to have real horsehair dartboards even in the '90s when everyone else had gone to electric, don't mean to stereotype you though; by looking online I can see the boards are gone completely.

any pub or saloon you visit in the village will be filled with partying people 7 nights a week. uptown & down you'll find great Irish pubs to eat at, some may be mostly for the drinking 'pub'lic but lots have authentic table fare, here's a list of the lot: NYC's Irish Pub Guide.

I've met many people from various cities and even the snootiest of them always marvel @ and say "we don't have anything like Broadway," some of them meaning the theaters and plays while others are enraptured by the district itself encompassing dozens of square blocks of the city.

Yes, very likely if you try to stop some suit on the street asking touristy questions you'll get shut down quick, same as ANY city anywhere.......

I'd say practically any college town. More women than you'll ever get a chance to meet will get down cause they'll know you're not coming back.:D

I'd vote no on Vegas. Its a bit of a wasteland unless you're into gambling, which I'm sure you can do on the continent.

I would go with NYC. All the shows and culture youd want. Not in the middle of the f'ing desert. :)

I'd go to Cali, maybe San Fran first then just travel around. My biggest piece of advice is to stay in hostels wherever you go, you will meet loads of solo travelers like yourself and have a great time partying. I'm an American doing the same thing in Europe right now.

Also consider signing up at couchsurfing.org. Stay on people's couches for free and get a local to show you around! If u stay with hot chicks you might even get a little bonus poontang :)
