lucas formula basically just eliminates the grow... all the needed nutes are available in the micro and bloom... it's basically just for the simplicity of it, or at least that's why i use it...

General Hydroponics Flora Series Feeding Strategy - Lucas Formula

G-M-B (Grow-Micro-Bloom)
0-5-10 - For Vegetative cycle (18/6)
0-8-16 - For Flowering cycle (12/12)

The numbers above indicate the number of milliliters (ml) of Flora Grow, Micro or Bloom formulas that I use in one gallon (US Liquid) of nutrients.

You will notice I dont use any of the Flora “Grow” formula, do not need to, the Flora "Micro" provides plenty of Nitrogen.

when i run out of the flora series nutes, i am gonna further simplify by switching to the flora nova series where i only need to use the bloom to achieve the same nutes...

Actually..... 0-5-10 is for low-light flowering, as in t8-t12 fluoros. Anything T5, CFL or higher you should use 0-8-16 (or Head's 0/6/9). This is straight from Lucas where he's bitching about being misquoted.

There are a LOT of errors in the Overgrow FAQ... the "0-5-10 is for veg" is an often repeated one, no worries. :D

Someone figured out weeds NPK preferences years ago. Using GH 3 part, these numbers cannot be approximated. Throw the green bottle (grow) away and you can hit the numbers almost exactly.

The green bottle is money down the drain. The plant wont miss it at all. While throwing out what you've already paid for is no savings, it will save time and energy for now. Next time you need Micro and Bloom, get those and leave the Grow behind. Then you'll be saving money too.

Yeah... what FB said. :D

Personally I don't mess with the 3-part anymore. 1 teaspoon of Maxibloom per gallon is so close to the Lucas mix that it's all I use. Cheaper too (as I posted) since you're not paying for the shipping of the water they use to make the 3-parts. :D

Stay Safe!
