MR.. NICE - HOWARD MARKS

I've been reading Mr Nice for about 6 months now. Just a couple of pages now and then while I eat dinner. My only criticism is that a lot of it is the same formula, like, an opportunity arises, he takes it, money is made or lost, he moves somewhere, repeat. I guess that is pretty much the subject matter anyway, but I was expecting more crazy amazing tales and such.

Still a good book to hold my attention for so long, and the mere mention of nordle earlier in the thread was enough to make me chuckle. I picture cops scratching their heads thinking "wtf is nordle?". :D

a man that makes peterpan look like a geriatric with a sleeping sickness.....
THIS IS A TRUE STORY OF HOWARD MARKS AND THE FACT HE WAS BRITIANS MOST WANTED MAN. HE SPENT 7 YRS IN AMERICA'S TOUGHEST PENITENTIARY...

during the mid 1980s howard marks had eighty nine phone lines, had forty three aliases and owned twenty five companies trading throughout the world. all were money laundering outfits for his main concern:dope dealing

At the height of his career he was smuggling 30 tons of mary jane and hadcontact with organisations as diverse as MI6, the CIA, the IRA and the mafia. Following a worldwide operation by the Drugs Enforcement Agency, he was busted and sentenced to twenty five years at a state penitentiary in indiana. He was released in 1995 after serving seven years of his sentence..

FREQUENTLY HILARIOUS, OCCASIONALLY SAD, AND OFTREN SURREAL..
A FOLK LENGEND - HOWARD MARKS HAS HUGE CHARISMA, HE SOUNDS LIKE RICHARD BURTON AND LOOKS LIKE A ROLLING STONE...

AND HAS HAD THE EXPERIENCES TO OUTWAY ANYONE IN THE DOPE BUISNESS

I have known Howard for quite some time and have always enjoyed our meetings/recreation together.....

Mr Marks is a fine story-teller and very humorous in person due to his constant wit, command of the English language and rich/warm Welsh accent.......and I am proud to call him a friend...

....He has lived the life of what some may construe as a 'Counter Culture Hero'.......and I salute him!

*The movie could have been better.......but would never compare to just reading the book Mr Nice.

he does a pritty good irish accent as well lol his son seems cool too but a big blagger lol

For some reason i enjoyed more his "Senor Nice" book... :)

I read MR nice 10 years ago and again last year while laying on a beach in the Caribbean then this year on an island in the indian Ocean i read Senor Nice... it is a great follow up to Mr Nice and also tells a little about Shanti and the whole MR nice seed bank... Twin dragons was read in 36 hours while fishing this could have been better... the film was ok and im looking forward to starting dope storeys on my next holiday :D

I read the book 2 times, first time when I was in Boston with grandmomma, then in Hawaii with fiance sleeping with her head on my shoulder. He is very unique and a very good man!

a little off subject but ..... has there EVER been a film that was better than the book?

Only thing I could come up with that could be an argument is The Godfather. Other than that, you're way right, books are always better than the movie.

There's a free kindle app for your PC, so you can read this book on your box. (It wasn't a direct read from the download, I first had to convert it to a Kindle-readable format with a free program called Calibre.)

Thanks, cannarelief.
[Edit: oh duh, I now see the MOBI link in your post which makes it a direct read. I blame the kush, always blame it on the kush.]
