on a whim and in despair, about four or five years ago i had bought some weed that had been gravitized and bushmastered..... i got a really good deal on a couple ElbOWS and the shit really looked like the fake shit you would buy out of the hightimes mag.... no joke.... i regretted not giving it a good look before buying it... shit was full of hairs and had minimal thc... after complaining to the dude i bought it from, he came out and told me that the grower had used gravity and bushmaster.... i googled grav and bushmaster and was "WOW'd" (similar to the guy who wrote up this artical in the link the OP posted....he used the word "wow" many times lol)......

when i had first heard of it, i obviously did not hear of the negatives, so i went and bought me some. I eventually applied it to my plants and was wow'd some more...

i stopped using it after an ICMAG user came and made an alarming post here not to use it because it will taint your grow medium. He stated that you will not be able to re-use your medium and if you do it will stunt growth - which this article said it does. makes me wonder if the guy who wrote this is the same guy who made that post....anyways, i stopped using it....

i also once purchased some air cooled reflectors and included with the reflectors was a sample bottle of gravity and bm...... i picked up 10 or so reflectors....i still have these unopened samples...i wonder if they lose their viability.....

I think this thread got cleaned up and reopened, but...

Those of you bragging about your huge chemmy beaster operations have a nice surprise in store in a few years when you can't get people to even look at your trash for $500/lb.

what do u mean?

Yes please keep this thread open. That expose is entirely relevant to the safety and education of the cannabis community.

what do u mean?

There were some posts by members who seemed to be gloating about their heavy use of these additives. It just kind of disgusted me that anyone would knowingly put out a product tainted with this shit for unknowing consumers.

As for my "prediction"...

As we have more and more people growing their own, and with the organic revolution beginning to take hold, and with people just being more knowledgeable about what is crap and what's not, I believe that we will see these factory beasters become practically worthless in the coming years.

It's a tough call when that happens,

Not for me - it's really easy to utter "This tastes like shit" and it's equally easy to tell someone "This is really nice! This is something you can and should be proud of." - when it's warranted.

Maybe it's old age and such. I have absolutely no need to deal with fools lightly, i.e. no reason to get touchy-feely with pikers and WPFs over crappy pot..

The way I look at it is you only live once..why smoke toxic herb...why grow toxic herb to sell to unsuspecting customers...what walking turds will drop from a birth canal next?

I don't want to eat produce sprayed with the latest fix so why would I want to smoke plants dosed with crap like Alar, airplane deicer, etc?

I'd love to see some science how 'flushing' removes accumulated compounds in plant tissue since they've failed miserably to make the case for flushing the soil.

Flushing just sounds cool doesn't it...flushing. So if I take my plant and pull it up by the roots and wash off all the dirty soil stuff, would not that be the ultimate objective of the practice if it could be taken to that level...and what about the stuff that the plant leeched out of the soil? Is it flushed....silly.

I understand that by running large volumes of water through a potting mix is what "flushing" is termed. The idea being to wash away extra nutes/ferts that did not get used. Yes in practice it works on that basic level, for that particular moment.

I see no possible way to flush any accumulated toxin out of a plant just by the simple and retarded practice of "flushing"...nonsense.

Oh, we could so go on a rant together.

There was a time when I thought those products offered me what I thought I wanted, now I'm so glad I resisted the urge. Of course, what helped make my decision easy with the fact that all of these products are so expensive, and I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a little bit of food for plants.

By the way, I hear honey badger don't give a shit.

The only practical use for "flushing" is when a new grower uses too much fert in their excitement/then wants to save their messed up plants -its a desparate last ditch effort

the people foisting these dangerous chemicals on the rest of us are the real criminals
