How Long Do You Flush Before Harvest?

C

CheifnBud2

I don't flush necessarily. I just stop feeding for 2 weeks prior to harvest.

In organic soil you don't really need to flood the medium.

It depends on how strong you have been feeding and how much nutrients are stored in your plant... If you feed lightly enough towards the end where the plants aren't super dark green u can flush for a shorter period of time like just the last week. this is what i do and it only takes a week for my fan leaves to yellow out. But if your plants have a ton of stored nutrient (really dark green leaves) it could take 3 weeks for the leaves to start yellowing. So really it depends on how you feed...

depends on your definition of flush.

i don't flush by pouring 2x-3x the volume of soil, i simply just give plain tap water the last couple weeks. nothing more.

Agreed .... i don't flush persay ... (pouring 2 gallons of water through a 3 gallon bucket ) i feed with plain PH'd water for 7 to 14 days depending on harvest lengths .

no flush just plain water until done.. Your plants can still have green leaves when there done..If you waited for the leaves to all turn yellow the palnt can be well past harvest.

In organic set ups I don't flush either, probably because organic feed isn't pure minerals and thus don't affect the burn quality or the taste.

With chemical hydro/soil I begin the flush when the Trichomes first start going cloudy which is usually about 10 days before they are 33% amber which is actually when I harvest completely. Snag yourself a cheap 30x microscope if you are interested in my method. Don't get a 60x. They are fucking impossible to hold still.

All organic soil and nutrients here. I dont flush I try to feed plain ro water last 2 weeks sometimes more like 3 weeks if I dont guesstimate finish time so well.

Thanks for the replies all. I'd always considered flushing to be flooding the pots to waste with pure water (cleansing the medium of salts, etc., which in turn cleanses the plant). Seems my interpretation of 'flush' may be a bit narrow.

Ouch!

Personally, I don't care if it's the finest peruvian flake bat guano on earth... if you've used too much and I can taste it in my cannabis.... It's a contaminant. Don't care how "organic" it is.

ANY nutrient can overfeed a plant. An overfed plant can be watered plain for a month and a half and still be lush and healthy. Plants are great at storing nutes for a rainy day.

Essentially you should taste "Cannabis" in it's wonderful array of flavors.... not some "Earthy" or "Organic" flavor that makes all your strains taste similar. HCH2 has crappy organics like that... can barely tell one strain from another simply by taste.

I moderately feed my plants and then use plain water for the last 2-3 weeks... doesn't matter if I'm in soil or hydro. :D

Stay Safe! :D

Well, the last 2 weeks they get straight spring fed well water. I find it hard to belive that flushing agents ,so to speak, provide more help than good old fashioned WATER. Just my honest opinion.

How often do you flush your vegetable garden before harvest?

Of course any "anything" that a plant requires can cause harm to it. But with organics that's incredibly difficult to do, especially with nutrients at least from my experience.

Any time I've grown organic anything (Aquaponics) I get nothing but the best compliments. Just my two cents.

I'm on my first grow and am not sure of the flowering time, I have diff strains, and some are not what I was told they were, what is a good indication of when to start flushing, or when to stop the nutes?
