From ez-cloner to ebb and flood table

hey guys

Just got my new ebb and flood table goin, and I am cloning in an DIY ez-cloner. I took the 3 largest plants, and put them in the table last night at right about when lights when out. I did not flood throughout the night, they looked weak when I put them in the table. This morning they looked like shit, and I am pretty sure one is going to die..extremely limp leaves and stems...just hunched over and sickly looking. They are currently on lights on, and I will flood 4 times when the lights are on....

Is there a method of transitioning to reduce the shock, any tips? Should I flood when lights are off?

any help would rule.

Thanks

i never had problems with the transition, i flood the table and protect the roots with my closed hand then i put my hand in the hydroton then release the plan, only after table is empty i remove the neopreme

Re: From ez-cloner to ebb and flood table

Thnx memyself.....i got it sorted...like an idiot...i put the plants in at lights out..and starved them for 12 hours....lucky I only lost one. Since then I have increased flood frequency from 4x to 6x when lights are on...and make sure to put new plants in the table when lights come on...to help alleviate underwatering when they are just coming on to the table.

Its been awhile since I have run flood and drain, this kind of stuff u dont have to worry about when running coco.

Thanks for the help.

I have tried different flood times and timings, with little to no noticeable difference in anything. Anywhere from 2 floods a day (for seedlings) to more than 24 floods a day.

I have found though that less floods often leads to a smaller harvest than with more frequent floods. Of course, this has probably something to do with that plant has constantly more nutrients and more water available with the frequent floods, and it in turn equals bigger buds.

Of course, this is medium dependant. I have used mostly growrocks/LECA/hydroton and rockwool. Sometimes only rockwool..

And now I am going with Mapito as medium. We'll see. Right now I am flooding it about once an hour, occasionally almost twice an hour. So maybe 18 floods per day..

Ok, this is partly just a post about non-relevant stuff but I hope it gives you some insight how to arrange your floods.

I feed ~ 2 hours during lights on and ~ 6 hours lights off.

I am now 2 weeks into buds and thinking every half hour would give them more nutes to make buds with.

I also run a HPA pod where they get 3 seconds of atomized mist every 3 minutes
