ok. so i've expanded a little bit. i'm working with a bunch of top fed buckets like so:

this is my biggest room to date at about 19'x23'.
any suggestions for how to build a screen that big?
i was thinking of just running lines across the room with yo-yos
and hanging trellis nets from them, but i'm not sure.

talk to me.

If you're bound and determined to scrog, you could build a frame the width, length, and height of a row and mount a screen to that. Just my :2cents:

In my scrog experience, I have found that rigidity in your screen is key. Whole room screens are a real pain in the rear because it's really hard to get in and work.. I now do them individually (you have a lot more plants then I do though). Maybe try to make 1 screen per row.. with room to walk inbetween if possible. Room to work on the plants really is underrated!

thanks to all.

i'm not married to scrogging, but it's just what i've gotten into the habit of doing. also, with so much room between the buckets, it seems more logical than sog or just letting them go straight up or even just topping them. if you've got other training ideas, i'd love to hear them.

heard. my veg side is like a can of sardines. this is why i found a bigger flower room.

rigidity, yeah. i'm guessing you use chicken wire then? got pics?

At first it occurred to me to just let them grow, then to scrog just the rows of buckets or like VerdantGreen's suggestion, to modularize them.

LST would be a bit more problematic, but doable.

Most big grow threads I've read just showed the plants untrained. But, topping them would work, too!

Like I said, if you're bound and determined to scrog (and were it me), you can make a frame out of 2X2 material (it's not going to carry very much weight anyway) and a few cross pieces and/or corner brackets. Maybe even build them in manageable 4' to 8' sections. :dunno:

Whichever way you go, let us know how it works out, but it looks like things are well organized already!

man that much space and buckets I would just pull a SOQUICK on them. Scrogging that is going to be a lot of work. Sure you know that, and sorry I can't offer much advice besides just buying the 32' x 5' trellis and connecting it viz ziptie to make one large net.

Do you plan to be able to walk down the middle betweent he two systems at all?

Just build a wood frame, connect your cutom sized built trellis nets. I anchor my nets with twisty tie from a 100ft rool to my tubing throughout to add more strength.

Me though I would just rock that out as is and support as needed.

i like the the idea of going modular, in theory.
in practice though, it's going to be a terribly labor intensive affair.

pvc frames with trellis nets sound like the way to go.
pics to follow.

stoopid question:
can you break me down on soquick?
as i understand it it's just an untrained flower period after like 30 seconds of veg?
have i missed something?

was pressed for time and resources, so i let em go where they wanted.

observations:
first they wanted to go into the lights.
then they wanted to go to my neighbor's house.
and then they wanted to lay down on their sides.
we're gonna go to the zoo tomorrow and maybe for ice cream after.

conclusion:
whatever else you do,
don't grow ANY DAMN THING in buckets and plan on not having to train it.

it was a good run, but the pictures are just too shameful to post.
