camoxnhx - thanks mang. The smell reminds me of fruit stripe gum. My next grow is Alien Double Dog from HOL. They'll flower after ~7 weeks veg. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Disco! Just wanted to say that I really like your scrog setup there; specifically the rubbermaid tub with the drain installed at the bottom.

Seems like another case of the simplest solution being the best. I just got through with my first soil scrog, and it didn't go the way I wanted, but I learned a lot.

I very stupidly just set my smartpots on top of a very short rubbermaid tub with holes drilled in the lid for runoff to drop through, and then a big hole cut in the side to stick a pump hose through to pump it out. Horrible, very poorly thought out concept. Continually fighting bacterial/fungal growth in there, ugggh. Freakin noobs man, I'm tellin ya! Wish doing it your way had dawned on me, but I was stuck on smartpots at the time.

JD - I like the idea. Kinda surprised it gave you trouble. Thanks for sharing, always good to know what others are trying.

My current setup might contribute to root rot. After feeding, I have to make sure there's no standing solution in the tub bottom. Never been able to find a drip tray the right size and depth. I thought about buying a 10 gal tote and cutting off the bottom 2". Then I can drill a few holes in the tub and relax, lol.

I checked out your journals. Is that two different tents or same tent/different lights? The dual 150 is cool, really makes a big difference.

I know what you mean about scrog growing. They're higher maintenance than I expected. The next grow will grow through the screen instead of underneath. When a shoot gets too tall I'll tie it to the top of the screen. I hope to get better colas with less lateral craziness.

Yeah...gave me some issues the old design there did. I was running organic soil with those, so it was lots of AACT. Seemed like any residual moisture in that runoff tub just led right to some colony or another.

Real thick layer of perlite at the bottom to function sort of like a hempy rez to help with root rot??? Don't know just a thought; some dislike perlite too, soooooo....we're just talkin here.

Yeah, both of those grows were learning experiences for me. 2nd and 3rd real ones. That was 2 different tents; actually the scrog was under a 400 with an air cooled hood. It went down all wrong...not stoked on the way it turned out, but some of the veg pics I like .
