i was smokin' some sour d for wake and bake today...and watchin' a cpl episodes of props on tivo.....

...while pondering the status of us growers today.

ive been plenty happy providing ganja for family and close friends, but even tho i work full time and make good money (25/hr)...and the wife just started back to wrk full time, and our 1 year old starts daycare for the 1st time on monday.

....i still have desires to take it to the next level.

im a legal red card holder in colorado, i only grow in a dr120 w/ 600 watts , but ive got legit ppl ive known since childhood wanting my shit by the pounds and willing to pay top dollar...i can easily do it ...easily.

...but i'd have to up the watts and convert one of the spare rooms, and move out the tent...or keep the tent going for moms and projects.

fuck im torn here...but im talking lots and lots of money...ive grown for almost 17 years ...i prolly deserve a bit more profit :dunno:

oh but back to the original question.....

i guess if your not passionate about ganja then it doesn't concern you much.

...i don't think ppl really give a shit about what we (growers) do 9 out of 10 times....

i almost wish they would keep it medical and focus on that, and drop the full legalization drive.....

sorry just ranting

i doubt we will ever be "fully accepted" by society, but ill never fully accept society...so i think were on even ground for now :jump:

Medical is no way to make us legit! Medical is a excuse for 90% of smokers to beat the Gov. Decrim is the only way to go! There are legit medical users but lying to ourselves! Just grow it as a plant not as meds and stop relying on the Gov to approve of what you are doin!

If it is up to the conservatives and those kinda people, our place is behind bars, or "rehabilitated", so we can go back to boozin it again and smoking cigs.
Incarated for growing a plant, that's native to many ditches and far-away meadows. How childish is that... Because law and moneymakers where to afraid of the its power, or exploided the power, like Nixon.

Society isn't much for someone like me, so why should I give or change myself for its sake? Society is, grotequely cut down, a moneymachine. And a place for workforces to take care of their jobs. And for their children to grow up.
Of cause this not bad. But I hear the terms openmindedness, being a free spirit and so on, being used about the western society especially by politicians, when in reality a big part is manipulative, corrupt, capitalistic, cynical, treasenous and murderous. And yet again, there are so many wonderful people in this western part of the world. Not one without the other, apperently. At least women of this world is allowed to drive a car ;)

After obtaining a med card I made the jump from recreationalist to full blown med patient. How? I became educated on using my favorite relaxation method for more than just a "stress" relief. Which in and of itself was a medical reason. Now instead of using the plant to "get high". I use it to supress depression, nausea, lumbar pain, arthritic pain, and insomnia. I also use it to stimulate a weak appetite and as a cancer preventative.

Until I got a med card I did not realize everything this plant could do for me. By growing high quality Cannabis Sativa L. a person can help heal the planet environmentally, get off harmful drugs like prescription pills that poison the body, improve quality of life, and start learning a rewarding hobby as old as civilization itself.

I'm sorta progressive sorta conservative. ....
Progressive in the sense where I think looking out for the little man is worthwhile, but not giving the world away to them....Conservative in the sense that I think small government, private enterprise, and government fiscal restraint are good things....

I don't think either end of this ideaology goes against growing and selling to decent, (otherwise) law abiding adults. The governments prohibition laws have made marijuana valuable. I know a lot of professionals that want the best marijuana and are happy to pay for it. To them, getting top quality weed in a way that isn't sketchy is worth good money. It's the big governments fault that it's like that. And it's also the United States that raises us to believe that capitalism, profit motive, and making good money are positive attributes, so to seek profit by satisfying demand....that's as American as it gets. Again, it's the governments prohibition that created this market.

I'll take it a step further. I believe that law abiding adults should have the right to go home, chill on the couch, and smoke a J after work. I think marijuana is an incredible plant, healer, and is way safer than alcohol or many of the drugs the FDA and corporations push on us. To make it available to them safely...well, I'm not going to go as far as to say we are "civil rights activists" or anything, but we're approaching it.

...and this is whether you're going through the medical scene or violating the law. As long as you're not selling it to kids, people using welfare checks for it instead of feeding kids, than you're doing good people a service that they should have the right to have provided for them.

This risk involved, thanks to the government, our work and expertise, and the raw demand out there is why there's so much profit involved. There's nothing wrong with wanting to make a profit.

My "real" job is a job that is all about what is good for the community, not for paying off my student loans, mortgage, or having financial security. In this secret job, I grow and sell weed to good people that should be able to have it. They're willing to pay. It's a win win situation....and most of all, I hold my head high because I believe I'm doing a good thing.

Grow weed, sell it to good people (through as few outlets as possible, and ones that you know are selling it to other good people), stay safe, make the money, and hold your head high. You'd doing a good thing.

Fuck the rest of the closed minded public that disagrees with you/us. We're doing a good thing.....

Thats how I see it, at least.

If you grow enough cannabis to provide some to others despite its illegality, consider yourself a public servant.

Interesting conversation guys. I started growing not out of a medicinal need but more of a safety need. I enjoy smoking recreationally and while in the big city it was easy to find weed on the street. And I would buy from younger guys because I would rather give them the money than them knocking some woman over the head for it. But as the city began to crack down on the corner guys I figured it was time to find another avenue. After a trip to Vancouver and Amsterdam a grower was born. So I would grow just for me and my better half and a few friends. I never sold it to them just spreading love the Brooklyn way (Notorious B.I.G quote). One day I would like to make money off this skill I'm acquiring but for now I prefer to just be that nice guy.

For most, being a grower is like being a prostitute...no one really likes you, but you are doing the country an enormous service.
