humm, also i forgot to mention, this is total hogwash from beginning to end.

methods of testing weed have changed since the 60´s.

and that is the sole reason for the higher testing weed (some of the 60´s weed, with this info in hand, actually would score higher than the top strains today..)

..

other differences, buds are now sold manicured and buds only. it used to be stems and leaves with the buds. (another reason for lower scores, since they tested the whole lot back then)

this is ignorance compounded upon ignorance.

eh, 3rd post, but anyway,,,this just proves how utterly useless and dangerous things governments are.

utter hogwash (unless you are on the end that receives the benefits from this)
gets made into law and kept there, no matter how high the evidence piles up of their folly.
we have an utterly failed system,+

one much more damaging than beneficial.
and the drugwar is just another symptom of a thoroughly sick animal.

New cannabis law hits Dutch 'coffee shops'

New cannabis law hits Dutch 'coffee shops'

New cannabis law hits Dutch 'coffee shops'

PETER CLUSKEY in The Hague

POLICE IN the Netherlands will start random checks on “coffee shops” – where cannabis is sold and consumed legally – from today, after the cabinet agreed on Friday to reclassify strong cannabis as a class A drug, alongside heroin and cocaine.

The decision means cannabis containing more than 15 per cent of the active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is banned with immediate effect under the Opium Act, because medical experts believe it is more likely to lead to addiction and psychosis.

Dutch justice minister Ivo Opstelten said last night it would be the responsibility of the coffee shops themselves to monitor THC levels in the cannabis they sold, and the average level of 16 to 18 per cent, which had gradually become the national norm, would no longer be acceptable.

The new law follows the report of the Garretsen Commission – chaired by drugs expert Prof Henk Garretsen – which concluded that more powerful cannabis, known as “skunk”, was more dangerous and detrimental to society than had previously been believed.

“Extensive epidemiological research supports the view, in particular, that strong cannabis used during adolescence is a serious risk factor in the development of psychotic disorders and dependency,” the report said. “The link is direct: the higher the THC content, the greater the risk.”

The decision will have a significant financial impact on Holland’s 700 coffee shops, which say they will have to replace about 80 per cent of their stock and claim the regulations are driven by the rightwing of the minority coalition government, particularly the Christian Democrats, supported by Geert Wilders and his Freedom Party.

“These people want to ban everything they consider to be ‘left-wing hobbies’, and using cannabis is one of them,” said Marc Josemans, who owns a coffee shop in Maastricht, where new laws were also introduced a week ago banning foreigners, apart from Germans and Belgians, from using the city’s coffee shops.

“The problem is that it’s not clear exactly what the coffee shops need to do,” said lawyer Maurice Veldman. “At best this new regulation will be unworkable. And at worst it will drive the sale of ‘skunk’ underground.”

WTF is going on? Seems like here in the states and overseas things are moving backwards and not forwards in terms of the legalization movement.

the good thing is, people allover are sick and tired of their governments. ;)

this is going to compound that. severly
...
.though.. i think things are gonna get steadily worse for about ten years, then the people are gonna go nuts (people are still looking to the government and bankers for answers and that just means they are gonna get dryfucked in the ass at least a decade longer)

and yeah.. this will be an excuse to really start the war (check out some of the arab lackey nations, where they were fieldtesting ZERO tolerance (get put away for 0.001 gram of bud)

why do you think they are building prisons allover? to prepare for this shit.

i think its time to go really underground. at least for the next ten years.

10 Years :laughing::laughing:. Their FED UP NOW, My IC Brother. The movement is slow in moving, but it is moving albeit, 1 step forward, and then two steps backwards. , "but it's all good " Right???(w.r.o.n.g),,,,well you know the saying. "Theirs So Many Of Them" Pick one..lololol :artist:

For anyone outside the UK, this is why you never trust an article that comes from the Daily Mail -- this thing sounds like it's been uttered by a man, shirtless, wandering out into traffic.

Here's a little sample:

Even the Dutch think skunk drives you mad

Skunk is many times as powerful as the cannabis of twenty years ago. The plants have been genetically modified through selective in-breeding.

There is now twenty times as much tetra hydro cannabiol - the active chemical ingredient (THC) - as there used to be.

This liberalising policy was reversed when doctors - who tend mostly to be Right-wing - pointed out that skunk is very dangerous psychiatrically. Its frequent use leads to an increased incidence of hospitalisation for psychotic breakdown.

Ya crazy shit happening all over the world, people are so mesmerized by I-PHONE-PAD-DVD-SAT-TV drama they will believe everything they are told as the Truth. a gram of 15 percent THC cannabis contains 22.5 mg of TCH so when vaporized you get maybe absorb 10mg which is the same dose as the Unbelievably safe 10mg dose of marinol that is now schedule III and does not cause side effects...SO why the hell is THE SOURCE plant considered schedule I...WAKE UP put down the cell phone, shut oFf the IPAD, BLOW UP YER TV. and try to make a difference. The next episode of cleft lips new reality tv show is not real....overgrow these sumbitches and vote em out we outnumber the baby boom bitches robbing us blind and then locking us away for owning flowers. lets take our freedom back...by the bullet by ballot by the bible or the gun...any which way...another toke of CALI hm

I notice there is no information about the specific study which they claim has found a DIRECT link between cannabis and mental health issues, and a relationship between seriousness of symptoms, and THC content. No scientists name behind it, no named university or hospital, to allow us to check it out....

It's the classic "some people are saying" approach that Fox News just loves. If they had a source they'd go ahead and cite it since they know we're so complacent we wouldn't bother checking it out. When they just pull something out of their ass don't be surprised to find them holding a handful of shit.

with the latest actions in america, canada and amsterdam

governments, just died in my eyes and became pointless.

glad you finally see the light...

it brings more sadness and discouragement in your life when you know the facts.

but i'd rather see things in reality as they are then blindly follow a fucking word my govt tells me...

you know right after 911 i had a talk with my dad and told him we had much, much more to fear from Washington DC than Al Qaeda...

most skunks come in at about 8 to 10 % THC. lol Shows you how much they know about weed.

So are they going to test all of the strains the shops carry. That will use up those Euros made by the shops.

Who would pay for the testing? Shop owners, customers or them??

Dutch Government Announces Plans To Criminalize Potent Marijuana Strains
Share This Article

The Hague, Netherlands: Dutch government officials have announced their intention to recriminalize strains of cannabis containing levels of THC, the plant's primary psychoactive ingredient, above 15 percent. Officials were not specific as to when the proposed ban would take effect or how strictly the new policy would be enforced.

A representative from the Dutch Ministry of Justice said that the new policy will mandate cannabis retailers to self-regulate the potency of the cannabis products they sell, and that state inspectors will be granted the authority to randomly seize marijuana from Dutch coffee-shops for laboratory analysis.

Critics of the plan state that there exists little data associating increased health risks with higher potency cannabis, and emphasize that the compound is relatively non-toxic and incapable of causing death by overdose.

In recent months, Dutch Cabinet members have taken steps to clamp down on the cannabis coffee-shop industry, including proposing a ban on sales to foreign patrons.
