cool thread huligun! i always like reading about peoples' travels, especially when good weed is involved. hopefully your ribs will feel better soon so you can take huge hits of the latest norcal offerings!

I can just see all four of you in about a month's time, sitting on the corner of Hwys 20 & 101, all scraggly, fucking COLD, with these cardboard signs with scissors drawn on them. I'll give you a bud and some $$ for food.

 hahaha, right?
it'd probably be, "looking for trim job NEED FOOD!"
watch out for rainbow tribes!

but really, have fun!

Don't feed the raccoons in the Sequoias...

Oh yeah, they'll smile at ya and look cute with their little hands and all...

Then BAM

Gang invasion and all your food they can reach is gone.

Sucks to be hungry by the campfire and hearing that snotty raccoon laughter in the woods.

Thanks for the tip MrReosote. One time a while back (before we were living together) My girl friend stayed with this one guy when she was between homes, couch surfing. The guy lived in some remote property in an agricultural area. He was one messed up looking dude, ex con, and sort of independent. Anyway, she made it like two nights there and was calling me crying to come get her. She said that a giant raccoon was chasing her. She said she got a broom and the thing was darting at her and trying to get at her around the broom. She was genuinely scared. I had to drive like 5 hours to get her and I was a bit scared. The guy had junk cars and other rusting things around the property. He wanted me to make some pump he had work to pump water from a local stream. I couldn't do it because it was an industrial voltage and there was no way to make it work without a transformer or something.

My rib is feeling better now. It must be bruised, not broken. I know it is not just the oxycodones I am taking. That is kind of a relief because I have been walking around like an old man. Kind of embarrassing. I have been milking the situation for all it's worth. I have been making my girl friend do all the heavy lifting. Before you all start calling me an ass, know that she hit me in the ribs since the fall, on purpose. She is a crazy bitch and will act and then think about it later. So now I tell her I cannot lift the suitcases and so on because of what she did to me. I keep telling her if she had not hit me there I would be healing sooner. She has been robbing me for my oxy's too btw.

We are almost done trimming that weed and I have a huge bag of clippings. Not sure what kind of hash I am going to make yet. I am on the road and don't have my stuff. I thought of just making some ISO hash, and I may, but I have so much that ISO may not work. I may try the dry ice route (if any of you have not heard of that I can find a link here somewhere). It's harvest time and I can just keep collecting all the trimmings I get. Once I have them all I can decide what is best. Since we are finishing earlier than I thought we would we may be heading to Humboldt a little sooner than I said in my previous post. I really want to get a change of scenery, so I am game. I have to pry my girl friend away from her family though, that is the tough part.

So far we have been living pretty good. A nice shower every day, nice hot meals and even the dog is eating good. He is a spoiled ass anyway. He always eats good.

That's the thing hashcat, California is so big and full of neat things. I really do consider it my home away from home. The first time I went to Florida I expected it to just be the East Coast's California and was sorely disappointed. There is only one California in the universe. It has the good, the bad and the ugly.

I am ready to pull out today, but it ain't going to happen. I can't seem to get my ass out of bed and she has some things we have to do before we go. It is about 300-400 miles to where I want to go first and if we do all the stuff she wants we won't get out of here in time. I think we will start back out there tomorrow morning. Packing is almost done, just a couple suitcases to go. It is pouring rain today. I guess I better get use to that for a little while. I think it rains every day all year long in Humboldt.

hahaha, damn raccoons. i remember my first grow camp, there was this raccoon that sounded like a damn mountain lion. he'd go through our recyclables. i would yell out my tent, "who goes there!?" and the noise would stop. and then continue on after a few moments.

the next day i tell my partners "i think someone is coming through here at night."
and theyre like "its just a raccoon man." im like no way dudes. the next night, im walking from the hangout cabin back to my tent, and suddenly something runs out. im like ahhhh! sure enough, raccoon went through all of my granola bars. bastard raccoon.

It is pouring rain today. I guess I better get use to that for a little while. I think it rains every day all year long in Humboldt.

theres always a lot of moisture in the air. but on the days it doesnt rain, its just gorgeous. i like it when the morning fog rolls in. dont get the humboldt scrud though! :tiphat:

It's 4:00 am. I woke up and shot out of bed to go walk the dog. I guess I have the bug to hit the road again. We are all packed and ready to go back out. It has been fun visiting family and trimming. The family that smokes together stays together. I am looking forward to some dryer weather but that won't be happening anytime soon. I want to spend two to three weeks in the Emerald Triangle.

Everyone has their own way of trimming, I suppose. I like to trim the biggest buds and just look at them. I hold them up and talk about them. After the first hour or two nobody is impressed with any buds.

Yesterday we went to Walmart to buy some jars. I asked an old lady that worked there where are they. "If we have any left they are over there blah blah." It made me smile thinking about about all the people jarring up their weed. All the while my girl friend is brushing clippings off of me in the stores.

We are in California now, staying in a cheap, but clean motel, that allows dogs. We are all pooped. My dog is laying on one of the beds snoring like an old man.

It's raining today and it is dampening my spirits a little. I want to cruise around and find a nice coffee shop or something where I can meet some like minded individuals and maybe make some contacts. So far I am having trouble getting motivated. Between the cold rain and my ribs hurting I feel like an old slug. The girl friend slipped out for a minute. I bet a dollar she goes to McDonalds to bring us home a breakfast. I may try to make some hash today if I can find some motivation. blah. The only thing good about this time of year is the plentiful outdoor bud. We tried to sell a bit to help with our expenses and nobody even needs any. I don't know how people make a living doing this. I guess if I were a regular dealer it would be one thing, but to just have some for sale is a bit out of character for us. I think we sold $200 worth and it is awesome bud. I know we won't be selling any here and that is why we only brought a little. My girl friend got a pound, but it is shrinking. It was not completely dry I guess. It will be there when we get back. Maybe there will be more of a market for it in January. We can use that to get the rest of the way home. These motels are going to eat us alive though.

Having better weather and a better time. Buds and hash are everywhere. Nice people too. Have smoked weed I had only read about. So far I have not spent a dime to get high. Making some great friends. What a blast. I want to do this every year now.

My hash clipping collection is getting too big to travel with. We met a guy named Raul in Arcata and he gave me about two kilo. These clipping are like bud after going thru grinder. Going to have a lot of hash at this rate

sounds like you got some twister mulch ... oh boy !! enjoy your pam :)

I think I know what you mean. Big growers use a machine called a Twister to trim their buds and a chemical called Pam to clean the machine. Maybe you know a different Raul?? He is not a huge grower. He is someone that I was talking to about a trim job and he said he is already finished. Some how I worked in that I like to make hash from clippings and he just gave us some. It is not mangles buds, just really good and frosty trim. Better than I am use to. No chemicals in this stuff, all hand trimmed trim. I will be improving to make some hash very soon as I am afraid to be packing this much around. I can stash what little hash I make a lot easier than that much trim.

Everything is going well. Weather is funky, but that is okay. My girl keeps bringing up attractions in Southern California and putting on the pressure. That is a couple weeks out. I want to go to San Francisco for a day, Mendocino for a day or two, Kings Canyon Nation Park (Sequoia forest), Then Death Valley. I am sure there will be many attractions along the way. Some time after that LA, Orange County and San Diego. I have to make a trip to Tiajuana, but my girl is afraid to go. I have to leave her with my family in San Diego when we do that.

I have some pictures on my phone. I guess I have to email them to myself and then upload. None of my pictures are very good but I will try harder.

kings canyon and the death velley are both fun. sounds like your having a blast. enloy your trip

Oh yes we are having a blast. Most of my experiences Californias attractions like those have been just passing through in a hurry because I was just passing through to get to some other place. This trip is intentionally directed ay seeing these things. I have been using my phone for internet lately and it works pretty good for that but not so good for pictures. The thing has a flash and a high pixel rating so I don't know why. I have a regular camera I can use next time we have a hotel with internet. We a looking for a cheap camper right now. I bet we get one too. Thanks everyone for the reputation points, tips and suggestions. This has been the vacation of a lifetime. Screw Amsterdam lol

glad to hear you having fun man!

Check this out - an RV with a grow room...if you could pump out like 2 ounces a week somehow, you could sell it as you get to knew cities, and have it finance everything. Idk how large of an area you'd need to come up with 2 zips a week. And it would have to be super stealth, not sure if they do inspections when they pull you over in an RV.
edit - OR, I might get a cheap RV, buy some cheap ass land on the west coast, and camp in the RV on my property with my crops and sell to dispensaries and shit until I have money to build a real house and get a new car.

We started off early in the trip getting a pound of buds for helping trim for a relative (see picture above). It smelled so strong I was afraid that a routine traffic stop would lead to arrest so we left that in our relative's storage shed (in a nice oak chest). Here is one of the bud stalks...

Sorry for the picture quality, I am still trying to learn how to use this Android phone camera. I am sure it is capable of better photos than that.

I didn't think I would be able to sell of any of this bud to survive in California. All the bud we have seen here so far are better than what we just trimmed. (Maybe it will be better after a cure). We just barely had time to dry ours before we left, and in fact it is not really that dry yet. A fellow named Raul gave us (it was sort of a trade) for two kilo of frosty bud trim. I made hash of that today so that I do not have to worry about the smell. We got about an 30 grams of hash if you can believe that, and it is pretty good. I used dry ice and nylon stocking over a coffee can. I am sure we left some resin on that trim, it was really frosty. I would be perfectly fine smoking joints of that trim.

We are traveling with about 50 grams of various strains of weed and a few kinds of hash. Our medicine bag is kind of a big laptop case full of jars. We are all out of our own bud that we brought down and haven't spent any real money yet. I did some work for the trim, traded the buds we had for some of the California stuff and every time I have tried to buy buds we ended up trading or getting it for free. We have a couple pounds of dried mushrooms and everyone is trying to get them from us. I thought they would come in handy in the bigger cities. Everything we have gotten has been called some kind of kush I think. I have not seen anything sativa leaning yet. Maybe we will see that in the bigger cities, but I bet it cost us an arm and leg.

We are going to head down the coast to San Fransisco Sunday. I made that trip years ago on a motorcycle and it was not all that exciting. Still, I want to go to SF and that is pretty much the most direct route. Last time I made that trip I didn't make it all the way to San Francisco the coastal route and cut over to Clear Lake. I really liked that part of the trip. I had to get to San Diego in a hurry that time.

I am looking forward to spending about half a day in San Francisco and then on to Mendocino. All my life I heard about the buds there and I have never had any of the actual signature strains there (like Mendocino Purple). I am sure Mendocino will be more in my price range than the Bay Area. I love the Bay Area, but I will never be able to afford to hang in a place like that.

This evening I got pretty high and was out walking my dog. I had this funny vision. He sleeps in the back seat of the truck while we are driving. Once we get to a new place he is so excited to just explore where ever we end up. He pops out of truck and just wants to go pee on everything. He is so content all the time. I could only hope to ever be as happy as he is to just go with the flow and enjoy life. He makes me feel young watching him enjoy the simple things. He really loves to go out at night.
