Quick ways to masks smells

Turn OFF any oscillating fans that would be blowing the leaves around. The more you move them, the more they stink.
I would also suggest turning off your homes ac to help keep from trying to suck air out of the grow room. At least turn it off just before they get there if you need to cool or heat the place down.

Well with a newborn here I've got lots of guests coming over and a few short visits I need 110% proof smell masking abilities. Now I run a can 100 in each room that's over 180 pounds of carbon combined AND one is brand new I just replaced a older one last week.

after rush pointed out a post by grow master indicating that if you wash your carbon filter with cold water and let it dry that it will be as good as new I did this to my old can 100 and it's nice and dry now.

Two issues going on here. The first one being "Wash your carbon filter with cold water and let it dry and it will be good as new"

You need heat to reactivate carbon, but thats beside the point. REPLACE THE CARBON.

Figure out your priorities. Growing is serious,it's not for everybody.

Ozone generator..
I have one that is about 3 years old, runs almost continually. Smells clorineish... can be run on a timer and almost silent (2.5"ish computer fan and light bulb (ozone)).

http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/cap-ozn1-ozone-generator-up-to-5500-sq-ft-p-632.html

I paid $84 for mine 3 years ago ^^^ $111.00 shop around maybe cheaper somewhere else. I exhaust into my garage and run it in there.. can be used to control mold.. I think too much ozone is not good but this one, unless you put into a small closet and hang out in there, wont reach negative levels in reasonably large areas.

have you ever tested that unit with test strips to see if its save for living areas?

just asking, the test strips are cheap. i've tested the ones i use. they are small, but safe...

the website says Ozone output is 1000 mg/hr. mine only outputs 100 mg.hr and can probably only cover a couple hundred sq feet. mine covers my needs, just always keeping my options open...

btw, i paid $69 for mine

Make some munchies for your guests. Sausage balls, deviled eggs, bacon pineapple kabobs, chili beans and onions in the crock pot, etc. Get a cooler full of Bud Light. By the time they start the beer and egg farts you'll be ready to show em the door.

negative air pressure in the room your growin willl keep all the smells out of the house.

great but what exactly is negative air pressure in plain english? air going out faster than it is coming in? I hear that term thrown around a lot but no one ever explains it.

priorities? man you priority is coming off as a asshole for no reason it appears.
#1 if you read you would see i just REPLACED my entire carbon filter so this reactivation was done on a EXTRA filter. i have more filtration then most people run. also for your information replacing carbon is a horrible idea unless you own one of the vibration tables used within the manufacturing facilities use to compact the pellets so no air pathways exist that would allow air to flow without coming in contact with carbon since the air will take the path of least resistance so consistency is highly important but I'm sure you knew that or maybe you are a micro grower and have no idea of the complexity when dealing with larger filters.

#2 this thread was not about explaining how to reactivate a carbon filter but since you want the details i've set it up to have air pushed through it coming from the exhaust of multiple 1k lights which produce HEAT as my method of drying it i just didn't know i'd be called not serious if i didn't provide every detail not relevant to the information i was seeking. there is over 300lbs of carbon in filters in my home along with a ozone generator i know how to mask smells just fine I'm looking for unique methods of coverup to ensure under no circumstance is even the slightest scent smelled.

#3 i'm a legal medical grower with a great track record i just dont usually come to ic mag i'm highly active multiple other locations. if you think it's smart to make a judgement about me not being serious because of your ASSumptions do me a favor look around for my screen name and you will see not only am i serious but i've helped hundreds of other serious growers from start to finish on and offline and am a moderator elsewhere. because i wanted to find unique methods i posted this thread on multiple sites knowing most of us stick to one site.

dont pick apart irrelevant details of my post and yet provide no relevant input on this conversation then insult me by implying im not serious that's the definition of trolling, feel free to see yourself out.

everyone else thanks for being cool and providing me with some great ideas!

simple bro it's like a vacuum like how a vacuum sealer sealed bag would work. once the air is all sucked out if it were to spring a leak in that bag the negative pressure would suck air IN to the bag instead of air coming out of the bag, it's just a vacuum.

a example of how this could work in a grow room would be a exhaust in the room slightly larger then the cfm abilities of the intake thus causing negative pressure in the room. too much negative pressure this way would do a number on your exhaust fan though. the only place stinky air from the room should be leaving in this setup is from the exhaust which should be controlled via a carbon filter.

Burn some scented candles..........Chicks love candles so it won't raise any eyebrows like incense might.

VINEGAR! Grow 2003-2004 without any carbon filters or hitech in condo, just vinegar to the plate and let it suck all bad odours. Vinegar spiky smell isn't bothering anyone as long you don't put vinegar plates everywhere.

Other suggestions in this thread(other than ozone etc. devices) are horrible. They mask, yes, but not diminish/get rid of smell as vinegar does. Also it is cheap. :tiphat:

Con is that, plate can turn around easily, so it may cause some unwanted mess.

Why do you think ozone gens are 'horrible'? IYM, vinegar may be better, OK, and it may be, but something else is 'horrible'? Open you mind my friend. Like you said, pros and cons.
