My landlord wants to come in and check for leaks..I need to tear down asap. I rented a uhaul van, how do I get the plants in to the van on the low. I live in a small town, but people are nosey.

I have about 10 3 gallon plants that are about 30 days in. 2 tents(one just set up, not working thank god)...and a few knick nacks.

How do I move these plants to the outside without people noticing?

Thanks

Maybe buy some wardrobe boxes if they aren't too tall.

A refrigerator box if they're big.

Good luck.

Thanks Yort, I figured that part out. I just need to know how to get the plants out of the house without someone seeing them. I live in a 4 apartment house...and I do not have a private entrance...I need to either cover them with something or store them in something.

Any help on that?

nosey people are going to notice a u haul ...... i have moved full size plants in cardboard cylinders before, make a cylinder a little bigger than the pot and drop the whole thing in pot first. works like when they stuff your christmas tree through the funnel and into the mesh sock.

i gotta ask ...... what the fuck is leaking?

yeah try backing it up right to a window or something. If not get tall boxes. Landlord has to give you 24 hours notice I think. A lot of times "checking for leaks" or other claims by the landlord is really just a ploy to check up on his or her property. You'll be okay man just play it cool. Though, I would NOT want to drive that uhaul. Uh uh, no way. They'd say it was a new growing technique, garden on wheels...like a rolling meth lab, and there'd be so much publicity the DA would put every ounce of energy into prosecuting.

i had a similar prob a month or 2 back, had to have a gas safety check on the house im renting and the boiler was slap bang in the middle of my grow room, in a day i decked the whole loft out, put all plants up there and stripped the room for the gas man to walk in and walk straight back out and i mean all the lights and fans were was piled up in my back bedroom but he didnt need to go in there, i hope it works out for you like it did me bro

Thats pretty suspicious he wants to come back and check for leaks? Why on earth would he come back if there is a leak? A leak needs to be attended to immediately. Last time this happened to me I told them I need to move some boxes. Well less than 3 minutes later they were knocking on my door again saying we need in right now.

Anyway, I've done this before, you can either use a tall cardboard box or use a large trash bag to put over the plant. Move the plants in the early morning (2-3am).

I kind of confused about the time frame. Its been my experience that if the landlord thinks there is a leak they will just show up to verify and fix if needed. Water damage is an expense that most owners don't want to deal with if they can avoid it.

I don't envy your position. Good luck and stay safe!

Load up in the dead of night. It will look suspicious to anyone that may be up though, but that's what I would do. Like 2,3,4 a.m. just load it up and be done with it. If they are far along in flower I would be more worried about leaving the UHaul full of stanky cannabis plants parked on the street than somebody possibly seeing you load up your truck

something's off about "checking for leaks."

What kind of leaks? Is he getting high water bills and wants to check for leaky toilets? Or does he want to see if there's any water leaking?

If the latter, they wouldn't ask. If they suspect leaking water it's because it's leaking into somewhere else and they would simply come straight in as it's reasonably an emergency. Landlords have the right to enter without notice when damage could occur to the structure.

If it sounds fishy you need to consider that he suspects something and is checking you out.

edit, I didn't see your post^^^ But I'm all in with the logic

24 hours of dark won't kill them, don't park the thing in the sun.If you have a clip-on/cigarette lighter powered fan...use it...10 x 3 gallons is all of what, as long as it takes to go back and forth 5 times...10 minutes?

My question would be is that a legitimate reason for him wanting in,as in is there really a leak?

Or is it an iSpy mission?

hey guys, just checking in. He isn't checking for leaks. He was complaining about the water bill. He says it went up $400 over the past few months. The guy also had a new meter put in.

He was just here...I showed him my RO unit..I told him I just drink water now..so I needed clean water. Keep in mind I just got the thin like 3 weeks ago....and he said he had noticed a spike in his bill over the past 3 months. There are also 3 other families living in this house...so it is probably not even my fault. I haven't even begun to use the ro system except to hand water every couple days and to drink from.

He thinks the meter is faulty.... he said the water department is just going to check my bathroom and stuff...so there should be no reason to venture in to unwanted territories.

The guy just showed up out of the blue...fuck! Good thing he goes away for half of the year. Good riddance!

And guys, thanks for all the quick responses. I promise to be more active, so that I can learn..and be there for others on this forum like all of you guys were here for me. Thanks so much

whenever I came across this EXACT problem...

Go down to the grocery store and tell them you are needing a bunch of paper bags for a can food drive your church is doing. They'll be more than glad to help.

Put the plant in one bag, take another, turn it upside down and place it over the top of the plant. If they are too bushy...take some yarn and wrap around the lower branches and kinda tie them up.

This WORKS very well....and costs ya nothing. All you are doing is carrying some paper bags according to the neighbors.
