day 26 MAT x CHEM

On the other side of the hall, we have the OG kush x C99, donated graciously by a very special friend :tiphat: :thank you:

Some definite variation with little stretch to massive stretch on some of these ladies. While I was crawling around on my hands and knees checking blumats and pots, I got a wonderful sweet fruity wiff that was overpowering!! I have no idea which lady it was, as I was chest deep in plants, but she's there, and I'll find her, and certainly a great keeper from one of these 5 :dance013:

beaners... I love little seedlings!!! :tiphat: They are sitting under inadequate lighting (like all my veg space it seems!)... Small CFLs and they got their first feeds just recently. That's all good, they have some time to grow out, and will only be flowered in a 1 gallon in the HALL here in some weeks time

ultra sonja... mutant grew out just fine, not even stalled :dance013:

Fun story :comfort:... More mislabeling has determined I have two purp girls in the vert pod, and no mikado99... All she is, is dust in the wind!!

Bummer, gotta stop doing stoned labeling, especially with all these new beans and projects I'm planning... No back up mother for her anywhere, so I've decided to step up my pollen chucking and start backing up some of these cuts with some crosses in seed form...

Gonna use the beer cup challenge to find a decent male and cross him to all my clones...

Also, gonna find some stellar ultra sonja males which will be crossed to my clones as well... The pollen chucking shall begin soon :tiphat:

Until then, the two purp ladies

Hey seedee, thanks for swinging by bro.

The mat/chem, everyone is raging about it! I can't wait to get a sample for myself. Already have her cloned and lined up for the next round in the pod based on all the great reviews, so there will be more mat/chem after this round for sure!

The US is coming along nicely (12/12 germ). I set aside two slower growers and have 10 beautiful, uniform plants. All have been topped and will be cloned asap. The best males will be kept for pollen. Females will be tested in the hall. All clones will be crossed to the males, as well as F2s made :tiphat:

Cheers to reddy1 and grindhouse most definitely!

Some super lemon haze and ultra sonja seeders

Almost ready to be cloned for sex :jump:

The 15 best (10 US and 5 SLH), the two slower growing sonjas were moved to a different veg area and most likely culled unless they start doing something amazing

POD updates day 39

POD updates day 39

39 and rockin' along... Buds seem to be a little smaller than in the HALL, but are bulking up nonetheless. Not sure if that is from constant pruning, no blumats (less consistent feedings), some sort of pest...

Started SM-90 in the mix as a preventative and treated all plants with a mild dose of azamax two weeks ago. I have fungus gnats and have been catching them with sticky traps as well... Might try to find some spinosad (sp??) but the problem isn't bad and may just ride it out with the SM-90 for the rest of the grow to try to counteract any root damage... They are under control for now...

Enough type, more pics...

hey nickman, nice to have you by

Gonna run my HALL updates here in a min, but I'll answer your questions first and then post some pics :tiphat:

In the HALL, no hoods. Bare bulbs. 400w HPS and 250w HPS... the 400 is in the back by my extraction fan so the extra heat doesn't have to travel over all the plants before being removed from the room.

The two sockets are connected to a large piece of plywood ~2' x 8' with two L shaped brackets. The plywood is covered in panda film, so I guess it is kinda like a hood... Just a real long, flat hood... Panda is also on each end bouncing the light back towards the plants so it can't escape to the sides...

I really like having it flat for a couple reasons...

It lets plants grow above the bulb on the sides and they are still in good light where a traditional hood focuses most of the light in a small area straight down. Compounded by the fact that I have two lights, I think it allows me to grow in a longer area because of the light bouncing off my 'hood.' The middle plants are taking in the light from the 250 and 400, where if I had traditional hoods, they probably wouldn't be able to fit without a wider space and would be sitting in the shade in this setup...

It also allows for great airflow directly over the bulbs towards my extraction fan, effectively creating a cool air barrier between most of the buds and the bulbs...

Did I mention I'm cheap ;)

Pics seem to be working fine. I logged out and can see them all... If it's still and issue, try reloading the page. Either that or you were just too quick with the trigger finger as I came back and edited them in ;)

Cheers brother

Whtas up loudog , what's the smell your getting off your chemxmat. Right about that point I was getting a wet fungus smell like I had a basement full of boomers in full bloom.

L

LouDog420

Yo seedee, checked out the mat/chem girl and this is the best I can do to describe her aroma... Not overpowering, relatively mild/low odor so far...

First recognized smell is definitely a sweet/fruity. The mainstay and it's a relatively mild candy sweet, non overpowering smell. There is a bit of funk in the background, like a drawer of old moldy socks that was opened in another other room and you are just starting to get the first wiffs of it while sitting in your living room, getting ready to puff a doob of course...

Got some developments on a outdoor strain I'm working on for anyone interested. Check out the casey jones grow along for more info (see my sig) as I have too much going on in this thread already... Just a quick summary here.....

This year was the second season (first season inbreeding) outdoors. Original cross was a two part:

Casey Jones (9females) x Sour Bubble Male (selected from 3 for smelly lime scent and relatively fast growth... as fast as sour bubble can get.)

and

Sour bubble (2 females, both had a good sour/lime taste/smell. One was branchy - current clone - and the other was more of a bean pole - tossed) x Casey Jones Males (4 males, open pollination)

This year, I popped all my CJxSb and SbxCJ to let them do their thing outside... I also added a few (a couple of each so I could fill out my cloner with 36 plants ;)) CJ F2s and SB F2s....

Let's just say this first season's results were very encouraging :jump: Swing by the Grow Along ;)

Cheers,
Louie

That describes my other chemat to a tee. I think that might be the usual pheno . I have talked with a few others and got that same description. Nice love to see her when she is about to be choped
