that's been my experience with water cure. I don't go on water cure threads to start shit, but if it gets brought up otherwise I love to chime in and warn anyone who wants to try a water cure - IT'S NASTY AND IT WILL NOT MAKE HARSH SMOKE SMOOTH! So far, from harsh weed, water cure yields harsh, tasteless weed.

If your bud is imperfect and you want to process it, make hash. You have come this far, why mess up your work post-harvest?

I would agree the taste is akin to "burnt rope", the appearance is an embarrassement, and the buds shrink up to almost nothing.

For me however. One bowl of water cure gets me higher than one bowl of air/jar cured bud, the high seems cleaner, and edibles made from watercure have less of a chlorophyl taste.

I cure in 1 gallon glass containers with 1/3 leaf/bud and 2/3 water. I change the water in the containers 2 or 3 times per day. I would hypothesis that a larger ratio of water to cannabis would yield better results or at least require less frequent changing. With bud I wait for it to settle to the bottom (10-14 days) and with leaf I now give it about 7 days then crockpot it with butter.

It seems to be something people either like or hate. I would suggest to anyone who wants to attempt a watercure to start with a small quantity. My first attempt tasted much worse than my second and progressive attempts.

Sounds like the water cure saved your life. Water cured weed tastes just like jar cured only 99.44% less. Complaining about lack of smell or taste is like complaining that your airplane left the ground. If you don't want to leave the ground, don't get on the plane. Don't hate the process for working.

Safer, smoother, cooler smoke in 8 days.

or...

Dangerous, harsher, hotter smoke in 90 days.

Water curing for me.

Switched over to water cure for my outdoors.

Besides washing out all the buds from shit/seeds/hair/everything else from the season, it allows me to push my plants feeding into the last 2 weeks and not have to worry about harshness.

It has also given my strains a very nice dark purple/blue almost black look in comparison to non-water cured stuff. Strains are Nirvana Bubblicious and DinaFem PowerKush at 50lat.

My harvest went from sub-par to excellent quality after a 7 day cure. Also added a bag of ice every day to the tub, not sure if that helped with the purp or what.

I have tried water cure and it worked for me. Weed is not as tasty, but definitely doesn't smell bad. You may have needed a couple more water changings if it smells bad.
The high is fine, but it does shrink your buds, and doesn't help with "bag appeal" if you are slinging. Other than that, it's a nice way to quick cure part of your crop when you just can't wait for a full cure before you sample your goods. Also useful if you haven't flushed your herb for one reason or another. In fact, if you plan on water curing a bunch, you probably can skip the flush all together. It has it's place and can be useful. Not for those selling their gear.

ya know...I may do some watercure for the stuff I'm using for butter. I hate the gag taste...I found banana bread works best for masking it. Good suggestion! Thanks!

you are going to either hate it or love it. There is no middle here. I dont like it myself but that does not mean others dont enjoy water curing method.
