I tryed searching for a thread about this

I watched it yesterday

funny :)

I don't totally get the idea of a roast.. it's like some kind of humiliation but you have to be strong or something I dunno...
I would have a hard time not taking those remarks personal or letting them affect me

the shit these people said to each other wow.

the biggest theme for everybody seemed to be

"im somebody"

"you are not"

the biggest accusation (most repeated) about charlie seemed to be that he was "somebody but fucking it up"

seemed kinda pathetic really :)

The Sheen roast was good but the Bob Saget was even better. John Stamos was the roast master and I never thought he could be funny but he had me going pretty good. Lots of jokes about Bob liking the olson twins to sit on his lap :biglaugh:

Steve-O was a waste of time. Mike Tyson is still scary as ever. Steve-O breaking his own nose on Tyson's fist at the end was ridiculous. Some of the jokes that were told were just plain wrong. We got two new words out of it: 1)Sheenis: when a hooker puts cocaine on your penis and 2)Sheenius: the genius that is Charlie Sheen. Overall it was one of the better roasts IMO.

jeff ross killed it.

"charlie sheen is alot like bruce willis, he was huge in the 80's and now ashton kutcher is in his old slot"
comedy gold!

iron mike's jokes were ok, but his delivery was terrible.
the one about seth being like the illiad, biting off homer was his best.

that patrice cat was truly offended w/ them riding him bout his diabetes.
totally gave up his writings and just basically cried about how cruel every1 was, lol pussy

Great roast. Schumer and Jeselnik were the best of the roasters. I had heard of nothing of either before this show.

Tyson was nervous but did ok, Steve-O should stick to stunts. Lovitz is too nice for such humor. I do not think Sheen was at all angry or hurt by any of it. He looked to be enjoying the whole thing.

***SPOILER***

well what about... mike fucked up a lot of faces in his carrer but... ironically the one he fucked up the most was his own...

I think I would have shed a tear if I was mike :)

Dean Martin > Comedy Central

Roasts are my favorite outlet of comedy, but the Charlie Sheen roast was below average.

Sagat
Hoff
Larry the cable guy
Hef
Pam

were all better.

I have never laughed so hard as I have watching a Comedy Central roast. It's such a monotonous style of humor, but it works for that brief period of time. Gottfried's bit on the Joan Rivers roast (here) was the one of the greatest things I've ever seen, mostly because of the storytelling genius he possesses.

Ross was standard Ross (awesome) and Jeselnik was awesome. I actually enjoyed Jon Lovitz's performance a lot. There's so much fake racism and bigotry during the roasts, it almost seems wrong, but it isn't. Patrice O'Neal was a huge disappointment.

It's just too bad Greg Giraldo wasn't there.

You should check out the Dean Martin Roasts. REAL stars, being REAL vicious. The Don Rickles one is outstanding.

Geraldo, Ross, Lampineli were great, the others have all just been doing poor imitations on the 1970's roasts.

FWIW my favorite was Norm 'playing to the back of the house' during the Saget roast. Those jokes were so fucking awful, it was magnificent.

Shit, now im downloading the Dean Martin Roast Redd Foxx roast right now. Orin Wells, Abe Vigota, Rickles, Milton Berl, all on the dias, how can you go wrong.
