I use soil, but here is what I use with Maxibloom:
Silica Blast- now Protekt Silica (more concentrated)
Liquid Karma
SM90

Liquid KoolBloom-beginning all the way until powder
Powdered Koolbloom- last 2 weeks before flush

Getting great results! Feed - plain water - alternating

merlot,do you really notice a difference from using the kb or not using it?

I really haven't done a side by side with just plain Maxi and Maxi+KB at the same time.. I have done a run with just only Maxi with no additives. I definitely think it is better with Maxi + KB... everything has been turning out great.. with great flavor as well. Just have to flush really hard at the end...

I use Maxigro in veg.. some strains I have will get a cal/mag deficiency.. feed with Maxigro.. and they correct right away.

What I always found funny, is that buying the 16lb bag of Maxi isn't saving you any money from buying the 2.2lb bag at the local hydro store here
2.2lb bag = $13.42 $6.10 per lb
16lb bag = $103.25 = $6.45 per lb

Is my math off? Or is that just a shitty bulk price lol :ying:

Maybe he figures the big boys are willing to pay more.

Also by making smaller amounts more economical for the avg grower he increases return visits to his store, hoping they buy other stuff while they are there.

When do you use the KB and how much?

When I looked at getting the big tub of Maxi it was the same deal, makes no sense to buy the large unless you are using a shitload of it.

Sounds like your hydro guy is bending you over. Should be cheaper. A lot cheaper.

Seems like the online prices are similar. Odd that GH would price it that way if so?

The liquid I add with maxibloom at the start of flower, at 1 tsp/gal. I use the Powdered Koolbloom at 1/4tsp per gal during the last 2 weeks. Then flush with plain h20 for about the last week. I feed with the additives every other watering. The feeding mix usually comes out at 2 EC, 1000ppm

I agree, I would buy the big tub as I do use quite a bit of Maxi.. but it doesn't make any sense since it isn't more convenient nor cheaper..

Same way at my local store and most places on line, there is one store online that I've found that is cheaper to buy the 16# one but they been out for a while. Got the 50# bucket in stock though :yoinks:....

I run ro/di water starting out between .04 and .17 depending on the life of the De-Ionisation stage. Maxigro in veg with some protekt to bring the ph up and maxibloom in flower with some protekt for the same reason. I give the the flowering plants low doses (1/24 - 1/6 tsp/g total res volume) powdered kool bloom when the buds are starting to form, and a day or two before res changes. I used to add calmag plus to the maxibloom at the begining of flower because everyone claims it is required in ro water, but haven't added any in the last 6 rounds and everything is doing fine.

Anyone else notice the variation in color from one bag of mb to the next? I've gotten bags that made bright pink, light pink, orange, and yellowish nutrients. I think the person who is supposed is be adding the coloring to the mix may be ripping the bong a little too much at work...:bongsmi:

Here it is kinda yellow 2tsp/gal the last bag I had was very pink like koolaid at the same strength. When I first saw the different color I thought they made it change color with water ph, but it's not related.

Straight MB for me in coco. I haven't noticed any major differences since dropping the boosters. But I'll probably try some again on my next grow, just for kicks.

Fat Flower?

Fat Flower?

I been using fat flower to boost my buds in my aero/hydro sytem with 3 parts gh nutes. It seems to work a little but i get burning with this product and on the lable it said it was normal. Does all bud boosters burn your plants. I know not to use much because of this. Anyone use this product? Please chime in. I also want toget some bud candy and wonder if i can use with the fat flower or maybe get a better bud booster.

Please stop using Gravity. There are plenty of threads covering why you shouldn't use it, especially if you're growing meds for others.

Never needed drip clean either... not in 10 years of GH use and 3 years of maxibloom. People will buy anything though. :(

You would also do better to switch the Cal/Mag for epsom salts. Your plants only need the mag and will benefit from the sulphur. No need for the extra nitrogen and calcium, you're not growing trees.

Maxibloom, Pro-Tekt (or other silicate) and a good quality bloom booster (if you like). Should you find a strain that needs extra magnesium... get a bag of horticultural grade epsom salts for a few dollars... it'll last you 10 years.

As long as you keep up the proper pH swing.... you shouldn't ever see any deficiencies using Maxibloom, it's all in there.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

same here, other than recently, i use maxi series, great stuff, and i do occasionally use cal mag, but not religiosly, usually only in the 4-6 week of veg, and again in the second week of flower. i usse hygromite for media, so i dont even use silica, since the hygromite leaches it naturally!
tried boosters in the past and always burned my plants and if used early enough, can even force plants to hermie!
