Budget Noob Mix

Im part way into my first grow and its time for me to repot

I was given 3 clones in pots, so I have no idea what mix they are in at the moment

I already have a bag of perlite, but thats it, and Im pretty much skint at the moment so would be unable to shell out for 10 different bags for some super mix

Can anyone either recommend or post a link for a nice basic mix, thats not going to cost an arm and a leg

Based in the Uk, if this has any relevance

Thanks in advance

Dig some dirt of ground on which nettle is growing. I would use a lot of that if I was broke like you. Get a bag of worm poo to enrich the soil and beware for insekts in the dirt.

Good luck:tiphat:

Was thinkin more along the lines of a garden centre type compost rather than totally free

Have heard mixed things about miracle-grow, and was wondering if there was a better option?

I'm watering with tap water (which is slightly alkaline? right?), so should I be looking for something slightly acidic?

Excuse my ignorance if I've got some of this wrong

John Innes #2, be sure to add plenty of perlite.

Avoid J. Arthur Bower's like the plague.

Westland chicken manure pellets are dirt cheap and are a very good organic fert. But use them sparingly...they pack plenty of punch.

There's a thread on various UK garden centre composts somewhere in the depths of the UK forum....

Miracle Grow does have an organic mix you might want to check on
