little trick used on the street. When you bag your medicine give it gentle squeeze. This way when the custi opens for the first time he/she is smacked with goodness :). Gentle squeeze gets that smell flowing :).

i use 420jars.com and cannafresh jars. youll love them

the problem with pickle jars and such is the smell is cooked into the lid.

Damn, I've been looking for a good place to buy jars for a looong time. 420jars is awfully close, but they're just trying to clip a guy a bit to much. Some of their small jars are $30, and the large latch top is $60, wtf.

Case of fresh large mouth quart canning jars, 8 dollars brand new, and they carry them at 90 percent of grocery stores. When your done with them you can use them for canning food :)

heh, quart is WAAAAYYY too small. I need gallon at least, 1.5, 2, or even 2.5 is preferred though. And I still need at least a handful of those.

They have decent 1.5 and 2.5 gallon "montana" jars at Target, but the lids have a soft rubber seal that isn't perfectly air tight (close, but stinky strains end up filling up the room the jar's in).

Ideal would be brown glass or uv blocking glass, 2 gallon, wide mouth with screw on or snap top air tight lid.

Finding wide mouth jars is fairly easy, bigger sizes a little harder, with right lid harder yet still looking, and with uv blocking glass I've never seen one bigger than a pint; I figure I'll never find a big wide mouth tight sealing jar with uv blocking glass.

Anyone have a lead on colored (green, brown) canning jars? I'm looking for something that keeps the light from hitting/degrading the finished product.

when you start growing with more than 1000watts... turkey bags are a lot easier to handle and do a fine job. we don't use jars anymore for curing. we use jars to save buds for future comparisons.
so... if you grow more than a pound, consider turkey bags.

Anyone know how to get rid of the bad smell in new jars? Does the strong rubbing alcohol work for this issue? (think i tried that already)
I've had ounces overpowered with a nasty smell from the jar lid using newly purchased then washed jars.
I'd bought 3 different packs of mason jars at different walmrts and months apart, they all SMELLED LIKE ASS when opened first time out of the package. I washed them hot water and dish soap, let dry & air, weeks later after curing in those jars bud STILL has the original nasty ass smell. I know it wasn't the bud being perfectly grown ECSD and BB Blue Cheese which obviously picked up the reeking ass scent after being inside jar. It seems to come from the lid?

I needed jars, so bought the biggest jars in the supermarket.
Of course those are pickle jars!
I scrubbed those jars over & over, but it did no good.
Herb still smelled like pickles.
Now I know why.
Back in the day, we would put a thin slice of orange in with the ganja, and it would have an orange/ citrus smell.
Just leave it overnight or you will get mold.
It smells quite good, actually.
