Texas is ending the special "last meal" before executions. How do you feel?

Lawrence Russell Brewer was just executed in texas. for his last meal, he ordered the following...
two chicken fried steaks smothered in gravy with sliced onions, a triple-meat bacon cheeseburger, a cheese omelet with other ingredients, a large bowl of fried okra with ketchup, three fajitas, a pint of Blue Bell ice cream and a pound of barbecue with a half-loaf of white bread.
The meal request also included a slab of peanut butter fudge with crushed peanuts, a pizza and three root beers.

he didn't eat any of it. Now texas wants their last meal to be the same as every inmate.


so how do you feel. I think he did order an extensive amount of food, in excess of what 1 person could eat for 1 meal. for some reason, I think they should get it, im not really sure why i fell that way. I think they should maybe put a monetary limit on their last meal, limit the portions, so if someone wants a bunch of different things, they aren't getting full servings.

Don't really care one way or other. Considering what's coming after, that's the least of their worries. In the case of murderers, did they let their victims get a final treat? Yeah, they can eat a dick as their final meal.

A good friend of mines Daughter was murdered by her boyfriend in Florida about 4 years ago.This POS got life without the possibility of parole.We all were hoping for the death penalty,but it was not in the cards.My opinion being biased as it is would vote for no last meal,but that is not a poll option. i think that the death penalty should be carried out almost immediately, because sitting in a cell for decades with your death looming overhead is cruel and unusual punishment.

I also think the convicted person should have a choice of death or life in prison.

As for the food thing...I kind of always had the feeling that people will shit themselves when they get electrocuted or whatever...and there would be shit everywhere.

Almost all of the stories I've seen about the last meal" end with the guy not eating it, just looking at it.

they shouldn't even get the death penalty. it is wrong. they should just be forced to stay in prison until they die. after appeal costs it is cheaper anyway.

Due to the courts being fucked, the crime labs being fucked, etc, no the system is not currently dependable enough for the death penalty and I doubt it ever will be.

kinda have to be with that as well... we know the system has convicted & murdered innocent people. question becomes, could this ever be me? and the answer is yes, it could... just need to be at the wrong place @ the wrong time, and better yet if you look the wrong way.

that being said, some people do some fucked up things... and will 'deserve' some fucked up consequence... our courts aren't designed to dole out justice though.

As a Texan I can tell you we are quite proud of the death penalty and it's enforcement. The rest of the country combined doesn't have the balls we have. If you want to fuck around I suggest you do it in a different state, as we will fry your ass without hesitation. In our defense, we do warn everyone: "Don't mess with Texas". That being said, I don't think they should get any special last requests. In fact, I wouldn't mind if we started starving them to death.

I think that they might deserve some type of last meal, a steak or something , but not like 10 diferent things - he' has just ruined it for all the other death row inmates, thnx alot dick!, lol
