:jump: All,

Hope everyone is doing as well as myself.

Just picked up some nutes and need advise with building a schedule around what i have (beyond what the packaging says). I know some of you might recommend other brands/products and i look forward to hearing suggestions. If you are going to suggest others, try to also let me know how you would plan out a schedule with what I just purchased.

  • (Advanced Nutrients) Sensi-Bloom part A - 1L (liquid) $31.20
  • (Advanced Nutrients) Sensi-Bloom part B - 1L (liquid) Bundle (A/B)
  • (Humboldt County's Own) Gravity Flower Hardener - 236ml (liquid) $27 :moon:
  • (Grotek) Monster Bloom - 130g (powder) $12
  • (Advanced Nutrients) Voodoo Juice - 250ml (liquid) FREE! :ying:

I learn soooo much here, i just want to take a moment to :tiphat: @ everyone for their time and talent!

You're over my head with all those products, I've never used any of them myself. Hopefully you'll get an answer from somebody that knows, if not you can send a PM to one of the IC mentors.

I've used the AN part a and b. I didn't really care for it, thought it was just over priced. I use GH three part on all my grows now (indoors and out, in soil). There are a couple of formulas you can use with the GH, the Lucas formula (I've never tried this one), and the Useless formula, I use the useless formula exclusively. The only other thing I add is GH KoolBloom in week five flower, which I just happened to do yesterday. See the videos in my sig, the results speak for themselves.

The best advice I can give, especially if you've never grown before is, keep it simple and a little goes a long way. Good luck and grows em big!

Yep, I just looked that stuff up, that is very similar to the powdered KoolBloom I use. If you use the monster bloom, I'd do it at week 5 flower and go half strength from whatever the bottle says. If you are using the AN stuff with it also, I'd adjust whatever ratios of that to be 1/8th of what you would normally do in week five flower. So to be clear, week five flower, reduce AN to1/8th the amount you are supposed to use and then do the monster bloom at half strength of what the bottle says. Bottom line, be careful because that monster bloom will mess your stuff up good if used wrong.

KGB47 - Im just as overwhelmed. :comfort: I went into the hydro store to understand my options and walked out spending $75 on this stuff!! and look at me now, dont even know how to use it! I was not aware there were/are IC mentors, how do i find them? I believe everyone here is a mentor. :tiphat:

Bueno Time - ATM i am using FFOF soil, I started them in an AeroGarden and transplanted into soil 3 weeks ago tomorrow. :muahaha: Going forward, i plan on building an ebb and flow setup for my mini cab.

Midnight - Curiosity has me... you said "i didnt really care for it" could you elaborate? At this point i have no brand loyalty and  i might return these for another brand if you believe it will make a difference. I looked at the GH and ive heard lots of people use them, but the employee at HTG didnt show it to me as an option when i was there. Ive never heard of lucas or useless formulas. Very impressive videos in your grow btw, :respect:, wish i had the option to grow outdoors and the plants are looking soooo healthy, congrats!

jonnybgood29 - The monster directions read:
Directions for use:
Start using Monster Bloom when buds are forming and continue to use with every fertilizer application during the blooming cycle. Stop using during last two weeks of flowering.

Hydroponics: Use 6 g (1 tsp.) per 19 L (5gal) of nutrient solution. Add to every nutrient solution.
Soil/Soilless: Use 6 g (1 tsp) per 19 L (5 gal) of water. Use every time you fertilize.
:yeahthats

Where the guy at HTG, told me i should use from first developing buds, until a week before flushing (so 2 weeks before harvest). When do you start to use it??

Midnight - First off, :thank you: for checking back in with more advise. It means a lot to me as a newbie with nutes! Secondly, How does the cost of KoolBloom compare / Would you switch it out with my monster bloom? Sounds like quite strong stuff to be cutting back on base nutes to 1/8th... and even at 1/2 strength.... This current run is bagseeds, i have received Northern Light and Snow White from Nirvana :jump: and they will be used next and future runs (clones) so im definitely trying to work out the kinks in this setup/nute plan with my freebie seeds. I will follow your directions with this stuff, unless it makes more sense for me to return for KoolBloom. :jerkit:

Cheers everyone for the reply's!!!

You could ask or send a PM to a moderator in the grow forums and ask them who the mentors are. Also when people post, right under their avatar it usually shows right there. Good luck! :)

midnight is right, dont use until at least five weeks in flower and drop your other nutes when you do or youll end up with a bunch of burned up hermies! take it easy with allllllll boosters too little is a lot better than too much!

KGB47 - Thanks, I will have to ask. Im looking and dont see any yet under avatars. Any recommendations you may have worked with?

jonnybgood29 - Thank you. The seeds i bought (next and consecutive grows) Are estimated to bloom from 7-9weeks (NL) and 8-10weeks (SW)

If i was to use any of the above as a foliar spray which could be used and when would suggested use be? My best uneducated guess is the Voodoo or Gravity. I plan to switch to flowering in a few days now and want to get my lower branches a strong as possible. I have been tying the tops over for about 2 weeks to train them and stimulate more branching!! Let me know what you think.

Advanced Nutrients website has a very very nice Nutrient Calculator.

I used 1 gal as my reservoir size due to my water jug being an old Arizona Tea gallon container.

Im looking for help matching up my nutrients/boosters/what-have-you with the products they have listed.

3/5 of my nutes are already AN, these are the others...

  • (HCO) Gravity Flower Hardener - ?? Overdrive ??
  • (Grotek) Monster Bloom - (AN) Big Bud

What do you all think?

You seem pretty green behind the ears in regards to this hobby so I'd make it easy on yourself if I were you and return all of the products above. Look into some Jacks Classic 20-20-20 or some DynaGro grow (7-9-5) and use them from start to finish. Fertilizers that are split up into multiple parts just means a nutrient company is trying to get more of your hard earned money.

Follow Homebrewer's advice and get some jacks or dyna gro. You cant go wrong with them....

Homebrewer are you the same person on RIU? if so what's up

I am, though I'm trying to move over here permanently. There is a lot more talent over here and generally people are more mature.

Ive been over here for a while myself... There is knowledgeable over there but like yourself but theres a ton more info here... Anyways welcome... Hope you stay here for a while....

I also recommend both Jack's and Dyna-gro. In my case i use Protekt from Dyna-gro and Jack's Hydro + CalNit in a rdwc setup. This is the cheapest and most complete combo for the money spent, although Dyna-gro fert might be just a tad more complete when it comes to essential micro-nutrients.
