random thought about old propaganda

remember that "this is your brain on drugs" commercial?

The original where the guy starts frying an egg, not the one where that sexy psycho chick starts flipping out to scare the youngins.

I was thinking, I'll take the brain on drugs with a little salt and pepper please, you can keep your untouched raw brain.

I hate how weed is just lumped in with "drugs", this kind of misinformation fosters the gateway mentality, when will people learn that people can and will make informed decisions, whether they are misinformed or not.

You sound like a druggie.

exactly. I do "drugs" everyday like it's my morning coffee. I don't drink coffee. All the people I work with that go home to some sort of alcohol most nights would look down on me if they knew I smoked weed. I'd probably get fired.

But wait a minute, I'm the only one in the office that knows whats up half the time, what is that about?

I get comments all the time, "how do you remember that?" I think the answer would literally blow their minds.

It would come on during saturday morning cartoons too...

Hmmm I'm gunna go cook some eggs and ham

what's not to get. information is used whether it is genuine or not.

The powers that be like to hide facts in scary misinformation, look at the "truth" TV ad campaign about cigarette smoking. The idea was to spread misinformation in order to deter kids from smoking.

The fact that commercials that lump marijuana together with drugs like heroin coexist with beer commercials sends a clear message that beer is good and marijuana with the rest of the illegal drugs are bad.

That is extremely dangerous misinformation. And misinformation is information, just wrong.

So armed with this wrong information, an otherwise smart kid might try some harder drugs, he or she has got drunk and got stoned before, getting stoned is more enjoyable than drunk, therefore other illegal drugs must be good too, right?

I liked Bill Hicks answer to that one...

"I've never looked at an egg and thought it was a fucking brain"
"now, maybe I wasn't getting good shit?"

hey I was just kidding with my "what"...

I agree with you, except for the part where you say "an otherwise smart kid".

if you confuse cannabis as being in the same category with heroin or cocaine, you're a stupid idiot, and such confusion is not justifiable by any means.

afterall, being smart/intelligent is all about being able to discern the real from the false in all its varying degrees.

peace!
