12V fan speed controller...

Hi,
does somebody know about 3A fan speed controller which will not make my fan huming ?

At the moment I'm using controller from Maplin which has a variable V outputs.
Problem is my fan is huming and too noisy for my stealth project.

Can I use 240V speed vontroller on a 12V fan ? (most likely not just asking)

You could use a cellphone charger The voltage on them can be between 4.5 to 9V

I'm using something similar-controller for small trains.
I need 12V and 3A- phone charger isn't good.

Head to radio shack or the source and look for a 1.5v to 12v power source wall unit. Ive used them a few times for comp fans and never had problems.
