Hey everyone been trying to lower the ph in my coco putting 5.8 in and the run off is at 6.1 only in veg stage atm but dont want to have problems with lock out the plants seem to be getting bigger but still want to lower the ph.

I thought it may have to do with i started in RW and then found the h3ad thread and thought ok change from dwc to coco. I transplanted my seedlings (rooted in RW) into the coco i am wondering if this could be why the ph wont drop.
anyhow if any of you coco growers can give me the heads up and chime me in that help heaps :thank you:

will using florakeen ph to 5.8 or 5.5 flush coco out and help me to start correcting the balance of nutes as some lockout at 6.1

Don't worry too much about ph runoff. I am new to coco also and sweated my runoff big time, damn near killing my plants because of my ignorance. One thing I do know is pay attention to what your ph going in is, 5.7-6.0 seems to work for me I use canna coco with maxibloom. Run off will have you frustrated if you focused on that. Hope this helps peace!

please help me help my girls
Also coco is pre-buffered and damn near impossible to flush to get the ph run off in the range your looking for. I ran almost a hundred gallons of water through a 3 gallon pot and run off was different every time to give you an example. If plants are not showing defs and feeding within target range with atleast 20% run off you should be fine. Oh yeah I've also noticed sometimes it actually takes a couple days for the coco to adjust to the ph your trying to set. Run off not important, medium ph(coco) important. Peace!

white,
Let her ride. Find a hobby and let the plants do their thing. IF you find you have pH related deficiencies (you shouldn't) then you can address it.

Also coco is pre-buffered ...
Could you clarify that statement? Do you mean pre-charged with nutrients or do you mean it has something added to adjust the pH? If the latter, I'd love to see some mfg info on that.

regardless of what the term precharged means, most good coco brands, (canna, etc) are ready to use out of the bag, no rinse, charging :D , what have you.

OP, dont worry about run-off. worry about what youre putting into the coco, and at what ph. 5.8 is ideal, but anywhere in the window of 5.5 to 6.0 will do.

easy to over-think coco, but just keep it basic. water as often as you can, dont let the coco dry out, and dont overfeed.
