My Grow Cab

Hi, everyone!
This is my very first grow, and I decided to keep it small. I found an old nightstand that was perfect for my needs, and after some tinkering this is what I have.
H-W-D 18"18"13"
Lighting CFL 6x23weach equ.60w...total 360w. 4 bulbs bright whites 6oo lumen per...two bulbs are true color 650 lumen.(around 20 bucks!)
For exhaust 3.25 axial fan(30 bucks!) and intake 6inch one speed fan(6 bucks)intake fan coverd by black bowl to control light seepage.
One timer(10 bucks) two power strips(5 bucks)
Mylar(20 bucks)
I'm choosing to go soil because its a bit easier for me right now...60%top soil,15%sand,15% perlite,5% premix 12-5-7
I got some dank bag seeds(only three in a ounce!). I don't know the strand, but it burns nicely sooooooo. I have them germinating right now.....patiently waitiing

Nice start, but I have a few questions and pointers for ya. Are you worried about smell at all? I noticed you have no filter on your outtake fan, and that it's a bit on the small side. I'd use the six inch as the outtake and use the axial as circulation inside. If the only hole in that black bowl is the tiny one in back it's going to move almost no air as it plugs it up. It's good to have a basic filter of some kind on the intake as well, to keep dust and beasties out. + rep for first cab, keep growin!

It might be useful to stick some hooks around the sides of the interior, give u something tie onto if u need to train the plants in some way. good luck with it man

@Mr Jay...actually the little fan moves more air than the six inch, but u were absolutely right! i took the black bowl off and got way more air movement. Not so worried about smell but i am curious about carbon filters. dont know where to get one. Since i took the bowl off dust bug and light can get in.

I also added some foam tape around my edges to control light seepage.
I did a test run and my temp got up to 89.7. i really dont know what the temp should be, but i felt like i was border line there. comments pls
The top box is the beginnings of my mother cab.(right now) Its about 1 1/2 ft sqr. 2x23w true color. comments pls. also has anyone deal with highgradeseeds?

High man, congrats on your first cab and your first grow, you never forget your first time!

Just remember though that the quickest way for you to get answers to any questions is to go hunting,...if you just wait for folks to answer questions you'll quickly get sick of waiting. ...it's important too to remember that unless you have some very unusual questions, then what you need to know has already been asked and answered.

...well, i'd planned on posting a couple more links but i'm working with a phone here and it isn't working.

Do a search for Sgt. Stadenko as he has a nice little cab similar in size to yours, and search without the space if you have trouble finding him.

Then do a search for pontiac, he has a thread where he has compiled links to all the best DIY projects, including several scrubbers, anyway, it's the official link-o-rama.

Oh yeah, lol, one more thing, forget about incandescent equivolents as those numbers are meaningless, 6x23=138watts of ACTUAL power, the only numbers that count.

Okay everyone, I'm back for an update on my grow box. From the three seeds I tried to germinate...sadly only one cracked and sprouted a tap root...oh well , I can grow one if I can't grow'em all!

But for better news...went to my pops house for the holiday and decided to go toke one before chow time. i goes to the side of the house and BAM ten plants just growing! I remembered throwing some fire ass seeds out awhile ago and had just forgotten about them. On the side of pops house is the garden so imagine all the fine nutrients in the soil....I can't really say how long they have been growing but they are definitely flowering!!!!
Threw away four males, kept the ladies and they are loving the attention. I grabbed a large box from a moving company, mylar'd it down threw in two 26cfls. I know they need more light....i am on it

Well I am back for another update. My own seeds don not take. I believe I kept the room too cold for germination to take place. In any case I ordered some WR seeds... If they get here i will let you guys know where from...discreetly tho!
Any way the plants I had found growing at pops house have really grown in five days. The are loving the light 4x26 true color cfls. I found out that each bulb is a 2 degree change in heat, and that from outside temp...so if outside box is 80 and you 4x26cfls inside box should be around 88.
I have snapped a few pics of the five sisters and they are thriving. I use soda water for CO2. I am really just taking it and seeing where it goes...practice. The leaves at the bottom are yellowing, and the are some spots on some leaves, not dark dead spot just lighter dots if you will....buts its only been a few days sooooooo....
