wholesale and retail prices

Not sure where this belongs but I have dealer catalogs. If you guys want to get your feelings hurt I can list some wholesale prices on hydro stuff. But be aware your feelings and pocket book will be hurt!

I work at a hydro-shop we deal with the big three sunlight supply, BWGS, and Hydrofarm. It ranges between 50% to 40% but the shop owners need to earn a living. Overhead is high. Building rent, shipping, insurance, and restocking merch. Then you have to find a guy like me who has a general knowledge of growing marijuana to sell the product. We dont come cheap because well we already have a steady income. When it is all said and done at the end of the day after taxes the shop owner just wants his paycheck too.

You make more money on the equipment you buy, the owners make some money, but after shipping, and dealing with returns it's not as much profit as one might think, Canna and advanced is where the mark up is.

I hate to piss in your cheerios but back when I used to run a retail store it was 100% markup on everything, buy wholesale for 50$ and sell for $100. Things might be different now, but back then that was the standard for most if not all retail business's. 50% mark up isnt even that much in the grand scheme of things.

yup, a local garden center around here marks some of their stuff up huge. some items they get for $3 they will have marked 13.99. If they only marked up all their stuff 50%, I'd say thats good.

Retail prices can be hard on a small grower who is not growing for profit <---.
In saying that, i still agree that the mark up's are some what justified for the overheads, work and labour that are needed to be accounted for..

If you can get it cheaper that's great, but the shops and workers still need to earn a living and pay bills. I think it all works out in the wash. Being consumer savvy is the way to go. There are mark up's on everything in life.

buying equipment is not an expense.
It is an investment.
ReelBusy ain't no accountant ;) I kid. I liken equipment to guns vs. butter. Except it's guns vs. cannabutter

I am all for my local hydro store raping me (gently). They are there when I need them and have never once given me a hassle on a return or even asked for a receipt. Plus they give me 20% off list. Oh wait, they give everyone 20% off list. Bastards!

honestly 40% markup wouldnt be that bad. When buying pruducts from a retailer common markup is 66%. I will still support my local hydro shop irregardless of the catalouge your about to shock us with. They have helped me out alot and theres alot to say about having a shop that you can ask questions at or return faulty products without having to drop hella chash to ship prouducts back.

fuck stores order online. i get my 1k horti hps for 65 and mh for 50. unless you are good friends with the owner you are getting nailed. They also love to tell u everything is 20% or so to make you think you're saving. have your stuff delivered to a rural storage unit facility if you're not in a med state.
