So, with access to good stock, would the OP rather grow in Easy Mode? Someone teach him how to clone and lighten the boys load!

if you don't already know soft mode, you never will.

there is a reason no one else here has mentioned soft mode. I'm actually the only one who can pull it off.

Hard mode is for small-timers. And easy mode isn't worth the effort if you ask me. But then again I am comparing to true soft mode buds. This will blow your mind, what soft mode involves:

two words: re foiliation

re foilation oh my lol

sounds like just what i need! my whole point of growing, like most people, is for the foilage!

If you watch the "How to trim, manicure, and dry buds PROPERLY" video, you will notice at the end he disguises his voice as a 12 year old girl. "We got so high last night." Way to confuse LEO, and make it harder for them to track you down. I would be scared shitless if i was a girl in the 6th grade that lived in your area. LEO is going to have a field day at the local middle school. Great diversionary tactic.:)

I'm not saying anything until the patent comes through but soft mode re foilation is going to be big, except only I will be doing it.

Spider mites? we can simply start them off with a hard mode defoilation, floramite infusion bath, the soft mode leaves from the donor plant back in, essentially easy mode hardness.

in other words - soft mode. Mites? Old wives tales? buh-bye.

(of course I left out the key tertiary soft step)

I did a side by side experiment for starting seeds and am very happy with the results. I knew they would be good.

The seeds mixed with my composted cow manure mix is WAY ahead in growth compared to the peat moss and vermiculite mix seeds.

I put them in water all at the same time. Same strain. Same seeds. Same light. You gotta see the results. I need to make a video on this tomorrow and get it up asap.

This grow I'm going to do my best to listen to what the tomato growers are doing. Wow where they right on the starting seeds.

One thing is they are very bullish on pulse start MH's and Ceramic Metal Halide's. They are VERY bullish on them. They recommend HPS for supplemental to MH.

I have two 400w magnetic ballasts that I don't use and am wondering if I can get CMH bulbs that will just screw into the magnetic ballasts.

I do have MH bulbs, but they aren't pulse start or ceramic. The tomato growing community use pulse start MH and the big thing is Ceramic Metal Halide.

They don't recommend HPS at all as a single light source.

How To Successfully Embed a YouTube Video on ICMAG!

How To Successfully Embed a YouTube Video on ICMAG!

Ok. I might as well post this for the edification for the class before this thing gets binned.

(Lots of people read this, lots of people seem to be having trouble with youtube embedding.)

What you wanna do is go to the youtube video you want to paste in....

In this instance I'll use Crush's video in post 1 of this thread.

Here's what it looks like:

http://youtu.be/QyH-YRLIP4Y

What you wanna do is take JUST the last part (in bold) and put it inside the embed code like this:

THE RIGHT WAY:
[youtubeif]QyH-YRLIP4Y[/youtubeif] <--- this one will work.

THE WRONG WAY:
[youtubeif]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyH-YRLIP4Y&hd=1[/youtubeif] <--- this one will NOT work and WILL redirect you to youtube.

Here's the working link:

It's really odd how people ask for big brother to come in and control their speech and censor them. It's like they need to be told what to do. They don't like freedom I guess.

400w CMH bulbs are interchangeable with HPS bulbs in magnetic HPS ballasts. You don' t have to do anything but screw it in to a standard mogul and turn it on.

(That's what I use.)

That's odd. There's 7 years of posts here that by and large prefer HPS for flowering. MH is a good spectrum for veg, even flower but it won't grow buds as big as HPS.

I have two 400w magnetic ballasts that I don't use and am wondering if I can get CMH bulbs that will just screw into the magnetic ballasts.

If they're HPS ballasts, yes.

I do have MH bulbs, but they aren't pulse start or ceramic. The tomato growing community use pulse start MH and the big thing is Ceramic Metal Halide.

You can fire a 150w CMH with a 150w pulse-start MH ballast. 250 and 400w CMH fire with HPS ballasts. Last time I checked, CMH doesn't go over 400 watts. Not very big to grow tomatoes under.

They don't recommend HPS at all as a single light source.

IMO, a mediocre grower can get .75 to .8 grams per watt with HPS easy peasy. Your 600 HPS can get you in the neighborhood of 400 to 600 grams on average, strain depending. Hell, I grow with a 150w HPS security light and get a qp on avg. And that's no more than ~.8 grams per watt.

Stick with the 600. It's still the most bang for your buck available.

Thanks. I need to look into pricing for that. I'm planning a very, very hard mode landrace THAI and Malawi grow coming up with 6 month flower and understand they do best under CMH.

It grows and looks like leafy shwag, but the high is very paranoid, racy, intense, often unpleasant, and a huge creeper.

The stuff crushes to a light fluffy, expansive product which needs to be compressed between the fingers to fit into a zig-zag. This stuff is almost too strong for me! I seriously can't handle it most of the time. It increases your heartbeat, sends a rush of adrenaline through the body and has a 'thick' or heavy high that can paralyze one for a few moments. It is like I can feel it in my body like liquid laughter running through my veins.
