Back from Holiday!

Back from Holiday!

Hi All,

The Smaller of my widows had some mutant growth the petiole was like a tube containing the new growth and only had a leaf on one side??? not a big problem, it just needed help to release the grow tip.

I've decided to change my plans for final pots.. i dont think i would have gained much root space puttting them in bags and worried about disturbing the roots when moving them around, and i also got 6 15litre pots for fathers day. So i have double potted them last night. I cut about 5cm off 3 idenital pots to the ones they were growing in and then potted them in to the 15 litre pots. White Widow (A) got a slightly more free draining mix with more John Innes No.3 than the other two.. not for experimental reasons but because i was lazy when mesuring out the mix, but it will be intresting which performs better.

i didn't get any shots of the final double pots as it was getting dark but will update tomorrow.

So here's some rootballs.

Oh i forgot to post this..

Does anyone know what these bugs are? They have been on the plants for about a month, They dont appear to be causing any damage. sorry this is the best photo i can get. They are yellow look like spiders when viewed under a loop, they are 0.5mm and dont seem to grow into any thing adult. I have some greenfly on the plants but they dont seem to be the same as baby aphids. Nearby i have a Prunus laurocerasus (Cherry Laural and Sambucus nigra (Common Elder). And they are always on the top of leaves never underneath if thats any help.

have been using Bug Clear i think it contains Pyrethrin and it dosn't seem to be doing much (it's a few years old so maybe i should buy some more).. have been putting ladybirds and spiders on the plants to keep the greenfly under control in the meantime.

I think they are Greenfly/Aphids used a lense from my binoculars and got a real close up, gonna invest in some new systemic insecticide and slug pellets today.

Yesterday I was in a hardware shop near my work to get some bamboo canes.. it one of those types of shops where you have to ask the shop next door to open up, anyhow I there was and not wanting to stereotype but there was this Gangstar looking dude talking to the lady in the florest next door so i thought i'd wait my turn.. she comes out with him and opens up the hardware shop.. so i follow them in. He's asking how much a pack of 20 bamboo canes cost and then some masive black plastic trays (perfect for hydro tables) catch his eye, "Oh" he says "how much are these? do you do any bigger ones?". Now i'm pretty sure he wasn't buying this stuff to grow tomartoes. theres me standing in my suit probably buying supplies for the same reason. haha

i was gonna make a sly commet when i got outside but he's gone.. shame could'av been a good hook up?

Brought some Bug Killer from Bayer have always been happy with there weed killers so thought i'd give it a go.. was also the best value branded product per litre and save to use on fruit and veg.

Over the last few days i've been doing some formative pruning and training.. Each plant has been left with four stems which i have bent down to and tied to a bamboo cane with a rubber band, what i'm trying to achive is to limit the overall size of the plants and promote good airflow rather than LST, as the kosen rufu is a bud rot magnet and the widow is gonna be going well into the early winter.

I'll try and get some pics uploaded tonight i think your all gonna like them.

Not a lot happening..

Have been cutting out all wispy growth as i just want to concentrate on four main cola's per plant. I'm thinking about starting to give them some PK13/14 soon as i'm sure i had preflowers this time of the year in the past?? gonna try and get some dark green back into the new growth before i do this though. The widow doesn't smell much but the Kosen Rufu has the most amazing freshly cut grapefruit smell... i've never noticed it in the other times i've grown it.. looks like it might be male so maybe it's a male trait or just a ramdom???

Sorry if the photos are a bit washy it was nearly 21:00

Another Update,

The Kosen Rufu is a Dude so i've given him quite a hard prun.. not really much point on having a massive male as i only want a little of his pollen.

The two Widows are just starting to put out pistils on the pre flowers.. i think i'm gonna do some formative pruning on these.. I really just want to concentrate on four main cola's on each plant but they have been getting quite bushy and i want to keep airflow around the plant as free as possable.

White Widow (B) isn't as dark green and shiny as her sister.. they have been getting the same treatment so it could be down to the fact that (A) had more John Innes in the soil mix when i double potted them. I'm toying with the idea of giving her a shot of High Nitrogen lawn feed NPK 14-1-1 It's pretty poisonus stuff and only intended for none edibles do you guys think it'll work out of the plant come harvest in two and a half months?

Cheers Eggy

Haven't looked in for a while, your plants are looking great though.

Nice job with the training, I like the canes!

Have to say though that B looks fine and healthy to me just a difference in shading.

Happy growing.:tiphat:

Thanks Hoots.

The colour is slowly coming back to her.. she had a good feed of the Phospergen which is quite high in P about a week and a half ago.

the other day they all had a dose of PK13/14 to try and get the flowering to start.. I'd rather not give (A) a shot of the Nitrogen if possable.

Day light hours are currently 15.5 i hate this waiting.. i just don't want them to get any bigger... Will give them a finaly prun at the weekend to control thier size.

A SAD DAY FOR ME : (

A SAD DAY FOR ME : (

This grow has had to come to an end..

Really sorry for anyone following this.. all i can say is that the police were involved indirectly and i've had to chop them.

picture.php

I'm safe and nothing has happened to me and i've managed to keep my little dwarf Auto for the time being.

The future of my growing in the ballance.. thinking about building another box like i've had in the past but super stealthy and built to the highest standards. But this will take some time, planning and most of all money. will be looking for a 70w digi ballast for starters.. but they seem to be nearly £100.00.

If anyone cares to know the full details of what happened Pm me.

to finish the thread on a posative.. heres the lunch i cooked after the chop.

Thats bad news Eggy .... things were going so well.

Dont give up on the outdoor tho. Just go guerrilla next year ...tiz a pain at times but there's bud at the end .... and its almost free and less chance of getting busted.

good luck with the micro grow build :)
