Hey LSY....when i put the last post up I was kinda....whats the word?...excited. Missed your questions....my bad.

No problem bro, i dont blame you a bit with a few days away from them you really notice that nice growth!

You plant in your old holes or dig new ones?

The old holes i used all went male, but yeah real close to the old holes. Growth was different so to hide they were moved a few feet, but these went male. The two fem's are in same holes, but one i just put into the ground, i took from the tent.

Old ones right? Before each long season ya gotta recharge those holes. You could try a light blood meal tea. If they havn't started to bud yet. The heat? Could be too. Getting enough water?

The heat has been really bad, like high 90's so that could be it, but my friend thats been using MG for years is doing fine? So i started using it once so far and will shoot them again after 7 days. Getting plenty of water, the rain has been good, plus the nutes.

By now you should know what I'm going to say....

Dump some time release on 'em. :tiphat:

Ya got any dog shit?....sorry... I had to. Do what you can to not take then early.... Good Luck.

I did think of getting some of the time release you use, its Peters, isn't it (14-14-14)?

I hope not to take anything early, but the ex is moving soon and im not sure how long i have here. I am shooting for November, i hope to stay that long. I dont have or trust a sitter either. I have dog shit, maybe a tea or i would need to dig em up and i just cant do that.

Thanks bro, i know there isn't a magic potion, but thought you might have some sorta booster up your sleeve.

LSY:thank you:

And today my outdoor grow went from 1/2 of a branch to nothing at all! :frown:

About a week ago, a wind storm hit while I was working, breaking a branch that was about at dirt level..... I did what I could when I got home, but bugs got in and ate her from the inside!

Who knew termites would infest a LIVING MJ plant!? :dunno:

Top of the morning from cloud covered Ireland:tiphat: i just finished this thread; yes men, all 27 pages and i must say its been good times i'm up at 54 degrees north and stuck out in the Atlantic that means a week of sunshine in April if we're lucky and then its bye bye till the hard frost in January or so its been the last two years outdoors is tricky here but I've built a little slice of paradise in the shed.
Nice kicking back and dreaming of the south though

I'm Touched....but you already knew that....

Elsweeto...for real? The whole damn thing? I think you guys are like 10 hours ahead of us. Hope you enjoy the show.

The next week should be nice. We have the first Tropical Depression in the Central Pacific. It is suppose to not even effect our weather, but still the first of the season....

RULE 1...Shit Happens.

Canni...Bummer days. The termites ate your crop? That's a first. I ain't going to feel too bad for you. I've seen enough pics in this thread...you do O.K. indoors....naaaa I can't say that...And I liked you first post better...you know? The one you took down?

It's far too early to get the full gloat going. But if this works I will be unsufferable....fair warning.

One good thing with mainland seeds. You can count on them to go off early. I took a big chunk of Rodney....so thats in the bag :jump:

Start the meter....The first fresh outdoor smoke of the year is in.
I'm starting to see the flowers starting to bunch on some. It won't be long now...

Here's the gulch. Tomorrow I 'll take pics of the rest.

Great looking crop bro! But there was no doubts from me that you were going to get at least some monster's, but seems you got monster's all over the place man. I luv it and yeah im sure you do to.

Might have an early harvest here, im moving soon. But may get at least one or two more months, but im not sure. Im waiting for the call, i plan to freak out om em if they dont give me the time i need. Heck you just cant jump in an apartment around here, there is always a waiting list. And if they do, il call the news paper and give them some bad rep, i still know people who work there. Times are bad, but for everyone!

Good luck bro, looking awesome so far! And i look to see what is next every day. I never thought you would get something so early, but i guess the mainland seeds you know just what they will do. The others are a gamble the first year aren't they? But the second year after getting the seeds they are acclimated to the climate aren't they? Or will it take more time give or take a few?

Peace bro...................

Huh? I didn't take any post down,.... But yeah, F'n Termites. Plant was looking way underwatered even tho I had just watered and the container was still well wet, got poking around the base of the roots, and all the larger ones near the surface were broken off and the stem felt soft,....sure as hell when I gave it a little flex the whole trunk snapped in half and was totally hollow for the bottom foot and crawling with F'n termites.

It's far too early to get the full gloat going. But if this works I will be unsufferable....fair warning.

Yeah,... the gloat is gonna come on in full,... and all I can say is it's well deserved! :tiphat:

Thanks for the kind words about the work I do inside,.... but again my entire indoor grow would equal about 1 branch on one of those beasts! ;)

Weather east of you on the edge of the Pac is no better. Usually 23+ days with temps over 100 degress and this year we have had 0. Acctually only 1 or two in the low 90. Tomatoes are weak this year cause they love heat and it just isnt here.
As for Cannabis the jury is still out, but cultivars ive grown many times before are smaller in over all circumferance but maybe more vertical growth, but its still two early here to tell we got till Sept 28 befor 12/12. Im not see the cut worm problem like the last four years. But the are more rollie pollies and an imposter japanese bettle. accually havent seen the bettles before. Also surroubnding veg is staying green when usually a combo of green and Brown. Wonder if the Nuclear insident is having an impact on the Pacifics weather.

Really like the pics but how about some close up from time to time.

Also I have a artical written about the Rodney from back in the early 80's if you have an interest.

Storytime...Part 2....the quick

Storytime...Part 2....the quick

Headband....Rodney is an off the cuff name for a strain that has kinda made the rounds here...and back there. Thank to someone who will remain nameless. (hint...if you go back the path is obvious).

It wasn't named Rodney then. The originator asked me not to tell the real name for it. Believe me when I say the name I was given was a place name that left something to be desired.

When I got the seeds, It was right at the end of short season, my seeds for this year were gathered and running. I had a shitload of small plants going. Way, way over my numbers. Then Rodney was dropped into my lap like a wet turd. I planted all the seeds in small pots and forgot about them. I had a plan. Rodney wasn't a big part of it.

Then one of the testers that I know to be a stand up guy came out raving about it. At the same time every seed I cracked in the seed run was a girl. Thirty six fuckin' girls! Not one male. I did have Jack Herer pollen. And Rodney pollen suddenly started to look real good at that point.

Anyway the Maker of The Unnamed Strain wound me up because I was neglecting his gift. And frankly I was embarassed because Rodney looked like shit. He said this gift should be called Rodney, because, of course, I was giving it no respect.

LSY....When I was putting the line up together last year...I took a chance. The first four holes are Rodney, then a Diesel, a Hash Bud and a Kush mom....And Rodney's the dad. The pure Rodney has gone off early. I'm smoking her as a type....as you can see....the rest are still unknowns. But since all the moms were aclimated here I thought they would get big.

She tastes like nothing I ever smoked....delicious...Change gears

Headband...you still with me?

Wife of my youth...aka....ball and chain has family in LA. The jet stream is right over you guys. Friiends tell me the same thing. The plants they have are smaller too. And I don't think the meltdown is effecting the weather. But I wouldn't want to live downwind of the thing. Last year we were in drought and there were no worms either. This year they're back. And I'd be happy to give ya a close up or two....But I only have one plant picture worthy so far.

great thread oldhaole! :respect: i just read it all. looks like paradise there for certain

never been to HI before, but planning a trip to the big island in november. i'd love to move out there, just not sure where... yet

Close enough,

Close enough,

I didn’t actually tell you not to share the name….I asked you not to share the seed w/ the name. Giving seed to you and Weeze….what are the chances that it wouldn’t be shared….pretty damn slim.

That was then, this is now. I no longer care what you share….seed, name….it’s yours, enjoy it.

That said…..weed named after Rodney Dangerfield still makes me laugh.

Rod.jpg

If headband has an article from the early 80"s....could very well be about Rodney....she's been pretty much lost since then.

I do have a question though: Are your Rod X Jack crosses later to flower.

HMR....friend of Rodney. :tiphat:

land's cheap on the east side, lots of rain.west side is perfect for buds 70-82 deg,60%humidity,10" rain yearly...the only drawback is w/3000+regestered growers on this island alone you pretty much give it away(not so on oahu,maui)...good luck

Well...cat's out of the bag.

Headbandf1 hit the nail on the head. How I have absolutly no clue. My hat's off to you. Hope ya scored on your dive.

The artical was right on. Thanks for the backstory. It's neat to know I'm growing a classic....and I'm putting my own spin on it.

I didn’t actually tell you not to share the name….I asked you not to share the seed w/ the name.

Jeez HRM...ya wanna split that hair a little finer? Looks like I'm contractually released from silence...finally. So listen up...I aint gonna say. That's your story....you tell it.

Rodney works for me. And that name isn't gonna fly in Hawaii....not a chance.

All of the Rodney crosses are taking their own sweet time. No buds yet.

S13....Hup is right. In Nov Big Island will be choke weed. Finding it won't be hard.

Canni....to think I felt sorry for you upon the termite demise of your outdoor season. Looks like your suffering...***hole. And yea...thats Rodney. She's gonna throw you a few curves early.

The Thai is hard to grow indoors. It ain't worth it.

We checked the patch right next to the road this evening. Damn deer munched a bunch. First time I ever lost a plant to deer. Piss me off. They did miss a few, but not many.

And the icing on the cake, that tropical storm took a turn toward us this evening. Still suppose to pass south of us as a blob of rain...just a lot less south than yesterday.

Remember Rule 1.

On my pass I took pics of the rest...as promised. All except the first are last years Thai crosses. The first pic is a Jack x Rodney cross.

An unannounced game

An unannounced game

There’s a game being played….but not announced.

Headband recognizes the game and decides to play.

He reads around and finds a clue.

Uses that on a “fishin’ trip”.

Get’s a nibble….and then a fish.

How much fun is that…..it’s always fun to catch something when you go fishin’.

Hope that others enjoy it as much as I did.

OHwell…..the decision that I’d hoped you’d make. Goodonya’

LSY….I thought that you were mad at me.

Canni….On further thought….it’s probably the Thai.

Just a screw around kind of guy,

LSY….I thought that you were mad at me.

Mad, mad? Why would i be mad at the '' Horseman'' ?

And if ya thought that, you could have and should have said
''FTW''. Plus i dont get mad at peep's here, hell you guy's are my only friends as pathetic as that sounds:friends:. Not that i dont have a few, but the people here think different. Its not what can i get out of this guy, its more of a ''whats up bro, how ya doing, can i help ya out with your grow'', something like that. Lots of selfish people around me here. But, I GET TO GET AWAY FROM MOST OF THESE PEOPLE AND 130LBS OF EX!:groupwave:

So noway bro, im happy as a lark, not that iv ever met a lark, im thinking their happy. But never believe what i hear, till i see and iv never had the pleasure of conversing with one. But they are a beautiful bird, and do enjoy birds:dance013:. But i think thats because i killed so many as a kid with my original Red Ryder BB gun! No shit, like piles of them, but im not serial killer or anything, lol.

Oh yeah, i have a thread and im inviting everyone to see the defoliation method, not bad for only 4 weeks, but nothing like these buds in here.

The Vacations Over....Back to the Salt Mines.

The Vacations Over....Back to the Salt Mines.

A lot's been happening.

Looks like the blob of moisture known formerly as TS Fernanda is going to miss us to the south. Swing and a miss.

Here at the house it's back to work. Those shaggy bottoms need a good trim. I get out my scisors and hollow out the center of each plant. Sit in the shade of the plant and cut everything on the bottom and next to the stem. Anything that won't see sunlight is cut. My big mistake was putting them too close together. But when I bought this house I always wanted to see that gulch with a wall of green in it. I almost have it this time.

Took a day to do Rodney's kids. Another to do the Jack Herer. Them's a big job. It will allow the air to circulate and that's where a lot of WPM starts. After I get done I spray the hell out of the plant with Safers and Adams flea and tick killer. Soak the shit out of it. I should finish the gulch tomorrow.

Harvested my first full plants yesterday. Nothing to write home about. Damn things went off early, never tightened up and on a scale of 1-10 they were a 4. So I gave them to my patient. That leaves me an empty hole, and I just happen to have a Headband clone that's looking for a home....after I take a bunch more cuts off her.

Then about 3 I head on down to my partners place and head for the cane....

Today...not so good. It's getting close to crunch time. The girls are starting to bud. We have to account for each hole If you miss a hole and a male grows unseen you get seed...lots and lots of them.

We have two lost patches...lost as in no can find, and two that need the second male killing visit. I'm actually thinking of walking in tomorrow. Today we made a try to get there, and failed badly. It's killing me. There there, found them once, there big, and there could be a male dumping pollen on them as I type.

Other than the ones giving us grief, every patch has been maled twice. Now we let them run. I'd guess we have @130 plants out of 450 holes planted. And we still have the Labor Day Green Harvest to go through. Maybe one more after that. Either way we will grid search the fields for the two lost patches last. That's not going to be fun.

Add to that the coffee needs to be harvested...now. Then I have to clean up the plants in front too....

OH well, In the immortal words of Super Chicken...."You knew the job was dangerous when you took it."

HRM... Headband hit it right on. Using your fishing analagy, Big hook, small bait, hard strike, fish bleeding on the rocks. Dinner is served.

My wild assed guess is that he's seen it before. It does have a look to it. Perhaps....he was at the same time and place as you. Maybe he's an old stoner with a sliver of memory left. And for what it's worth I think our secrets safe.

LSY....Good Luck with the thread. You need to head west. Bigtime.

Pic 1...After clean up. nice and neat.
Pic 2...We ran from this rainstorm on the way home.
