I can't stand all these 'celebrity TV chefs'
only one worth a damn is Anthony Bourdain which oddly enough is on travel channel

No
@op-You can make almost anything they make on the travel channel with quality ingredients and its gonna be somewhat healthy.
Kelp is only good if you like bromides and heavy metals. Tofu is a frakenfood as far as I'm concerned.
I can make that 5 lb. ice cream sundae with 34 toppings healthy??? Please tell me how?
Tofu is quite healthy in fact. Would love to know where you get your info from. I suspect you dont cook much or know much about cooking from these statements.
Tofu is a low calorie food which contains high levels of protein, calcium, magnesium, iron and omega 3 fatty acids. Not to mention many other oft neglected dietary nutrients and benefits -- including no cholesterol. Just because you dont care for the taste, or have never tasted well-prepared food does not mean it is not good or nutritous. Theres no doubt that tofu alone is pretty bland, and thats why it is always enhanced with strong flavors and textures. Afterall, tofu is basically conpressed, gelatanized soybeans... so flavor was never its strong point.
The American infatuation with (fast) food has far surpassed their education on the subject. And nowhere is this more apparant than in school cafeterias unfortunately. This unhealthy cycle will continue to perpetuate itself until we inform and make available healthier choices for our children.
**Sorry to take this off topic. Do not watch food programs on the travel channel though anthony bourdain seems like a pretty knowledgeable chef. May have to check out his program to see what the fuss is all about.

Anthony Bourdain is the only food show on tv I'll watch
They do these shows cause Americans are fat and eat alot of food. It's what sells and makes them $$. And in the end $ is all they care about, not your health.
no NOTHING should be censored, but there should be a Glutton or "Ways to get fat" channel for that for those too dumb to figure it out.I do think that these food shows are along the lines of gluttony and American obesity issues....kind of like how McDonald's will probably end up facing huge class action suits just like big tobacco companies.
However, I do believe in free speech and freedom of the press, and don't think that obesity-related television shows which glorify greasy and fattening foods should be censored.
I LOVE the Travel channel for Steve what's his name's Europe...best travel show out there. Though, I usually catch it on PBS. Maybe it actually is a PBS show.
now those are some great suggestions, also some great nutrition info here I didn't comment on specifically. NOT the candy pizza though! All things in moderation. Fundamentalism is evil in any area.
I am an omnivore and very glad of it.
I'd rather see Bourdain do a cannabis show, now that would be a great show.
Today I am in Thailand...
Or even better Man vs Weed.
See Tony attempt to take on G13 Hashplant... 2 vape bags, 6 one hitters and one final party bowl in less than 15 mins.. tune in Thursday night and see what happens.
No offense to the OP, but who cares? These shows are purposefully created to be extreme and outrageous just for ratings because they know people will watch them. As long as one recognizes this, then there is no harm in watching them if they want to. If someone changes their diet to emulate the shows like Man vs Food, then they have issues that go way beyond food.
I remember when the Travel Channel used to actually have programming related to traveling.
