Hi,

for now I have only found a pair of micro twisted lamps..

Dulux-Superstar-Micro-Twist-energy-saving-light-bulbs-available-from-OSRAM-Australia-297459-255x255.jpg

Here the data:

Osram Dulux Superstar Micro Twist Warm and Cold

Warm comfort light 2500k with 650lm EnergySaver 11w = 54w
Cold white 4000k with 650lm EnergySaver 11w = 54w

Now my question is, can I use them for growing in my PC-Case ?!?!

Regards

Sermet

Yeah man those will work although any cfl like that will do. Also, forget those 'equivalent' wattages, get in the habit of only thinking about the actual wattage, anything else only confuses the issue.

Which means those bulbs are only 11watts, if you have a Lowes or Home Depot or even a Walmart near you you can often get 4 packs of 23 and 26 watt bulbs for under $10.00.

If you have a little bit more cash and some DIY skills, PL-L's are a MUCH better option and there are many here who use them, I have them in my 'clone factory' for example.

If you do a search for PL-L's you will find many threads including one called the 'PL-L club' where you will find links to sources for everything you'll need along with how-to instructions.

Good luck and have fun.

Hope this helps, SOG

The 4000Kelvin bulbs work well for vegging AND flowering and go with the highest wattage bulbs as will fit, my 55watters are 22 inchs long.

and no, you can't just wire up the sockets, all flourescent lights need ballasts, the twisty bulbs have the ballast built into the base of the bulbs so the heat can't be removed from the grow space.

Go find that thread for the PL-L club and start reading, all your answers are there, ...at least in regards to lights.

And be sure to check out some of the grows of those who've posted in that thread, you will be amazed and inspired.

Peace, SOG

if u dont know now u know thanks a lot for this hint :) greets from my master kush x skunk :)

Yeah man, thats the thread, i'd have posted a link if I could.

And you're welcome man, just don't be afraid to go hunting for your answers rather than just posting questions, understand that every question you can think to ask has already been asked MANY times before ever you thought to even pop your first seed.

Anyway, good luck, and try to be flexible as your grow will evolve as you gain knowledge and experience.

Peace, SOG

Standard lighting is 50 wsf. Just remember to keep your grow's footprint to less than 1 sf or get more lamps.

this PL-L thread is awesome !

Now I figured out that I have only about 30 - 40 cm for the bulbs, so I have to use two 24 watt because the 36 and 55 pl won't fit :( I read the whole thread now I know what to do :)

Dont want to open a new thead, so...

can I color the PC Case with white paint or is foil like mylar better ? or white foil ? Im unsure about this

a lot of ppl write that white paint will be ok (but thats for bigger grows :/

(48w pl-l grow without reflector is the concept)

you can use mylar, or panda film. light that is not on the plant is wasted light. do not use foil, or mirrors, it will create hot spots. mylar is fairly cheap, and does a fantastic job at reflecting light
