Well first intersting part of this was it was paid for by Bill and Melinda Gates for Frontline..
Then the whole fed part made me wonder why are they so uptight about cannabis? I mean when you really think about it what is their true motives here?
Is it that when ppl smoke they are more peaceful? or that they make a bit of cash on the side that they can't get their greedy paws on ?
Then the documentary started to talk about the cartel lol.. really cause I thought it was supposed to be about medical cannabis.. but the feds just have to stick the idea that the cartel is all up in there too. In my eyes the feds/DEA are one of the most corrupt bodies out there bar none and they need to be either revamped or stopped by the proper authorities end of story!
No one should be subjected to these insane laws PERIOD!
What did I learn from this show? That I don't want to live in a world that is ruled by these ASSHOLES!!! peace out Headband707

I thought the propaganda machine had all but given up with this nonsense, now PBS and Nat Geo are putting out "documentaries" The media is pathetic most of the time, but PBS? that's a low blow you assholes

PBS. NPR.CBS.NBC.ETC...The straits use these to 'inform' the Masses they intentually taught to be stupid.
A beautiful closed loop system. Not suprised..

The FDA, DEA, FBI, CIA and Home Land Security not to mention the state and local agencies all have bureaucracies that want to hold on to the monies they get for enforcing the prohibition on MJ. Remove the prohibiton on MJ and the less money they get and that makes some of the bureaucracies irrelevant and as long as they hold on to the percecution of MJ they get to keep the money.

Peace...

#1 why is there FDA,DEA,FBI,CIA and Home Land Sec? and all the other agencies I mean wouldn't it be prudent to have one agengy doing it all? Kinda seems like a collossal waste of ca$h to me but hey, what do I know I'm just joe public lol.
Then there is the second part of your equation if you took cannabis away what would they have to do to keep them going .. Hum... I could think of a few things like Meth/Heroin/Crack/even Alcohol.. go after the ppl with real problems and leave the rest of us alone.. peace out Headband707:)

They seriously need to take that" live free or die "off of their coins as they have more ppl in jail then any other country.. Let their ppl go damnit..lol

I watched this the other night and while it didn't provide any new information to the intrepid canna-minded, socially aware people amongst us, it was a good introduction for the people who watch PBS on a regular basis. The Feds came across as inflexible, arrogant clowns who were subverting the will of the people in California. Even if you do not agree with the tagging system of the local sheriff's office, it was REALLY cool to have a gaggle of growers having a sit-down with the local cops to work out how to best protect their plants and livelihoods--in a mutually respectful way (and I despise the authorities...).

My $.02. It was much more even-handed than the BS on NatGeo, CNBC, etc.--which is what I would expect from Frontline.

Anyone save a stream of it? I'd like to archive this show without buying a $1K DVD from PBS (hyperbole, I know...but it's expensive).

what i liked(not that this was Pulitzer caliber) was the size of the grows and the maps of cultivation
i don't know what it takes these days to be on the DEA radar, but it's got to be getting over a 1000 plants
there is really no pretense that DEA has any kind of solution to this 'problem'
kind of like some moron farting at a tidal wave

Why are people hating on Frontline? This was one of the most even-handed and balanced reports on the MMJ issue I've ever seen on television.

Well I don't know about hating on Frontline lol.. I was more disliking on the stance of the feds to this day they seem pretty inflexible and frankly moronic when you watched that fed at that meeting.Again I ask what exactly is their motives here? Why are they so uptight about cannabis again for the sick? It's a pretty simple straight forward question . I think these guys are the reason your country is going in the toilet and if they continue they will drag the US down with more of the" War on whatever "give us cash to fund it bullshit... peace out Headband707

The Canadains pay the US over 60 million a year now to protect our boarders lol from what exactly ?? Cause you know us Canadains are under constant threat !!!! LOL.. not to mention all those drug runners... lol

Think about it this way.

The drug war is a business, people are making money off of it. People have jobs because of it.

If it ends, those people no longer have jobs. Therefore those groups are going to do every goddamn thing within their power to keep the war going on. Politics has zero to do with it, it's pure business.
