X18

I made several Deep Chunk crosses, but I have to say, X18 is my favorite line from Tom. Real interesting fruity flavor, and a great high. I should have started a few seeds of X18 this year. I did a big Haze and kush breeding run this last winter and have about 50 new varieties to grow now, plus all the clones I already keep.
Yep X18 is mighty fine weed.

smoke report.

smoke report.

ok, heres a little info on each of those plants...

~DJs Blueberry~
crack open the jar and it smells like a fruity jam, berries and currants all the way. the buds are dense and compact with dark purple, red and light green hues. absolutely frosted on the outside, very few pistils to speak of, super easy to manicure/trim.

grinds up very nice and smoke is delicious. the high isnt sedative so much as it is relaxing. sexy weed, i call it. a little goes a long way and too much will have me going night-night. a good head high as well, but this plant doesnt seem to mess with the head so much as it paints everything with fuzzy, soft edges. excellent pot.

~SCBB~
piney and spicy through and through, with a little bit of dank skunkyness for good measure. the buds are a little more airy and and covered from head to toe with red hairs. people seem to love these "hairs", even after i explain it has no bearing upon the quality of the pot, theyre just the dried up pistils of the plant. oh well, to each their own.

the number one comment i get on this bud is how trippy it is. it really does go right to the head and strikes me as being a more introspective smoke. too much and my eyes get that shaky, re-adjust thing going on, blurred vision, etc. not a lot of body on this one, but its pleasant and good for hiking, the beach, etc. smoke is good, but not in a league with the x-18 or bb.

~Mental Floss~
chimera should have called this one mental head clamp or something like that. its probably the most narcotic plant(s) i grew out last season. its like smoking a Kush variety, chemdawg, headband, etc. the buds grew like massive chunky spears, super easy to trim, and even the popcorn buds were like golf balls. very dense and rock hard.

the overpowering scent i get is a musky, with a twinge of berry sweetness. to be honest, not my favorite smelling weed, but the high more than makes up for it. maybe i shouldnt call it high, more like looooooooooow. this is the gear that my "smokes every second of the day" friends get when they come over for a visit. its pretty much knockout strong and makes you feel like time and the world are moving at the speed of slow. to say that it feels like a clamp on your head is an understatement, and driving a car or riding a bike are pretty much impossible--then again, you dont feel much like moving anyway. not my cup of tea (sometimes it is) but a good direction to go in if you want to get stoooooooned.

~Deep Chunk~
Probably one of the coolest plants you will ever grow. Looks like it came from some pre-historic age, huge fans and rock hard, dense buds that run along the main meristem. heavily covered in frost, so much so that leaves surrounding the buds will curl up covered in trichromes. trimming can be a bit of a chore as youre not really sure what to take off, and how much of it to take off, but whatever comes down is going into bubble bags for hash anyway. whats left are golf ball sized nugs that range from deep, dark purple, to lime green.

the smoke is rich and heavy, very hash like in taste, with a citrus grapefruit flavor in some of the lighter (colored) varieties. i have yet to taste a mocha or coffee flavored plant, but all in due time, as i will no doubt be growing deep chunk again. the bud is very nice and the first one i reach for for newbies or people who tell me they get paranoid or self-conscious on pot. its relaxing and mellow, wears off nicely, and allows you to be stoned without really feeling any of the less pleasant side effects of most other lines. outdoors this plant grows itself (pain in the butt indoors--for me at least) and is just an all around kine' bud.

~X-18~
all citrus, pear and clean scents, like fresh laundry. my favorite thing to smoke right now. the buds are dense and uniform and cure extremely well. yellow and lime colored the smoke is clean going in, and clean coming out--no harshness to it, refreshing and delicious. 2/3s of the reason i like this plant so much is the taste and smell, although the high is no pushover either.

very cerebral, with a tiny bit of body thrown in for good measure. never drowsy, indica type weed, this pot makes you feel good. daydreamy introspection can occur if youre alone, but also great fro being social, going to bars, parties etc. chatty and up, makes you think, and the thoughts are usually upbeat and positive. grow this out, yall. :D

~Sour D~
Come on, you've all smoked this, right? Or at least thought you were smoking it :D All musky, nasty diesel fuel--not my favorite of scents, but the high is racy and up! makes your heart beat like a drum, palms sweaty, paranoid and scary. i like to give this to girls just to make them squirm. :D covered in trichs, has bag appeal down pat, and stinks up your car like two skunks fucking in the back seat. ole' faithful, not for the faint of heart to say the least.

so, there you go. keep in mind aside from the physical aspects of each plant, highs and lows are relatively subjective. this is just my experience with said plants, you may "feel" differently about each one. my advice, grow em' out--then you can have an opinion on them too. hope that helps :D

peace

Chemsteady - Thanks for that! Funny story. X18 is soooo tempting but I can't buy any more seeds! Recently I bought/received: swt tooth #4, chem 91s1, KKSC x Swt #4, Cotton Candy, ISS, Strawberry Diesel IX, haze x deep chunk....

on and on...

can't justify the X18...my wife will kill me.

N.Indian sounds good too...

:(

:)

T.Hill sends out ALL THE RIGHT VIBES! Whenever he posts up pics of his garden I just get a great feeling.

great x-18 story. I don't know how you can keep your hands off all of those lovely buds for a whole month, congrats. The blueberry is just so beautiful it deserves to be mounted in a frame and hung on a wall.

I had about the same Deep Chunk experience except that i found one or two that had a mocha smell. but overall a really mellow but wonderful herb to toke.

yeah man :) i tried the x 18 :) it was nice, but it was very many years ago. i think i only remember flowering one or two females. i will give the x18 a new go when i get time and space, i think i still should have some beans of it or a cross made with it.

peace :D

nope, monky--i live smack dab in the middle of texas :D

yeah, thats a joke. northern california. one of the local periodicals just released an issue with a huge outdoor plant on the cover entitled "how green is your pot?" basically about the huge preference of indoor bud to the more enviro-friendly outdoor crops. pretty pot friendly up here--i guess the majority of people finally realized that for all intensive purposes, cannabis is just a damn plant--plus the cannabis industry provides much need revenue for the bay area.

as for the neighbors, idk...im surrounded by a bowl of trees, older senile folks to the left, and yuppie non-communicating types without a clear view of the raised deck on the right, asian immigrant, large family directly in the back, without a clear view anywhere. im prop 215 legal, never sell bud, and maintain my plant numbers within the specifications of my state/county laws (which was recently declared unconstitutional anyway :D) so im pretty much protected. if a neighbor ever wanted to come and take a look, have some of my crop, etc id be more than happy to acquiesce. i have nothing to hide...

thanks for the love eggy, here are some plant glamor shots, just for you :D
