i still have the mother atf. some of the phenos of WTF (MVTF x ATF) that i have let go were exactlly like the mom atf.as for bx probley not, i think of atf kinda like northern lights #5..gets cedar piney and takes whatever you cross to it very well, keeps the frost, and lets new smells kinda take over the cedar parts..every time i smoke it its like a time machine into the 1980s.. old school smelling shit..

Nice..Is this DR's or an MTF cut? thx looks more indica than Nate and Chili's cuts..peace

They all look SWEET!

I was under the impression MTF has a twisted rope look to the floral clusters??? Am I wrong or are there different pheno types of this strain that do not produce the rope look???

I have DR. Greenthumbs version and a VERY GOOD friend from Alaska sent me a pack too...

I'm dying to run em but I plan a winter run for cooler temps and when I have brand new HPS bulbs to ensure everythings at peak!!!!

Thanks all for sharing. This strain is probably my most sought in all aspects....

I haven't grown any *yet* but I plan on doing that this coming spring when I get moved to Cali. I have a teensy bit left in a baggie and I gotta say it is the most amazing high I've ever had - without question. A new friend in Cali can hook me up with some "Alaskan Thunderfuck"; I don't know if it's the exact same pheno, probably not, but even if it is the MTF female x some other great strain, it's bound to be an awesome smoke. I want to keep an eye on this thread! :) peas.

Outdoor MTF from a clone thats gone around for a long time. It stinks so much that if you sniff and try a little I'll bet you can smell her, she stinks that much.

Variegated leaves...

Variegated leaves...

Such an old thread! I've had an alaskan thunder f clone that I grew for a couple harvests. Was a big yielder of some seriously sweet and very frosty bud. The plant had beautiful green leaves and an awesome growth structure all around. One of my prettiest plants in veg. I let it go in search of greener pastures though but I recently picked up some clones in San Francisco that were advertised as ATF. They were also advertised as 100% sativa, which I have my doubts to. They are certainly a different plant than my previous cutting of ATF though. This pheno of ATF has very distinct variegated leaves. Some describe it as white stripes in the leaves, but it usually shows up as deformed with some very light green growth in some of the leaf. I've just read everything I could to find in various web searches about this strain and none of the pictures in this thread seem to have that trait. I think it was Sagamartha's description of their seed genetics that states the possibility of the leaf variegation...

My question is, since this cut is obviously going around the Bay Area atleast, does anyone have any experience with this pheno? If you had it, it would be obvious due to some of the leaves showing that odd variegation/deformity. I have not flowered it yet, and it's almost at the back of the line as of right now but I may throw a small clone in flower on my next round just to see what it'll do. It would be nice, though to find somebody with experience with this particular pheno...

Thanks in advance...:bump:

Another Year, Another Bump

Another Year, Another Bump

Just wanted to drop in and share a little detail about the Matanuska Valley ThunderFuck (MVTF) clone. I received it about five years ago from another Oregon medical grower and have worked with it ever since--this is one of the plants I will keep as long as I can. It is a staple for med growers in Oregon for a reason!.

Robust yields, strong smell (tangerine/citrus) and flavor, beautiful growth structure, strong and long lasting high, and--best of all to me--the earliest flowering outdoor plant I have encountered. She started pushing calyxes on July 5th @ 45N this year. We usually pull 2-3 lbs. from each outdoor plant (not record setting, but respectable). I have a small indoor plant a few days away from finishing up, totally pollinated with a great "Early Queen" male (Mr. Nice). This winter's project is to work it into a useable seed line for like-minded outdoor growers :).

Outdoors, the branches turn into massive arms which need no support. Fan leaf petioles are red, and the leaves have a distinct look to them. Definitely a favorite of growers and smokers in my area!

EDIT...theres a few threads on the topic and i should probably clarify once in awhile instead of assuming the story is out...i certainly am not pimping the tange...it wasnt my work...i was just starting to grow at the time...dont have any idea if the cut is still around...havent smoked it in years...the main reason it sticks in my mind is it was the first "seed strain" i was really exposed too after my interest started to develop beyond just smoking....the main reason i watch out for references to it is after i posted a little story on in one of these threads the tange cut of mtf showed up through a cali clone vendor...just dont want to be responsible for an internet legend that isnt so! ha....

Greyskull

Greyskull

Is there any way to bring this thread back to life? I specifically wanted to reach out to greyskull. That top view of the mtf plant really brought back some memories. I will never forget seeing those leaves. Bigger then a dinner plate and kinda banana shaped. After reading through this thread I would have to say the cut I had didn't resemble most of the skunk looking plants that were posted. I'm wondering if the mtf cut I had was tange x golf ball. It wasn't a big yielded and didn't have long running buds. They were more like golf balls. Same sour tange smell as described. High was unlike anything I've had. Must have been high cbd. Anyways. Here's to starting the conversation again!

And bump... still wondering if greyskull or Yukon have this running or if they know of a good seed representation? I'm thinking mtf and tang and tange all are getting their names all tangled up? Anyone....

Ok...this is freaking weird...tange and golfball were strains local to Delta jct/Fairbanks in the eighties and nineties...as far as I know I was the first to ever mention either of those...anywhere online...and golf ball was just what me and my buddy called buds we got from a guy we knew...who called it pot...
I've seen mentions on different forums over the years ever since I mentioned them...and I alternate between being sorry I ever brought it up to being amazed at how two terms mentioned in one post can grow to be an internet...err....thing...that becomes fact
If anyone here has a cut that came w info regarding tange or golfball in their mtf...sorry..but it's nothing but false
And just so I m clear...this is not a situation where I'm trying to protect something I have...I never grew either and wouldn't trade any of my 20 favorite strains for either of them
It is kinda cool though..gotta admit...ha
