Thanks scrappy. Do you think the salts from the old nutes will effect anything in the new soil?

Not the the degree of making any noticeable difference. I've seen chem grown plants respond extreamly well to a simple ewc molasses microbe type tea, so i doubt you will have any problems in your organic changeover. You never said, but I assume these plants are now healthy? If they were really sick and you were sure it was from the old soil, then I might flush, first. But not if there healthy.....scrappy

Hey guys I'm getting some new plants from a friend who needs to get rid of them. They are 2ft plants in 3 gal pots filled with a soil called bm6 by a company called Berger soil I believe, he's been using advanced nutrients grow A&B. They will be transplanted to 15 gal smart pots with a mix of fox farm soil an amendments. My question is should I flush the old soil before transplant? Will the old soil kill my living soil an ACT's ? I've never had to go from non organic to Organic before so I don't want to mess it up. Thank you for all advice. Nomeste

perfectly fine, Ive done this before

new EJ user here...currently just using the Grow and Catalyst as enhancements on top of a GH and Fox farms line in soil....ive been tampering with a few different "base nutrients" and use the EJ to supplement them and also help adjust the PH because it lowers it nicely....i was having deficiencies last run using only the FF line....i added in the Catalyst and my plants were way healthier...now after adding grow in veg everything is such a lush green, i think im hooked. i love how it doesnt burn either...it also doesnt seem to affect PPM too much? i can throw in a bunch and it barely moves the PPMs up at all...

i got a shiton of reading to do...but anybody else using EJ in conjunction with other nutrient lines...or are most people here using only EJ. i am definately gonna pick up the bloom soon and add that in.....i just dont have the space to do an only EJ run....plus i love my results with fox farms big bloom and tiger bloom it treats my OG kush very good....

also...i talked to an EJ rep at the grow expo, and he said to not PH up when using EJ. i was asking because when using catalyst my PH is always around 5, then i PH up it to 6.0....never had bad results doing this im just skepical about watering my plants at 5.0 when they are living nicely at the current level....

I believe you have to PH your earth juice if you are using chemical ferts with it. If you are using 100% organics than you wont have to ph buffer at all. With the presents of synthetics however you will create nute lock out. Good luck Yes4Prop215.

the ph question, IMO

bubbling the ej causes a ph drift from (aprox) ph4 on day one, ph5-7 on day 2, ph+7 on day 3.

As long the base soil is (aprox) 6.0 to 7.0, soil is not majorly under or OVER ferted & lime wasn't overused, then it should be a carefree grow working that 1-3 day ph range.

A runoff test every so often will give you a pretty good general idea of the soils condition.

did you tell the rep what you just told us? (that you are using the fox farm/GH soils and fox farm nutrients)

i doubt earth juice test all of their nutes/additives with all of the other manufacturer's lines...

if it aint broke... don't fix it.

I run PBP grow/bloom/LK/sweet(will prob drop once sample bottle is gone) and picked up a bottle of EJ bloom a couple weeks ago. I mix the grow and bloom 50/50 for the first week or two of flower(total 15ml) and then straight bloom(15 ml/gal)+sweet(5ml/gal) till 2 weeks for a 5.8-6.2 flush. I originally bought the EJ to use everyother day with my PBP but if I understand correctly, you are using it as a booster? Do you just add at light strength or regular? Very interesting.....
I used to run 6/9 and still have a couple gallons sitting back in the closet but am really trying to move towards a more/fully organic garden. Next step is investing in natural amendments (guano, castings, lime ect.) along with the equipment for a proper tea brewer. I didn't get the catalyst but figure I can either toss in the LK or some blackstrap molasses to get a similar effect if I continue with bottled nutes....-basket

Sup BB,

Im still very happy with EJ, the price is fair compared to most of the other lines so im not feeling ripped off which is nice.

Buying a gal of LK gives me that ripped off feeling but alot of things pay for themselves with extra yield so....

Im using lower levels more often VS. high dose every once n' awhile..
