Skywalker Week 5 Flower - Problems?

Hi there, I have Skywalker growing in a 5 gal smartpot of 100% foxfarm ocean forest. I've been feeding roots organics and PH runoff is 6.7 ...it's week 5 now and suddenly all the leaves are yellowing and getting brown splotches as pictured and falling off.

Any ideas?

im gonna say its a defencey in something.im not a pro but the healthy leaves look way too light green.maybe nitrogen?im not entirely surer but if it was me i would lean towards that, i hope this helps.you should have put this in the thread in the infurmery.

I'm gonna say flush them in the tub with a bunch of room temperature tap water then give them a big dose of nutrients right after, from what I've seen plants just always seem to love that.

also, try adjusting the white balance on your camera to get a better color under the HPS light.

How often do you feed?

There could be a salt build up which would cause lockout, a good flush will solve that

I feed 1 tbsp every other watering or so...and I use organics so it's not a salt buildup.

BTW I have been feeding nothing but 1/2 tbsp molasses for the last 4 days and nothing has improved.

Maybe during these hot summer days your plants react to extreme hot and can't use nutrients but demand water for heat dissipation. Especially when growing indoors. Your PH could be a bit lower. Hope this helps you or you solve the problem on your own. Either way you have some flowers to smoke so you can't go wrong.

I have these problems when I go straight to flower nutes same time I flip to 12/12. Most strains react well to transition feeding, veg nutes, added cal-mag until day 21. At 21 days Ill give them 1 watering of pk booster then straight flower nutes. Some of these girls run out of Nitrogen early and don't have enough to finish properly. I grow in coco, not sure how soil changes this theory.

WoW, true example of CALIFORNIA... flat3ric, how goes it, dude? What in the hell did you feed these to make it look like this? I see, the plant eating at itself so my first concern is that the nutes are either way too light or heavy, the PH is off, or a combination of both. SMH! When was the idea that you could get GREAT GENETICS BEFORE YOU UNDERSTOOD HOW TO GROW? Good Luck bro... Your pictures don't allow me to actually tell you what actually is wrong with your plants, how about turn the light off, and then take a picture with the FLASH...

Looks like some kind of nutrient lockout to me. Test the Ph of the soil around the root ball and not the runoff water. You'll need a good soil probe to do this. May also be salt/impurities built up in the soil causing nutrient lockout. May need flushing with RO water. Give them a good flush, then wait a few days and hit with a good nutrient tea high in nitrogen. I used to have this happen on some plants late in flowering years ago when I used chemical ferts. Toxic builup of salts and it does not take much. Can also happen when using organic ferts. if your micro beasties in your soil are out of wack. Now I grow TLO style (True Living Organics) and now never worry about it. Only have to use nutrien teas every 10-15 days during flowering. Rest of the time just water with RO water.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. Turns out it was a basic but epic fail on my part. I had the smartpot sitting in a little runoff tray so the roots at the bottom weren't ever drying out and not getting sufficient aeration....which resulted in some nasty anaerobic stuff growing and killing my roots.

I discovered this by lifting the smartpot up to see the condition of the roots that came out from under it and was greeted by the smell of rotten eggs. no bueno!

So now I have it elevated on a grate over the tub like I should have from the beginning and will let it dry out before giving it another water.

Will also snap some pics when the lights shut off tonight.

Okay, so the overflood isn't the problem... I run airpots with runoff trays and I don't have a problem. Do you let the soil dry out before the next feeding or are checking your your plants too often and showing them too much attention by overfeeding? If you use organics, ph isn't your problem, I know a lot people on here are about to chew me out but don't worry... My suggestion right now would be to take each one of your plants to a bathtub or outside and run water over them for a minute each to make sure all the nutes are out the soil. Give it 3 - 4 days and feed lightly with 1/2 amount of normal nute use... After this, give them a week to briten up and you should be back to glory in no time...:tiphat:

If you smell rot, then that's probably the issue. Anaerobic conditions are always going to fuck you, whether you're in smartpots or not.

3ric, if the plants do not improve, then come back and give us some details. What brand and ratios of mediums, what nutrients you've run thru the entire cycle, lighting and ventilation details, etc. The questionaire in the infirmary is a good place to start. Details help us to help you, we don't ask for them just to be a pain in the ass.

Happy growing, hope your girls turn around for you.

Looks like a Phosphate deficiency. This is likely given that most fertilizers have too much N/K to P for late flowering cannabis plants. 15-30-15 is not sufficient. If you use something like 10-50-10 for the last 2-3 weeks of flower

U definitely want to use at least 15-30-15 for week 5 if not 15-40-15

They need 900-1200 ppm at that stage too

The rot on the bottom of the pot was the problem. The problem has stopped since I raised it on a grate, but obviously it's not going to reverse at this stage.

Here is how it's looking now (DAY 48 of 12/12)....as you can see most of the fan leaves have died and fallen off, the ones remaining have that diseased look but it's not progressing now.
