Using food coloring during watering to hide MJ

I have a buddy who is a state trooper, and volunteers for chopper duty every year (he smoked with me back in college years ago). He showed me some video and pics they use to train troopers in looking for MJ. I asked him how they saw a couple of the bust he showed because the plants were hidden (as far as I could tell) pretty well. They were spread out and worked into the surrounding vegetation. His answer....color. He said once you get the color of MJ imprinted into your head, it sticks out like a sore thumb because it is pretty much unique. As he told me this I looked at the pics and realized it was true. Once I looked for the color instead of the shape or size, it stood out. So then the question becomes how to combat this. My first thought is food coloring. In theory if you add some color to the water it should change the color of the plant correct? Even a slight change in color might be enough to camouflage the distinctive color that they are trained to look for. am I crazy? I also wonder how changing the color would effect photosynthesis and growth ect ect.....any thoughts?

while I don't think watering with food colouring will work, I never seen it tried so it just may.. but imagine how much unneeded chemicals you'll have in the product.

the floriculture industry uses special food coloring when growing stuff like carnations to give a multi-color frosted-tip effect, same thing with daises. You'd just have to find a darker green or brown to off-set color. I have no clue what the chemical effect would be of smoking plants that have been dyed though, gotta have some effect most likely negative.

If you have ever noticed that different kinds of weed have different colors; light green, pale green, dark green, etc., that theory goes out the window. It's not the "color", it's the refractive index. Weed reflects light differently than other plants. Easy to spot when you know what to look for.

They use a type of night vision also, that is dialed to our plants.

If you use bleach on the ground around a blue spruce you can make it bluer. just an fyi.

Yup. FLIR (Forward Looking Infra Red). The specific refractive index of cannabis makes it stand out like a beacon.

Scary stuff, glad I live in Canada.

Don't be so sure these wannabee jack-booted thugs won't cross the border like they did with Austria, Checkoslovakia and Poland back in the 30's. If they get enough power, and they just may, they'll find some reason to invade.
