Hey, now wait just a minute there Tax....

i saw that picture before, it was in the Beautiful Buds: Now We're Growing book!!! That was the pic in the last chapter of the veggin part, before the flowering part of the book! :jump: hehe..

Looking good though brotha, I'm thinking you probably switched to 12/12 a day or so ago - those trees are going to awesome! They look really pro, I can see that you kept the bottom halves real clean and free (looks like actual tree stem there, lol) of branches, exposing the bark.... I pray that you have ample ceiling room - other than not having the space for when they double in height, I don't see anything getting in the way of an amazing finished product. As I said months ago, those are two strains I would have easily picked myself - you are that much closer now to some Cannibus Cup winning herb :dance013::blowbubbles:

TD clones

Hey Tax have ya tried to clone any of the TD?
I did 2 cuts only 1 made it(put her in the ebb system) with the others...Did 6 more 2 days ago. They lookin a little saggy day 1 but seem to be purkin back up day 2.I am 1 under my state limit so all experiments will have to wait till next grow...Hopefully the 6 will root in cuz a friend wants to trade 2 for 2 with me and he has some kind of purple thai that sounds just YUMMi....
So did ya get that bagseed grow dried up yet?
Taste just like it did from when you bought it?I'm thinkin it taste a whole lot better then the bag ya bought it from cuz YOU grew it!lol

I soak the rockwool in my tap water which has been pH'd to around 5.8-6.0. I've seen people use additives during the rockwool soak... usually just simple stuff like Superthrive and Aquashield but I haven't tried it yet.

10g per plant seems like a very easy goal with the 1L airpots (plus a decent amount of light). Mine are still in the 1L and they are monsters (still in veg, mind you... but still). Once they dominate the small pot with their root system though you will need to water a couple times a day or they will completely dry out to the bone within 24 hours.

This strain comes from Barney's Coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Where they got their genetics is anybody's guess... however it's a small world so maybe your crop had a hand in it. Wish I could comment on the flavor and taste of what I got but she's still in veg. :(

Your gonna love the TD's..and the SLH 2 of my favorite smokes buttery lemons and orange creamsicle is what they taste like and they both can get quite tall I always top my SLH 2 times and my TD 2 times and plants still end up about 4 feet...but the final product is well worth it

I definitely don't have very much more vertical space to offer these girls -- a foot or two more, max. Already the Tangerine Dream has stretched taller than the Super Lemon Haze. I am going to have to tie some branches down most likely... here they are as of today:

Thanks for checking in!

As for the bagseed, it's cut down and curing now. I've only filled about 5x 500mL mason jars this time around, and I didn't bother to weigh it yet -- maybe after it's cured for a while. Each jar has a hygrometer in it and the RH% is hovering around 55-60% -- so it's right where I want it. The seed itself has easily been in storage for years, so I don't remember the bag of weed it came from and can't make an accurate taste/high comparison. I didn't really like the high so I turned most of the last plant into cooking oil, buds and all... whereas I will be smoking more of this one so hopefully it's a little more potent (I did leave it growing two weeks longer than the last time).

As for the cloning, I took 3 TD cuts and 4 SLH cuts originally with all 7 showing decent roots growing out of the rockwool after about 12-14 days. After I've cut clones they have sagged each time briefly, so don't worry about that. I gave away all but one of each and they are now under my veg light after being potted into the airpots. They are already starting to show new growth:

I usually spend most of the summer up at the lake fishing, so this is why updates have been less frequent ;) I left my wife in charge of the feeding and since she doesn't check pH, you can see some leaf curl on both the flowering plants and the new clones. That should straighten out over the next few days since I'm back. I can also tell by the leaf tips that my food for the clones is still a little rich, so I will back that off as well.

Thanks for the flavor notes. I'm very excited to give it a try!

Here are some random shots I took the other day while transplanting these two into the 5L airpots (really shows off the rootballs):

Day 22 of flower

Well the stretch has been out of control! The Tangerine Dream especially. I've had to resort to topping two of the main colas on her because they were way past the light. I've got the Super Lemon Haze branches tied down to the Tangerine Dream pot and vice-versa. I realize my yield is going to take a hit due to the topping, but it's a real cluster bomb in there... check out this picture to get a (slightly) better idea:

Since I built this thing into the closet corner, my mobility in there is severely limited. Working in that tiny space while I'm on my knees is difficult at best.

The light hood is cheap -- also since the bulb is exposed I have bent and trimmed them to keep them out of the hotspot. I will look into getting a cool tube for next time I think.

Here's a closeup of the budding Super Lemon Haze taken an hour ago:

The Tangerine Dream is definitely a week or two behind the Super Lemon Haze. White hairs are showing but buds haven't started to develop much beyond that.

Each plant is drinking a half-gallon every other day.

That's it for now! Thanks for reading. :tiphat:

Update - Week 7 of flower

Well I pulled the Tangerine Dream out... it was growing way too slow for my liking. Plus the stretch was too much for my small tent to handle and some of the branches got too close to the light. However I definitely noted the orange smell when tearing her down. I gave a clone to a buddy of mine so hopefully the genetics can prosper over there.

I definitely need to put a scrog in my tent or switch to indica strains to minimize the plant height.

The Super Lemon Haze looks pretty good for the most part. Here's one of the healthy colas from a picture taken 4 days ago:

Lqawwl.jpg

I've got a thread open in the Infirmary here, and so far one person has suggested I might have had a timing or light-leak issue because this one branch appears to have gone back into veg, with several tiny branches growing from the tip. Here's a picture from today to explain:

SQr80l.jpg

I'm not sure what to do at this point, but I have cut some of these extra branches off in the meantime and switched back to my old mechanical timer. I had switched to a digital timer a couple weeks ago with a slightly different 12-hour period each day +/- 15 minutes... maybe that was it...

Lights are off now, or I'd snap a couple more pics of the nice buds for everyone.

Day 68 of flower, day 7 since the new clones showed roots

Day 68 of flower, day 7 since the new clones showed roots

Well, today is day 68 of flower for the Super Lemon Haze. Here's a picture I snapped of the biggest cola outside the tent, with the flash yesterday:

High-res
hgqzVl.jpg

Here's a picture of it last week in front of my hand, for a better idea of scale:
ZAMr4l.jpg

It's getting flushed now daily. I will probably cut it down at day 70 or so. It's mostly cloudy trichs now, a few ambers are speckled here and there. Maybe I'll let it go to 72...

I'm in a hurry to get the next four in there. I'm going to put them straight to 12/12 from clone (the cuttings showed roots out of the bottom of these airpots a week ago), and see how they fare as far as stretch is concerned. I will keep them in the 1L airpots throughout flower too because I'm curious to see how much yield I can squeeze out of them. The current lady was in a 5L airport from flower.

These are all SLH (mom is off to the right):

Next update will be harvest most likely! Thanks for looking.

Harvey Day!

Harvey Day!

Chopped her down and got her all trimmed up for the dry. It's hanging back in the dark tent now with the fans and exhaust running for a couple days. Once the stems snap, into the jars it will go. I quick-dried a gram gently in the oven and then vaped some -- first impressions are good!

xJlJkl.jpg

u4Fhal.jpg

The biggest cola had a dime sized spot of blue-grey mold starting to develop in the centre, so I cut all traces of it away. Hopefully it won't be a problem later during the cure. I also ended up cutting away a little bit of immature growth from the foxtailing phase it went through briefly. Some of them filled out in time, some didn't.

I'll post the dry weight once it's all finished.

:jump:

unlucky with the Tangerine dream, i was also chasing a full grow log not to be. i was thinking about my TD all the way through, although i eventually killed it (had some stem root issues with a few plants), somewhere between 10cm and 15cm in veg it took off like a rocket now i have a few clones that look like their bout ready to take off. thinking i'll top once plus top again a week into flowering or so to keep the buggers under control. judging from both our vegging TD's i think mine might be even worse!

nice harvest you have there.

cheers
