COOKIE MONSTER

what part cant be done stoned? Standing. sorting crab. throwing some ropes. steering a ship. controlling a crane...

Working in sub-zero temps for god knows how many hours a day in pitching seas on ice covered decks while sleep deprived and looking out for your and your work buddies safety.....is the part you cant do stoned.

You are mistaken if you think you can.
Have a safe and happy life :tiphat:

let me lay it out for you kids on some real shit.

jake is an idiot and anyone defending him is too.

you might be able to crab/fish all god damn day and be high but that's NOT the point.

you might think the laws are wrong but that's not the point.

when you are part owner of a boat and have millions of dollars invested into a career that

is going to take care of you for the rest of your life you don't ruin it by having drugs on

your boat. You could, can, and will lose your fishing license, your boat, and

everything else you thought you owned. Also when you are part owner/future cpt.

you hold yourself above everyone else. If I got a cpt. that's sitting up in the wheel

house puffing blunts all day while I'm working my fucking ass off I'm not going

to take him seriously, and wouldn't want to work for you in the first place.

Jake is supposed to be the heir apparent to his father. i don't want to work for

a cpt. that is stoned especially when your responsible for EVERYONE on deck.

that is a more responsibility than most of you can even fathom.

josh and jake need to listen to listen to the new capt. .... (and jake needs to take the shit more seriously or get off at the next stop)

they fukin' hired capt. derrick.....pretty awkward situation there anyway, but they have more on the line now being part owners of the boat and still just being deckhands... they're not even "deckboss" material.....and after 5 years sure should be.

i don't see either one ever running the boat anyway

poor freddie...that dude is as solid as they come!

I don't know much about fishing but I know I like it.

Got myself a really nice rod a couple days ago, I just gotta learn how to tie it onto the wheel properly.

So did anyone watch the episode of jack possibly getting caught smoking marijuana on the ship? And whole crew stood by his side. I find this sad after Phillips passed away. I really hope to see those boys next season with a better skipper, who isn't a asshole about marijuana smoke. I feel jake uses it for medical. To help fight his addiction. Among I'm sure the physical pain on a crabbing, boat. Perfect example of peoples hidden agendas. Skipper only did it to protect his name. But looked likean ass at the end, for calling the cops.... You think jqke going strategically to the airport looked bad on him?
FYI, there is a ZERO (0%) tolerance for drugs on any ships, if the coast guard knew that it was a smoking crew & there was bud on board they can board the ship, do a 100% search & confiscate it (the whole boat) for any (ANY) amount of weed seized, yeah even an 1/8th. that would be ZERO tolerance.

so let's just see here, lose a multi-million dollar vessel or throw the stoner overboard.

that's a no-brainer.......

.

Agree 100%.

I drive heavy vehicles and there is a zero tolerence of alcohol and drugs of any kind. This is the law and open myself to prosecution if detected.

The consequences of operating a heavy vehicle on alcohol or drugs could be catastrophic.

The truck I drive weighs 60 ton, if I crashed into a school bus I would probably live but leave a trail of death and destruction.

I would go to jail for a long time and be haunted by the deaths forever.

Zero tolerence is required for the safety of everyone.

doing drugs on a boat is bad mmmkay. you need to be totally aware and sober for safety. being high could cost someone their life. i worked on alot of boats when younger and would never put up with drugs while working
I smoke marijuana daily for over a decade. I no longer feel a ephoria effect. I know people who fly planes and doctors who smoke marijuana. When It's sleep time for these guys, they have every right to smoke marijuana. I believe Jake deserves more credit than that. Hes been doing this his whole life. And It's not like he can just off the boat to smoke on his time off. He has every right to smoke. And I bet 50 percent of them smoke. Let's see you endure that pain without weed...... Crab hands are no joke. and marijuana is great for stiff hands....

How many people smoke weed and drive? Then Urs just as guilty under your double standards.... I drive better high. And as a matter of fact. Look in stormy crows links under eyes or sight, and It has been proven to increase fishermen eye sight at night time. Marijuana improves Urs vision and awarness.

Since you seem to he the head of the coast guard. Jake wapked right passed the cop. bjake owns 15 percent of that boat. They did not take it away. So I don't see a zero tolerance as they found weed in there. They will jot take away a multi million dollar boat for personal weed. Now if you are transporting It in bricks. Then sure. Also, no one can prove Jake was smoking or the only one smoking. No one else was mad at him. If u can take morphine on a boat, u caj use medical marijuana on a boat. especially after shift. Jake and family have been doing this for years. I bet chill knew they smoked on the boat. Help the camera man would of caught them. they don't let nothing slide..... But for some unsaid reason. Marijuana was tolerated on that boat. Being a family boat, It ain't no ones business what they do but them. Only god can judge.

Ps. Scott packs book a road less traveled.... Brilliant

ZERO tolerance, don't believe me? ask the coast guard.

if they'd suspected that boat for smuggling weed and could not find anything except that personal stash the owners could kiss that boat good-bye, again, don't believe me then ask the coast guard.

they didn't find weed in Jakes stuff, he was smart enough to leave it an area that's accessible by the whole crew therefore the cop couldn't claim he knew it was Jakes.

and btw, I saw the show, and being as he didn't walk past that cop smoking weed how could he get busted?; in fact that cop hadn't even gotten the initial report work done yet and only then did the cop follow him to the airport and searched what he could----- are you awake when you watch these shows???

'Deadliest Catch' crewmember falls ill and rescued

'Deadliest Catch' crewmember falls ill and rescued

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Rescuers flew a member of the cable TV series "Deadliest Catch" fishing crew to a remote clinic in Alaska after he collapsed and showed signs of shock and dehydration on board a fishing vessel in the Bering Sea, the Coast Guard said Tuesday.

The agency didn't identify the 28-year-old man but said he's a crewmember of the 150-foot (45.72-meter) Wizard, part of the hit Discovery Channel reality series that depicts the crab fishing industry in the dangerous waters off Alaska.

Discovery didn't immediately provide information and emails seeking details that were sent through the website of the Seattle-based Wizard were not immediately answered.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew flew the man Monday afternoon to a clinic in the Alaska Peninsula community of Cold Bay, 60 miles (95 kilometers) to the south. He was then flown to an Anchorage hospital.

Waves were only about 3-feet (1-meter) high when he fell ill. The National Weather Service said it happened before the arrival of a huge storm brewing in the Bering Sea.

Wendy Whitney, a nurse practitioner at the Cold Bay clinic, said privacy laws prevented her from identifying the crewmember. But she said the man was conscious at the clinic, adding that his condition wasn't seasickness and needed further evaluation.

The man was flown Monday night to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage and was stabilized with intravenous fluids. He appeared be feeling better before he departed on the medical flight to the medical center, Whitney said.

The illness comes less than nine months after a crew member of another "Deadliest Catch" fishing vessel was found dead in an Alaska motel room. Justin Tennison, who worked on the Time Bandit, was found dead in Homer in February amid beer, hard liquor and a small amount of marijuana in a room where police believe a party had taken place the night before.

Last year, Capt. Phil Harris of the "Deadliest Catch" fishing vessel Cornelia Marie died following a massive stroke at age 53.

Just watched 4 hours of the DC last night, what a great show. The Harris brothers are on different boats now, too bad they cant get the CM back in action.
So sad about the deckhand that passed away, so young, such a tragedy.
I betcha Andy and Jonathon puff!! They are pretty funny, the best boat in the fleet :D

Every episode leaves me the same way... wanting to find a good seafood restaurant for some crab!

The best time I ever had with a "crab fest was" in Orlando, FL a few years back. I found a Chinese buffet that was STOCKED with delicious crab and other seafood as well. I just kept hitting the crab section over and over and over, I don't remember even I touching any of the other items, except a few shrimp!

I always wondered how i would hold up on one of them boats ?

if you have to ask then the answer is prolly not good.......just sayin.

DC is still the best show that has ever been put on TV....i may be biased w/ that because i've worked in the industry in alaska, and waaaaaaayyyyyyy before DC i saw a need for a real show about crabbers.

can't wait to watch the rest of the new season :woohoo:
